Wow...The two screens and distance camera are much better than the previous model of Clover Pro.
I wonder if you're thinking of other CloverBook models. There is also the CloverBook Lite and CloverBook Plus, which offer reduced features from the CloverBook Pro, for a lower price.
Wow, I've been loosing vision starting last year and I'm at 20/200 now! :o This could work for me. I have so much trouble with for example cooking instructions on pkgs, or something like that. :O

This looks like a really useful tool. My mom recently tried the Compact HD 10 and was disappointed how the arm limited the ability to scan/ read pages of books- She had to turn the book over to read/ scan the “far” page.
This CloverBook Pro seems like maybe the arm might make scanning/ reading both pages of a book a little easier.

We love to spend time with people on the phone, so we can learn about the visual challenges that need to be overcome and recommend the best solution. There are loads of options and no such thing as a "one-size-fits-all" approach. For example, if your mother needs to scan and read as her main accommodation/need, I would probably recommend a product specifically for that, like the ReadEasy Evolve. If computer or tablet use is needed/desired, I'd probably recommend something else. I'd recommend CloverBook Pro when the main goal is live magnification with awesome portability. Are there any visual aids for reading and also writing for low visioner?

Have you tried the distance camera with a smart board or white board? Traditionally, I've had a lot of trouble picking up information on one of these boards due to glare and lack of high contrast.
We'd be happy to recommend the Dolphin SuperNova Mag & Speech software, if your student wants to use a tablet or laptop to connect directly (digitally) to a smart board or teacher's laptop. There is no more clear image than that. Otherwise, I think you'll be more satisfied with the image quality from the CloverBook Pro distance camera, versus most others in the 12.5-inch category. You'll get a very clear image in full color mode, which will help better deal with the glare than using a contrast mode. You can also easily store (and voice-label) images, if the presenter is moving quickly.
