Surströmming is quite reqional, its very popular up in the northern sweden, it is quite popular in the southern sweden as well, but not as much. The smell is quite harsh, but you should open it under water. And the taste aint that bad, its just salt really, its the smell that makes it bad.
How to eat surströmming: Take a small amount (Like a spice). Put it on bread with potatoes, onion, sourcream, dill and anything you like. Eating it like this is like eating a teaspoon of cinnamon instead of a tiny bit in your cinnamon roll.
As a Swedish person i am like ``Where the hell are they getting these things i have never seen some these snacks and drinks in Sweden ever`` Then i´m searching them up and half off it is not even Swedish lol. A kid at my old school put a can of Surströmming in one of the ventilation ducts about two days before an exam he hadn't prepared for, and it kinda worked because it took them a couple of days before they finally found the can and it took almost a full week to air out the school 🤣
Liver paste, and solo is norwegian haha. Smash is also norwegian but here it has the swedish OLW branding. So its probably produced in sweden Grilstad jubelsalami is also Norwegian There’s one thing almost everyone trying swedish snacks forgets to eat… its Ahlgrens Bilar.

To correct you a little, faxe kondi is danish but I bet they also produce it in sweeden. Also its made with dextrose sugar, which ive heard is less unhealthy than plain sugar(But Im not quite sure about that). Dextrose is great though to make a sweet whipped cream! Anyways I love these vids, hope you check out icelandic snacks soon. I think youd like our star chips!
@@maxklymenko While I have you here if you are curious where to get Icelandic goodies. I am not sure if there are any in the uk(I assume thats where you guys are based) because it all gets mixed in with the frozen food store iceland when googling😅. But if you guys ever make your way to Copenhagen there is a store called Icefood. It serves both Faroese and Icelandic products!
Liver pate is eaten in Sweden and Denmark too, it also does not originate from Norway, a frenchman brought it to Denmark and then it spread from there. Though that particular one he has is a Norwegian brand, and regarding Smash, yeah it's Norwegian but also sold in Finland and Sweden

You have to eat surströmming with the correct accessories (?), otherwise it's uneatable 🤣 I try it from time to time, always surprised by the strong taste
By now everyone knows not to open it indoors because it’s not supposed to be opened indoors nor eaten straight from the can. Nice try nonetheless, always entertaining.
Well you did that all wrong 😅. Not only is it an outside food, you only put a small amount on the bread, like a condiment, NOT BITING A WHOLE CHUNK! You have the constitution of a bear...
solo is not swedish, faxe kondi is not swedish, spunk is not swedish You claim to have 4 university degrees yet you cannot do basic research about food?
For context, what Max did with the Surströmming is the equivalent of sniffing salt in how he consumed it. It is much tastier if you eat it correctly.
As a swede I have never smellt surströmming nor have I heard about a lot of these random snacks he's purchased.
Then you are not swedish!
Maybe it's regional? I think surströmming is pretty popular
The leverpastej, Solo, salami and Smash (originally) are Norwegian products. This video is a bit of a hit and a miss tbh. /Swede in Norway

Eating it like this is like eating a teaspoon of cinnamon instead of a tiny bit in your cinnamon roll.

Welcome to Sweden mate!
Here in germany, eating surströmming actually became a very popular challenge on CZcams
You should have tried the surströmming the "traditional" way, on flatbread with some other things that make it taste really good
As a swed, has never sen a lot of this things.
Solo, lever pate (Leverpostei) and smash is Norwegian!
SORRY

Why would you do this to you self but you got almost every swedish persons respect for doing it

Faxe kondi is danish. Also approved by the danish monarchy if i remember, prefer coca cola zero tho.

That taste will probably stay in your mouth for eternity
Faxe kondi is from the danish town Faxe
Do not leave that can inside the office building for three days what the fuck. You might as well start smoking cigarettes indoors

In my opinion Durian smells really good but no shot durian is stinkier.
almost vomited when in 20 meter range of a surströmming
Durian has nothing on surströmming. It will fill your entire house.

No, it's fermented. It does, however, have an extremely putrid smell, which makes it easy to confuse with rotten fish.
