Great to see your passion for the SH-09. I just picked up an SH-2 and I'm blown away.
Thanks for documenting these synths, love to see more. Bedankt
Golden review
Thanks for taking the time to show this classic little synth. As usual it's in the details where the difference lies between this and other similar instruments. The biggest plus for these 'simple' machines is the immediacy when creating sounds. It's all there in front of you.
7:50 For vibrato! Regarding portamento, you could use a Midi/CV converter with internal portamento, like Kenton Pro-solo, etc.
Excellent review! a labor of love. I´ll begin to follow you, now I want to see the video of the Bit One update, I want to update mine.
very nice video ! man,,SH09 one of my favo vintage synths ,got many sweet spots for such a simple synth,, great for electro/early wave
great video Rude! SH 09 is all over the Medio Mutante records (with a little dash of SH-2). nice to see synth videos on youtube by someone who knows what they are talking about!
cool vid
Nice 👍 Lekker bezig, meneer! 🔥
Had it. Sold it. Miss it
Just got mine out from under the bed. Got it in 1998 (£100ish) and hadn't used it since about 2006 so it's a bit crunchy sounding all over! Was trying to figure out if I should sell it or keep it but it needs a load of work.
After watching this I'm gonna get it fixed and keep it!
good thinking. you wont regret it! and they are easy to work on and fix too!
PWM on the moog sounds like a fart, super ugly with the filter, the sh-09 sounds like a beast!!! Clear crisp full bodied.
Great video! Love my sh-09, definitely more raw sounding than sh-101. The pitch modulator is not only good for effects, without it you couldn't make vibrato, a basic thing for more expressive leads (works for that funky boogie bass too) :)
I wanted to comment the same indeed. It's the way to add vibrato which is imo a very useful thing to have on any synth.
@@jonassteur9538 sure, i use vibrato sometimes, but i usually don't want it the same on every note.. so i do that with the pitch bender, or use the portamento function (which is only usable here with the keyboard) but yes, good addition guys, thanks!
I guess it is kind of randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
SH02 has a little more more to offer (double VCO, pitchwheel can controll just one of them!) and a slightly fuller warmer old Roland sound to my opinion. Let's have a long debate about that, haha. Thanks for the demo.
Had it, Sold it, missed it. Bought a SH-2. But still different. Certainly has its own Mojo.

Weird - I've had my SH09 for ages and I've never had an issue with triggering using standard 5 volt CV/Trig.
Great video I love mine very rich sounds I put a Korg Sq1 on mine I'm at the infant stage of modules What can i use the C/v and Gate output for?
you can use the sh09's keyboard to play anything with cv/gate inputs. not very useful in this day and age ;-)
Hele gave video!
Just music?
Veel mooie herinneringen aan Just Music.
Is it difficult to do that cv/gate in mod?
not at all, for many years i had a special cable that had a small circuit and a 9v battery to kick up the voltage from 5 to 10 and it was only a few parts. i dont know exactly how this mod is, but it can't be too complicated.. there may be a description online, and any tech will certainly be able to do it..
They don't go for sub 700€ anymore.
