- Hello There. This is our debut on youtube with the Duel of the Fates fight from Star wars the Phantom Menace with a few tweaks here and there. All credit for choreography goes to Nick Gillard and the incredible stunt team that worked on the Phantom menace.

@@JeffreyBarkdull This fight is just like the prequels. Humans love seeing Action so it would make sense that they would be able to get a good glimpse of the entire fight, while in the sequels there’s SOOO many god damm cuts in the fight. Wherever the lightsaber goes the camera will follow it and they will make a cut in the scene. While in the prequels you can get the view to see everything that they’re doing to see how skilled a true Jedi can be.
Also lightsaber fight scenes in the sequels is just so meh. They’re just hitting each others lightsabers, there is no true fight happening. While in the prequels and original trilogy showed who was attacking and who was defending, take anakin vs obi-wan fight scene for example, you can clearly see that anakin has been studying Form V lightsaber combat to make offensive aggression and powerful strikes, while obi-wan had studied Form III which is made for maximum defence to find weak spots for their fighter and also to keep up in a fight for a long time.
Let’s also take Obi-wan vs Darth maul in the phantom menace for example, after seeing his master being slaughtered he charges in with full hatred trying to avenge his master, you can clearly see he was the playing offence while maul was using Obi-wan’s anger to his advantage to find weak spots when Obi-wan would let it out on Maul while he would counter Obi-wan, but with Obi-wan’s anger and dedication he is able to keep up with Maul showing how serious and impactful the fight is.
Now the sequels… they’re just targeting the lightsabers. There is no true fight happening in the sequels.

The fact that the choreography is nearly identical to the original save for some improvements on the end there really tells how good that fight really was.
This deserve way more like. The choreography is almost identical.

I've seen the duel between Qui Gon and Kenobi vs Darth Maul probably 1000 times and I must say this looks almost Identical

Mate I have so much respect for this! The choreography is sick! Also the amount of patience you got animating those lightsabers frame for frame is insane. I animated about 5 seconds of lightsabers the other day and it took me half an hour so I don’t even wanna think how long this took you. I will watch your career with great interest 🤙

This was like seeing it all again for the first time. Mauls use of a single light saber was even more viscious than the double beam. Definitely my favourite duel in the series, perfect balance of flare and actual danger, i don't think i'd be able to fight two jedi at the same time, nor take on a sith that killed my master...but there's no turning back. I especially like the qui gon gin actor, very fluent body moments, footwork and perfect balance. Very force led

The choreography is almost scene for scene perfect with the phantom menace and trust me I recognize all the moves from that fight

There are physical blades being used with vfx over them. There are a couple of shots that are 100% vfx. The shots where the blades ignite and turn off

In the sequels, the professionals literally just do spins but when a random CZcamsr does it, the professional’s work look like a children’s imagination.

Are these lightsabers visual effects editing or physical lightsabers?
There are physical lightsabers for all the dueling, they have effects added ontop of them. The only time there is no real blade is when the lightsaber is turned on or off.
Why doesn't disney just hire these guys.
