As children of God, we may wonder why it seems as though our spiritual lives are declining, even though our schedules are filled with activities that are good, such as, church responsibilities, our family commitments, careers and businesses that help us support the work of God. But have you stopped to assess whether all these activities have taken the primary position in your schedule, life and heart, placing God and fellowship with Him through His word and prayer in second place?
Apostle David in this life changing sermon explains that if the commitments we have, absorbs and engage us in such a way that they hinders our commitment to prayer, reading the Bible and communion with God, then evil results are sure to follow. This is because the Bible in the book of 1 John 2:15-19 instructs us to give God His rightful position in our hearts and not the world. Meaning that communion with God should be first in all our doings and everything else should be secondary.

This is the most appropriate slap on both cheeks I needed, I have been making excuses for my declining prayer life and bible reading in the name of Work, Children, and Husband. Little did I realise that I am making them my God and if I continue in this path, the probability of losing all of them at once is very high for there is no protection or maintenance on my end. And it will be a cycle again, I will run back to man of God for prayers and still not make time for maintenance. Lord help me to help myself!
37:09 I must realise that the things that keep me working hard without praying to God and keep me busy do not serve the divine ends of my peace, joy, gratitude, unity with one another.
When prayer is absent in what i do, whatever i do serves discontentment confusion and dissatisfaction

41:27 Advice
1. Live a balanced life. Work hard and make money but involve God in all i do. Pray and read bible. Learn His ways. Seek to please God at all times.
2. Let God be my guide, His word to channel my ways and His word be my mirror.
NB it is not the sinful things that choke or hurt my prayer life, but also the good, acceptable, commendable and right things in themselves
