Which then frieza and his dad comes to earth later to get goku. And the Androids weren't the only thing created by gero... he created cell as well. All because of goku in one way or the other.
9:18- Announcer-sama is a real one. He knows for SURE that Hercule didn't do a damn thing to beat Cell and you know that man has been watching some boring tournaments when the Z Warriors peaced out. He would welcome the ring getting destroyed again.
As heartwarming as Goku & Goten's meeting was, my personal favorite moment from Goku's return was the tournament announcer sneakily asking Goku if he and his crew were the ones to beat Cell rather than Mr. Satan. In the Funimation dub at least, we hear Gohan's inner monologue about how at least there's one person who knows how awesome my dad is. That warmed my heart so much!
What's hilarious is that if Goku didn't come back, Vegeta wouldn't have had a mental breakdown and would have defeated Babidi and his men with Gohan and the others. It's so funny how this arc proves Goku's point at the end of the Cell saga.
I'll never forget my absolute favorite non-action scene was Goku meeting Goten... Goku: "Hey Chi-Chi, I think there's a little ME behind you..." Goten: ".......DADDY!!!" *Runs straight to Goku. Hugs ensue." I fuxking tear up watching that😢

It should be important to remember that when Bulma and Chi Chi were forcing their perspective on how Pan should be raised and on what they should make her be interested in, Videl opposes that and claims that she wants Pan to be who she wants to be, and is clearly less stingy than the other two.
Loved everything about this section of the story, all of it was so gold and felt like homecoming for DB. Goku and Krillin's interactions, Goten and Goku's and the announcer being the same one from years ago just great overall and had the vibe of being a festive party. Kinda feels like going back to an old playground you used a lot as kid and laughing at how seriously you took playing games with friends on it.

The comedy would be unmatched, especially since Goten and Trunks go to school, so they would have to endure people making extra sure they don’t piss them off

Hercule rallies the people that is ultimately the reason why Kid Buu is defeated and Goku being there as the last hope of the group. Begins and ends with both of them. IIRC, Goku is the only one who doesn't actively make fun of Gohan for his Saiyaman get up. Later in Super he avoids asking Gohan to fight even though Veg wants him to until it's life or death. Goku might not understand Gohan's feelings on fighting but he wants his son to be happy
