I bought serato sample a couple years ago with 50% off discount i bought it for 49 dollars instead of 149 dollars which is the regular price, Glad i bought it back then, saved myself a 100 dollars.

Other than stem separation. Is there anything serato sample does that the sampler in MPC doesn’t do? A video on this might be interesting.

from my observation its worth it if you really want to manipulate samples and chop easily, that random chopping feature is cool. When you have your chops or loops ready to go in serato and ur ready to make the beat you just drag serato in the playlist right? you dont need to export the chops?
serato i know u are on the look out, a neat extension to this would be to extract one shots from chords and melodies, and indivdual drums into a drum kit. NEXT LEVEL
Technically you can take individual 1 shots from drums. Like serato studio you can play the drums on their own without any other instrument then chop them up. the quality is not as clean tho half the time.

I updated serato sample to 2.0,but it doesn't work in my older projects.
When I load up an older project then it doesn't see my previous samples, and just show "load sample"
Meanwhile if I roll back i can see it still recognise my samples.
A bug? I've used serato sample for a while so pretty crucial for it not to remember my used samples.
I don’t know if it is just me or what but I can not use serato sample. No matter how much I want to I have been at about 50% of it getting tempo and key of loop correct (even when it is labeled in file) smh. MPC key detection & bpm detection have surpassed it at about 80%. And mixed in key live about 95%. Am I missing some settings or algorithmic changes or what?
i use serato sample 2.0 on my macbook pro 14" with m1 max and 64gb ram within my mpc software. but everytime i use it, i hear crackle sound issues in my speakers which make SS2 useless for me. do anybody have the same issues and know how to fix that??

hopefully serato sample stems sep gives the option to turn down the sep instead of removing it completely. Just like the mpc.
so i downloaded serato sample 2.0 and when i installed it, not only did 2.0 didn't come up - but the old version didnt either. am i doing something wrong with installation? i tried the repair, i tried removing it, and nothing seem to work. i had to re-install the old version (for the old version to work again) >> laughing!!

how did you get to Manual Chop tho? I didnt see what you pressed? mine is also not getting rid of anything when i turn off drums? wondering if i need to upgrade my ableton live
It take a lil bit for the Serato to calculate the stems. Also, I did show you how to do the manual chops. I literally walked through it. All you have to do is go to a Laura octave on your keyboard make sure that the playback mode is set to long press.

Broski you can hit that Quantize button and then autochop. It will snap to grid.

@@themrworldwide What’s good. This is the process i am describing. I first turn on the quantize button (Q button on the top right). 2. Load a sample and let it play. 3. As the sample is playing, i press either the pad or piano key setting sample marker as the sample is playing. With the quantize button activated, the markers snap directly at the beginning of the slice. You don’t have to make too many fine tuned adjustments. Being on the beta team and countless back and forth feature suggestions they finally created the monster. ~Richie Ballad.

Yes. I used Serato Sample for years before switching to Serato Studio. It's the sampler portion as its own VST.

@waynes.7658 You must be the only user that has to pay, because I own it for a long time, and this update was free for me and probably for all of us who own it, besides you, that's strange, maybe you didn't activate the license because everytime you install serato sample or an update, you have to connect serato sample with your serato website user account to activate or use the license key they gave you when you bought it.

I'm not sure if you're using your chops to their full potential in this tutorial - when you make a chop you'll see the two triangles on it, that's the beginning and end of the chop. I see you just leave those untouched. Essentially you're just making markers, not chops..
Nice vid as always however that “key lock” is why the music is sounds all of that simple these days. You don’t get passing tones and so on. You also don’t grow as an artist in my opinion. I get it though. That’s all part of this generation
If it wasn’t for scale locking, they would be far less people making music meaning they will be far less people purchasing any of these products. Accessibility isn’t a bad thing.
