Apparently, someone returned their old crap, and HD put them back on the shelf, and I ended up buying them! So now I check everything at the register right when I buy it. Cheers, from Kommieforniia!

I was at the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, Wisconsin. Someone stole fishing lures right out of the display cases. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Check your poles also when buying from Walmart. We got one that part of the reel was missing and another that the reel was jamming. It’s our fault for not checking.

I bought worms at Wal-Mart recently and found the container was empty. Took them back and found that all of the containers at that store had been emptied. Pretty sad. Who would steal dozens and dozens of live worms.....

Walmart doesn’t give a shit. I’ve told them about $60 boxes of sports cards that were opened and someone took all the packs inside and the empty boxes were still sitting on the shelves days later.

i remember when my youngest son was little and he bought a mystery back at the dollar store instead of buying something he could actually see , yeah he got stung and i suspect anyone buying these or the more expensive mystery boxes get stung too. i don't condone opening something unless you buy it too me it's just a scam.

I make "grab bags" at my independent tackle shop, and this video shows why I take offense when peolle call the "mystrey tackle boxes"
My $10 Kid's Pack has more stuff in it than this.
Also, we've been doing grab bags for about 30 years at this point, long before MTB even existed.
At the 3.50 each or so price range you'd be hard pressed to find all those individually for 10 bucks.
A maribou jig is worth $0.20/ea, retail. You're overestimating the value. A Creme cranbait kit has like 6 lures for $7. The run of the mill Walmart kits are cheaper and you get more out of them.

The Walmart across from the beach has a security camera and monitor (so you can see yourself) above fishing isle that constantly bings and beeps when you stand there trying to shop. I get it, but geez I hate it.

I bought the big version and got a freaking topwater rat lure, a chartreuse rc2 crankbait, some wide gap hooks, and some soft plastic craw things
had no idea there was a big version. The smaller ones seem to be on clearance at some walmarts

That mystery box is a scam as far as value goes, but it’s still a lowlife thing to do when you open the boxs and not purchase, and that loss will be passed along by Walmart. You can find some really good bargains at Walmart tackle,without destroying property and products. People who have lost their honor just don’t get it😢 it’s not what you do when others are watching, it’s what you do when no one else is around that gives you your own self respect 🤷🏻♂️⚖️

People take out the items they want and stuff them into other boxes to get "free" lures. I had to weigh a few of the same numbered ones to make sure I didn't get a robbed one.

I don't blame them, why get ripped off? The real question is how many people will open that box, throw in a bunch of good lures, close it back up and go buy it for $10.
so its okay to open up a pack of sports cards first at walmart or any sports store just to make sure i am getting the cards I want. If I don't like the cards I just put them back in the pack and on the shelf. No harm right? While you are at it, might as well get those quarters back out of the slot machine because you didn't win anything.

The only "mystery" is how much will i be ripped off by buying this. Dollars dont go very far anymore and it doesnt help when they try and rip you off with 3 dollars worth of tackle for 10 bucks. This is dumb design in action. I'm not gambling on a fishing trip. There's a Chevron by my house that has a sign on the fridge saying not to open worms prior to buying. And you know what was inside the containers? Rotten worms. You got some rotten worms there. People shouldn't be opening and stealing stuff, but it's hard to feel bad when it's a blatant scam.
I have bought some baseball card packs that had rotten cards. Guess I should open them up first to make sure the mystery is worth it.
