I feel sorry for him. Really. He's supposed to be a goat, a top manipulator, and it's true, but what he had to go through from birth to become like this... it's terrifying and sad at the same time. Nevertheless, this attitude is impressive and it does not surprise me. Until people become like him and do not know what feeling of another person's warmth or love is, they will not know that they want a worse self than they currently are, even if we take into account his high intellect and fighting skills. Sometimes it's not worth it. I'm glad that he slowly changes in the novella and that he has already shown us his first smile. There is hope for him, which is why he is such a well-written character.

Ayanokoji is easily the most misunderstood character, kids say “I want to be like Ayanokoji” but the fact is that none of them could sustain this long in Koji’s life. Ayanokoji himself wants to experience emotions but he can’t, people call him a toxic manipulator but he’s just devoid of emotions due to pure psychological and physical torture from such a young age.
it is ironic that he completely acknowledges his lack of emotions or empathy, even seems to regret that feature despite the fact that he knows he can't erase that numbness. ( havn't watched this but this character just seems interesting)
He couldn't learn love through kei cause she was like emotion experience to him but love is not something you can manipulate yourself or force it it's a feeling that came alone

But with suzu it was different i noticed through the story that at first he used her but little by little he become protective toward her helping her

This actually reminds me of myself on my first date. I was used to lying to people all the time and only ever seeing myself as an idea or concept more than I did my actual self.
We were at some amusement park, and on the steepest way down a roller coaster, I looked over and saw him laughing. It was the most genuine and real laugh he had ever given. It was also a beautiful sound.

After that, even though I didn't feel particularly guilty, more just compassionate, I apologized, saying he was a good person in every aspect, but I never explained why I was apologizing. It was because I would break his heart. I perceived it as inevitable.
When we started walking around some shops after that, we found a wishing well and we both threw quarters in. I don't know what he wished for, probably something cheesy. Sadly, he was a hopeless romantic. I wished to learn to love him. Because I knew he was good. And if wishes can make the impossible come true, I figured it was better to bet my life on loving him than his heartbreak and a lonely death.
7 months later, I think I'm getting there. Or somewhere close to whatever he felt or however he thought. I'm not as false as before. I don't always see and hear myself from the eyes and ears of others. Though, over 90% of the time, I can't help it. I won't even notice I'm doing it, but it's constant and uncontrollable.
I try sometimes to connect myself to reality and to my true, unfiltered (as bad or inappropriate as they are) emotions. But I'm scared, and it's hard to motivate yourself to do things when the original way of living feels much more natural and effective in terms of making people like you.
But I guess it's what I asked for. And an intuitive part of me is screaming that I want it. So I'd better keep trying. But no promises.
When I wished to learn to love him, I wasn't expecting such rough and heart-wrenching lessons. It's been absolutely torturous mentally. But I guess as long as progress is made, that wish really will be granted.

I still deal with suicidal ideation. A lot. But somehow, I managed to pull the most caring, compassionate person in the universe because he's been looking out for me since I divulged how much I've been struggling with my mental health.
I still have lots of bad days. I have issues with cutting, suicidal intrusive thoughts, insomnia, ED, etc. but I know it's all because I'm being forced to confront how I actually feel for the first time in many years. Feeling is hard. But I think it's worth it because everyone should have an identity. Or at least that's what he tells me, so it must be right. I have to trust his word (Learning how to trust has also been insanely difficult).
I think I might actually recover. Or at least I hope I do. I might be going to therapy, but taking that step is just hard for me for some reason.
