It Took 3 Ski Lifts...đ

- Äas pĆidĂĄn 25. 12. 2022
- The other day I posted a simple #Short showing how the word Santa turns into Satan.
I didn't say anything further on it.
Then this morning I opened my Bible and was amazed at what I read.
Exodus 23:20-21 is what spoke to me. In particular the last sentence of verse 21.
This video is not to condemn anyone. It's to get you thinking outside of the box. Jesus calls us to be set apart from this world. Therefor we must think differently than the world.
Does this speak to you like it did me?
I'm new to this walk so don't take my word for it. Ask God for discernment and do your own research.
Thanks for watching, commenting, liking, and subscribing.
You are really finding the adventures. nice
From ski bum to maitre dâ in three lift rides. Well done đđŒ

Never skied Sun Valley, but it's on the list from way back in Warren Miller days. đ
You'll love it! The whole town has such a great vibe and cool history.
Thatâs Sun Valley! I was just there.
Sooo amazing!
Awesome! Did you stop in the Roundhouse?
Looks beautiful. I have no desire to snow ski, but I did love the view you get to see. Tfs
Thanks for watching and commenting!
If you ever make it to Sun Valley come eat at the Roundhouse. A restaurant nestled 3/4 up the mountain. There's a gondola you can take up. No skiing necessary.

The mountain is ok itâs pretty easy almost no expert terrain
I've eaten there in the summer I think, hopefully I'll make it back to ski someday

You got it!
You ever tried the Ketchum Grill?
I haven't, but have heard it's phenomenal. Pretty sure I've served the owners or their fam up at the Roundhouse, and they're such nice people. Speaks volumes.

Videos like this always make me so depressed that I live in Florida lol
Move out! I moved from FL to PA recently. I now work at a ski resort and have been snowboarding like every 3 days
Ghosty Frost said it best! If you don't own a home and have a wife and kids, then you've got nothing to lose. Most resorts have affordable housing or dorms and give you a free ski pass. I'm from GA btw.

I'm gonna have too write a cover letter which I honestly didn't know was a thing(they should really cover that in schools). So thanks for that too lol

@@robert17282 Happy to help! I'd just Google examples of one and slightly edit it so it's personal. It's merely a formality. With your good attitude you will land a job wherever you like.
As a side note: many resorts will have Employee dorms of some sort. Makes moving that much easier because you aren't having to sign a 1 year lease to rent a place.

Sun valleyâŠ. Too rich for my local Idaho bloodâŠ.. sad
I understand that. I'm "redneck" from GA. Lol. Only able to afford skiing here by being an employee and renting a room from my bro south of Sun Valley in Hailey. It's a great place to work for a season no doubt! In what part of Idaho do you live?
Baldy!!!!
You got it! Ski here often?
What mountain and are you a cook ? đ
Bald Mt. In Sun Valley. I'm a server. Thanks for asking! Don't know why I didn't reply earlier :/
That is why we allow all our workers to bring their skis/snowboards to the Mt. Top restaurant. Chairlift breaks just ski down or take the snowmobiles.
They allow us to but I didn't have my gear with me. đ„Č
Where do you work?
@@thegoodobserver First mistake gotta keep that stuff on you at all times! đ. I work at a small resort in the New England area. Your video was entertaining though I can't believe you have to take that many chairs to get to the restaurant if your main lift breaks! We just have a single gondola and if that breaks the restaurant is closed with no other alternatives.
@SteveHawkingsLegs đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł So true! Took me a couple weeks to learn that. Got it in my car at all times now.
That sounds nice. I wouldn't mind an impromptu day off every once in a while. Instead of the maze up and down lifts to work. Lol.
Never skied in the north east. Definitely would like to one day. I grew up skiing some in North Carolina so when I first came out here it blew my mind. Still does.
Have you skied out west much?
You should be allowed to ski to work
Iâm there currently. I work on Marmot Basin and I get to ski everyday to work hahaa
lifeâs so crazy atm
Where is this
Baldy in Ketchum, ID. Do you know this area?
W rizz
US resorts have such unacceptably old lifts.
Why so unacceptable if properly maintained and inspected? There's never been a problem on any of these Lifts that have caused injury.
Is it not better for the environment to use equipment as long as possible? Especially if it's made from heavy metals that require mining.
Besides, the only reason they replace ski lifts is for faster speeds and more carrying capacity. These lifts could easily last another 50 years.
It's kind of like vehicles. People will get rid of their perfectly fine car to "upgrade" merely for vain reasons. Not out of necessity.
Personally, I love using things as long as possible.
To each his own.
Thanks for commenting.
Happy New Year!
@@thegoodobserver because slow, old lifts mean more time on the lifts than on the piste and less ability to resist weather leading to shutdowns at moderate winds.
It is especially annoying given the frankly extortionate lift prices in US resorts.
Lifts aren't made of heavy metals. They're made of steel and aluminium.
Lift tickets are insanely expensive! $200+/day where I'm at.
The lift lines here are non existent though. During peak season you might wait for 5 minutes max. I've heard it's not that way most places.
I said heavy metal in the sense of it being heavy to me. Not in a scientific sense. You got me there. Lol.
If you're able to ski and complaining about a 2 minute longer ride then maybe do some soul searching. That's a horrible attitude to go through life with.
@@thegoodobserver Five minutes is a long time anywhere. I've rarely waited longer than that anywhere in Europe.
It's not about 2 minutes. European runs are LONGER, hence I don't want to spend an accumulated hour a day extra on lifts, why would you? No one takes a week's holiday to sit an extra 6 hours a week, basically a wasted day on lifts.
If anything that's a better attitude as it's about the boarding, not sitting on an unreliable, slow, exposed old lift. I was on a lift at Tahoe I could basically throw my board up the hill quicker than and for half the week many of the lifts were shut because of a bit of wind that modern European lifts could easily handle.
Give me a high speed 6/8 heated chair with weather cowl over a shit old 4 man exposed, weather susceptible chair any day of the week.
Many resorts in Europe are many times bigger than anything in America, the lift pass costs âŹ69 a day which is nothing really.
I'm not being down on the US, but they could learn a hell of a lot from European resorts and make something truly world class, because one thing you do have is better snow usually in many places.
Sometimes it feels like hot tub time machine in the US, it is like stepping back 30 years in a US resort (not just ski resorts either)
I don't know any US resorts other than the one I'm at. Sun Valley. You could very well be right about all others but definitely not this one. I was just speaking with one of my coworkers who is here from France and he absolutely loves skiing here. Again that is specific to this resort. You've inspired me to do some research and make a video. Should be interesting to see the differences!
Where have you skied in Europe and where have you skied in the US?
Sure looks like Idaho
Sure is!
Aww
You can't slide down the hill? I was excited for you. Now I'm not.đ
Lol. I always want to slide down it when up there. Especially after riding a cold lift!
Here's some slidy action for you though! :)
czcams.com/users/shortsPVGJpsNCq6Y?feature=share
Why did you just go in circles?
Good catch. I'm a server at the Roundhouse restaurant which is located about 3/4 up the mountain. A gondola runs right to it but that morning the gondola was being operated on. So we had to go up to the top using different lifts then back down to the restaurant. Drawn on a map it would look like a fish hook or something like that. Lol. Hope that answers both comments. You ski?
Looks like Squaw
