I've played D2 on and off for years... I never knew you could hotkey your skills like this. I've always bitched to everyone how it sucks so bad having to use your mouse to click your skill tree all the time... wow, I feel so bad with myself right now.
@SmexyTrailerz You click on the left mouse icon (right next to the mana pool, the blue circle on the bottom left of your screen). Your abilities will show up; just click on which one you want. Oh and thanks nuub tv I'm finally picking this game up for the first time this vid was helpful.
@@ContemporaryCompendium ... preddy amazing for its time, too much going on the screen in small dungeons n allot of fast selecting with so few hotkeys for spells... waiting for re-make
how can you use the scroll button on the mouse to quick-select your skills, my father had this game, with the expansion and i allowed him to use the scroll button, now i also have this game withe the expansion and it wont let me use the scroll button
It doesn't work on my laptop. I hover over the skill I want to set, I press F something, and what happens is that F just executes it's regular function (mute, increase/decrease sound...) and the hotkey isn't set. And I did make sure the F buttons are available in the settings.
Hey, the function keys on some (most?) laptops are set to make the special things happen instead of F1, F2, F3, etc. Special things like volume up, volume down, screen settings, etc. Depending on your laptop model there will be different methods to change how that row of keys will operate.

People find help in different ways. Some can look at a GUI and intuit how to make settings. Others use a board like reddit to uncover the tricks, others are lucky and have friends that clue them in, and others hunt around on google or youtube and find obscure tutorials from last decade :) No shame in being differently abled.
A game without an actual tutorial and you expect newcomers to figure out all the details, im aware back then there were gaming manuals but some dont have that luxury.
fuck u man, im new to d2 lod and didnt have a clue you had to have the cursor abov the skill and THEN press the abillities. this tutorial helped ALLOT! douchebag.

WTF? You people actually need some guide for standard setting procedure? No kidding?
I'm disappointed in humanity.
