Art Demo No. 12 - abstract landscape with acrylic paint. A demo in different techniques

A summary of the various steps of work on my painting "Glacier melt" I’s an abstract landscape on a square canvas. first I primed this with Gesso. Before I started with the acrylic paints, I applied a structural paste without grain and allowed to dry. I do not use a specific brand and therefore do not want to advertise. I usually mix my various shades together. Sometimes even directly on the canvas during painting. Just be a little brave and experiment something. I used the following tools in this painting: Spatula, pallets knives and brushes in various sizes. To mix my colors a little more transparent if necessary I use a Pouring medium plus Floetrol. This has the advantage that the colors do not lose luminosity in this case. The picture, like most of my paintings, I built up in many different layers and even if many wonderful details disappear again, the finished painting would not be the same if I would omit these intermediate steps. Eine Zusammenfassung der verschiedenen Arbeitsschritte an meinem Gemälde "Gletscherschmelze" Es ist eine abstraktes Landschaft auf einer quadratischen Leinwand. Diese habe ich erst mit Gesso grundiert. Bevor ich mit den Acrylfarben begonnen habe habe ich hier eine Strukturpaste ihne Körnung aufgetragen und trocknen lassen. Ich verwende keine bestimmte Marke und möchte daher auch keine Werbung machen. Meine diversen Farbtöne mische ich mir meistens selbst zusammen. Manchmal sogar direkt auf dem Gemälde während des Malens. Sei da einfach etwas mutig und experimentiere etwas. An Werkzeugen habe ich bei diesem Gemälde folgendes verwendet: Spachteln, Paletten Messer und Pinsel in diversen Größen. Um mir meine Farben im Bedarfsfall etwas transparenter zu mischen verwende ich ein Pouringmedium plus Floetrol. Das hat den Vorteil, dass die Farben dabei nicht an Leuchtkraft verlieren. Das Bild, habe ich wie die meisten meiner Gemälde in vielen verschiedenen Schichten aufgebaut und auch wenn viele wundervolle Details dabei wieder verschwinden wäre das fertige Gemälde doch nicht das gleiche, wenn ich diese Zwischenschritte auslassen würde. Hallo Vera, superschönes Ergebnis! Toll finde ich auch, dass man am rechten Rand sehen kann, wie die Farben gemischt werden. Habe ich es richtig gesehen, dass das Pouringmedium "einfach so" auf die Leinwand kommt? Minute 2:36 zum Beispiel? Oder mischen Sie die Farben vorher damit? Danke für das schöne Video. Gibt mir wieder mehr Mut zu mehr Freiheit und Spontanität.
Hallo, erstmal herzlichen Dank für den netten Kommentar. Hier in diesem Fall habe ich das Pouringmedium tatsächlich einfach auf die Leinwand gegeben, da sich dadurch die Farben anders und mit interessantem Effekt verteilen lassen. Das mache ich allerdings meist nur in den ersten Schichten Farbe. Je differenzierter ich die Flächen bearbeite, umso mehr greife ich auf pure Farbe zurück oder mische sie auf der Palette mit dem Medium wenn ich nur lasieren möchte

I often mix my tones myself. I can only tell you that I love working with the color green earth of Goya and Arteza of the color Indian Yellow. I mix them with other colors on my palette to get different shades. And to the tools... You see them all in the
Video. I usually work with spatulas and pallet knives. Have fun trying it out and it’s such a pity that I can’t see the result

I think a lot of abstract artists cover up gems of detail by working on the piece too long.
That may be, but in the end, it must first and foremost feel right for the artist himself

Hallo Vera, jetzt habe ich doch noch eine Frage. Mischen Sie die Farben in den kleinen Flaschen selber (mit Wasser)? Meine Tubenfarben sind von der Konsistenz viel dicker. Gruß Luna
