I hear ya. The Trilogy era was just so different from the 21st Century Breakdown era. Heck, I remember when the Trilogy was released this performance was only two years old and yet it felt like a lifetime ago.
i remember watching this episode when i was like 7 and i was like “wow these guys are cool” but then i forgot the name of the band and im glad ive found it again
All you people who comment leave out the most important person with the best skill with their Instrument and thee backbone of the band that makes it all possible and happen. Mr. TRE COOL
This was 2010. I remember seeing them not too long after this performance and being upset when Billie walked on stage with bleached short hair. Haha. great performance!
Look at all the band wearing punk clothes and punk instruments, and we have Jason who decides to wear grown up clothes, and a jazz guitar (Gibson ES) like he's in a jazz band lol.
Flora Moura Correct! Also, there are multiple Green Day songs which utilise styles of other music genres and sort of make a fusion dance with Punk into becoming a Green Day song, like King for a Day from Warning, which utilised saxophone, trumpets etc.
Well there are multiple of GD's songs which do in fact contain jazz elements, like King For A Day which utilises a saxophone, trumpets etc. Also, Billie is pretty much the only one who is dressed in a recognizeable punk image - Jason isn't the only one dressed formal, as Tre Cool is as well, and the guy on keyboard is as well, while Mike isn't dressed particularly punk when viewed out of the context of who he is, he's just dressed pretty casual.
This is a great reminder that these guys are still human. Billie looks so nervous at the beginning. I mean, seriously, he looks more nervous than the guy getting to play with fuckin' Green Day. Viva la Green Day.
Forget about their haircuts, focus instead on the content of the song or maybe the fact that Green Day, in collaboration with artist Frank Caruso, has turned this song into a book to draw more attention to the inherent inequality in treatment of girls/women in the US.
In this era Billie was 99% hair and 1% Billie
lmao
Valentina C he was 99% hair and 100% Billie ;)
***** I need a bja bobblehead.
***** yeah, it's most likely a thing. I want one of all three.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Green Day will be legends forever
They already are......
TheEvanFoster 98 In my book (which takes place in the year 2093), one of my main character’s favorite bands is Green Day. 😊😊
Thank you. They r Legends.
And it is time to repeat it one more time. :)
YES
mikes backup singing is so underrated wow
There's also two jasons singing
There are a few singers along with Mike, and that wouldn't be surprised if there was some playback.
Him and BJ's voices just mesh so well. Mike has the perfect voice for those flat harmonies.
Green Day is love. Green Day is life.
And what about Shrek?
love it that billies voice live sounds same as recorded
Is it even legal for a 37 year old man to look that damn good?
+Superbad Films Yes, but he was 37 when this was filmed. He's actually 43 now.
+Superbad Films It's cool! haha
+Superbad Films *43

DrumMan190 agreed.
Still love the way Tre looks when he drums, sitting behind that kit over the moon and banging away in his own little world.
I miss his hair like this 😭😭😭
Mike's background singing is underrated.

abrams455 5 years ago, yet a completely different era. 21st Century Breakdown and its tour was just great if you ask me.
I hear ya. The Trilogy era was just so different from the 21st Century Breakdown era. Heck, I remember when the Trilogy was released this performance was only two years old and yet it felt like a lifetime ago.

Flora Moura Correct! Also, there are multiple Green Day songs which utilise styles of other music genres and sort of make a fusion dance with Punk into becoming a Green Day song, like King for a Day from Warning, which utilised saxophone, trumpets etc.
