  • If you own a diesel car, you may have experienced problems with your diesel particulate filter (DPF), which can get clogged with soot and cause performance issues. But did you know that there is a simple and affordable way to fix your DPF without replacing it? The secret is to change the DPF sensor first, which is a device that measures the pressure difference before and after the filter. The DPF sensor helps to determine how much soot is in the filter and when it needs to be regenerated. By changing the DPF sensor first, you can avoid false regeneration triggers, prevent filter damage, and reduce harmful emissions. In this video, we will explain how the DPF sensor works, how to test it, and what to look for when choosing one.

Some models are prone to the rubber hoses delaminating inside and this can block up the sensor, so it pays to replace those as well, plus do a forced regen DPF clean with a scan tool. Good video especially the comedic parts 🤣 cheers from Oz (sheep central after Nnnn Zed of course) 😂

Hi and thanks for your great tip! I actually capped my sensor off as I had the DPF coded out so no more hoses to worry about ☺️. maybe I need to use more sheep for Ozzy viewing? 😜 ,

How do you clear the code if it does come up still?

You need a good code reader, they are pretty expensive though mine was £500 , unless you pay a garage to clear it for you

It's more likely to be the DPF not the EGR. Personally I would go down the same route at me, and take it to a specialist who can remove the DPF and remap the car to turn off the EGR to stop any future issues, gain more power and have better fuel economy.
