    Yuji Nishida (西田 有志 Nishida Yūji, born 30 January 2000) is a Japanese male volleyball player.
    Nishida currently plays for JTEKT Stings, a volleyball club based in Kariya, Aichi, Japan. He made his debut with JTEKT Stings at V.League (Japan) on 6 January 2018 in a match against Osaka Blazers Sakai. His impressive debut at the young age of 17 soon earned him a position in JTKET's Starting 6 as well as Japan men's national volleyball team.
    He is one of the youngest players in the 2018 roster of the Japan men's national volleyball team. He made his first international performance with the Japanese national team in 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League. In June 2018, he played a pivotal role in securing Japan's first win in 11 years against Italy where he collected 24 points from 21 spikes and 3 aces. In September 2018, in a match against Argentina in 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, Nishida became the youngest player ever to score 30 points in a match. In June 2019, Nishida broke serving records in the VNL history after hitting 7 aces in a single game during a match against Bulgaria
    海星高等学校時代は三重県立松阪工業高等学校の壁が厚く、全日本バレーボール高等学校選手権大会(春高バレー)への出場は一度もなく、全国高等学校総合体育大会(インターハイ)は2017年度の一度だけの出場であった。その高校時代には第11回アジアユース男子選手権大会(U-19)(ミャンマー・ネーピードー)に出場するU-19日本代表に選出され、大会では優勝を果たした。
    2017年、高校3年の時にVプレミアリーグ男子のジェイテクトSTINGSに高卒内定選手として入団[7]。西田がSTINGSを選んだのは「実兄がジェイテクトで働いていて、『バレーボール部もあるんやで』と教えてくれたから」だったと云う[2]。海星高等学校は2018年1月の春高バレーに出場出来なかったため、西田は2018年1月6日の対堺ブレイザーズ(広島県立総合体育館)戦で高校生選手としてVプレミアリーグの公式戦に初出場を果たしスパイク決定率70%を記録し[8]、その翌日のJTサンダース戦では早くもスターティング・ラインアップに名を連ねてチーム最多の26得点を叩き出すなど鮮烈なデビューを飾った。
    2018年4月に海星高等学校を卒業して、正式にジェイテクトSTINGSに入団。時を同じくして中垣内祐一監督率いる日本男子代表に大抜擢を受けた。

    • @madisonb8151
      @madisonb8151 Před 4 lety +17

      @Ariana 4 LIFE Yes you can set/hit farther away from the net to give the hitter a better chance against a really tall and strong block, but it changes the angle of the spike and can make it harder to spike it in

    • @madisonb8151
      @madisonb8151 Před 4 lety +10

      @Ariana 4 LIFE Its a strategy setter and spike need to agree on beforehand or else they will not sync up well. There are many different ways a set can be 'off', but if a set is short, it usually means it did not travel far enough towards the outside of the court to the spikers wingspan. If it's too far out towards the outside thats also a problem. It can also be too close to the net or too far to net as well. But spikers have enough time in their approach to be able to adjust their approach to better line up with the toss if they are in second tempo/first tempo. So the problem really comes down to if Nishida doesn't have enough time in the runup to adjust to the toss + the toss is off, it could very much so narrow his hitting options or the power he can put behind his swing, like the other commenter said about him not being able to wind up fully if that makes sense. I would say the toss being too close or too far to the net narrows down the strength he can put behind the hit, whereas a toss too far to the inside or outside will narrow down his hitting options/angles.
