    Thanks! I want to eventually get into blender, it’s been on my computer for over a year…
    Hope you had a great break.

    I love this. The conveniency and accessibility this is moving forward to is promising.
    The whole single USDZ file approach with everything packaged in there. The ambient occlusion baking on export (didn’t know that was a thing in blender during export, usually go somewhere else like Substance Designer for that).
    Would be great to see a full fledged rendered one day in Motion (if it is like Unreal Engine or the like can be good enough), one that lets 3D objects layers interact between each other, cast shadows, etc…
    Else, I think the motionVFX’s mO2 successor might come packed with an extra punch on this front.

    Super stoked about this!
    They had a working USDZ import/export back in 2.8 but until now have not had a fully working option. This is so useful for graphic design work and replaces multiple plug ins I was using in motion as a workaround but haven't worked since the new updates without dumbing down my system to the rosetta version (of a native app..um...no).
    I just tried it with several iterations of exported models and it works great.
    Now if we could only get the SSS, transparency and refraction... (I know that's crazy talk!)

    hey little brother - thanks so much for your tutorials. i got this one and the motion tracking in apple - you have a talent for making complicated things so simple. good on you. tried to do this on my dell laptop but the export doesn't show up in the file menu - works on my apple air book though!

    Hi Dylan great video, one of your patreons here, do you know why a few of the usdz that i downloaded from sketchfab dont actually show up when i import them into Motion.... basically i have mtracker 3d from motion vfx and found a tutorial on how to add usdz models to their limited 3d object library. fortnately some worked and are now available in my fcpx titles (under mtracker3d) but like i said some i cant add since they appear blank when i import them into motion but when i check them out in finder they are visible...

    I see tons of tutorials about exporting from Blender to AE for compositing and adding other effects. Can Motion stand up to that sort of thing? Or do you have to go with AE if you want to do more effects on top of the blender render?

    Hi Dylan thanks for this. Just a short question. Why we need to import 3D object formed in Blender to Motion 5. Lighting camera etc. all can be done within Blender much faster.

    • @TheFinalCutBro
      @TheFinalCutBro  Před rokem

      Yes it can! And much better I might add. The main benefits being, you could technically create a plugin that has whatever 3D object you created, and bring it into FCP. Another benefit being, if you don’t know how to use blender, and you purely just want to get a 3D model into software you do know, this would be a great way to do it. The final benefit being, you might want to mix 3D objects with 2D animation. Blender has absolutely incredible 2D animation tools, but it’s generally much simpler to pull off in Motion that’s almost completely designed around 2D animation.
      In the end it’s just another way to use your tools in whatever way you like. Appreciate you watching!

    Hey Dylan. Love the tutorials! I'm trying to export an usdz file for Motion. The Blender project has a logo material on it. I used a png. But, when I export a usdz file the logo is warped! Am I missing a step?

    Hey Cuz, Great video! Does this work with animated 3d models that you can download off of turbo squid and then converted to USDZ? It’s been a pain! I really want to use really cool animation models with my mtracker 3d but 75% of them aren’t USDZ, and Mo2 doesn’t work with M1. Thank you 🙏

    • @TheFinalCutBro
      @TheFinalCutBro  Před 2 lety +3

      Yes indeed it does! I will say, there was another comment pointing out what to do for more complex models, I will copy his comment here from Deyson Ortiz "Also, if the original Blender is complex, we may need to export to a .glb from Blender and then use Reality Converter to export the USDZ. 😊"

    Hello (from Paris Francis) Il like very much all your tuto. I have a question about USDZ on Blender. With the 3;0 version I don't find the way how to export in USDZ files ?
    DO I need a plug in for that ? Thank's for your help

    • @TheFinalCutBro
      @TheFinalCutBro  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello to Paris Francis! You do need to install the plugin for Blender. If you follow the link in the description, you will see the download there! And then the first part of the video explains how to install it. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching 👊
