Great video! Thanks! BTW, I live in Oklahoma, so I've been drying herbs in my hot car! Usually only takes one day! I dried sliced plums and apples in the car, too!
Thanks. I have had zero interest in this kind of thing, until taking over a coworkers orphan herb garden. It's all very interesting, and it sounds silly but I love it now.
I have got all three daughters into gardening. In fact one daughter’s husband now wants to become a farmer and grow his entire food supply (veggies, raise pigs, chickens, etc) I’m having a terrible time trying to propagate sage. You have answered a lot of questions here. Going out to try your tips! Thank you.
I did enjoy your video. You have inspired me to try drying leaves from my sage plant. I shall also attempt to propagate pieces to share with friends 😊. Thank you so much! Keep those thumbs green 😉. Lady Bell
This has been so helpful and you have a great kind way of explaining things. Thank you for sharing your experience, knowledge and love for herbs. All the best with your continued gardening
Thanks for the info! Trying the propagation today for the first time...never had any luck but I'm gonna use your technique . Have a safe one brother :)
Thank you Khang, You have given me the best advice that I have gotten yet. I am a city girl afraid of natural things because it isn't in a jar :) I have had sage for years. I make home made sausage which call for sage and I was buying sage because I didn't know how to dry my sage. you have been very helpful.
Your sage plants are the prettiest I've seen. Just starting out from seed at this point, but hoping my plants look very similar to yours as opposed to the more slender leaves. Thanks for sharing!
Khang, thank you for this well thought out, well presented and total start to finish of a project. I am growing sage this year and plan to follow your advice.
Might not be necessary depends where you are. My winters can drop to below 0 and my sage has started to regrow without much help. Very resilient plant.
Thank you very much for this video Khang. We have moved to a house that has a huge sage bush and I wondered if I could propagate it and maybe gift it to friends and family. Your video is just what I needed. Thank you once again.
What a great video. You left no stone unturned. Your videos have really helped me with my horrible gardening skills. If I could only figure out why I can´t get cilantro and parsley to grow... I live in Mexico City so I think the climate is right. I just propagated some sage (salvaje) that I bought from the supermarket. I hope it works.
Thanks for the tips, the sage we have is the thin pointy leaf kind. Last year we grew some but the squirrels ate it all, and now they have come back after not doing anything to protect them over the winter even in -20 weather. hardy plants thats for sure. Hopefully i get to dry some this year.
A simple, elegant plant. Thank you. I've been growing this past year but haven't used any in cooking. I have given as gift. Very pretty. I'm drying some now and will use soon.
Hey my new best teacher 👍👍👍 Thanks for all the information. . I just got my Ghost chillies up an running. .they look very small but I guess there grow next year Thanks again . Pizz
All of the rosemary in my garden came from a prepackaged fresh supply of springs from the store. I used half of it to bake a lamb roast and the remaining half to root in water. I planted those sprigs and I’ve since propagated from those plants. Now I’ve got rosemary coming out my ears. It’s a lovely prolific plant that really adds to the garden all year long.
I'm a senior citizen and I grow beautiful chemical free sage but didn't know how to dry it, keep it, and root it. Thanks so much for sharing this with us! Have a blessed weekend #KhangStarr John 3:17
The sage you show is culinary sage and the cultivar is, I believe, Sage 'Berggruen.' This culinary sage is rather different that the long-leaved sage, which I guess could be used for culinary use, but is stronger and bitter, but the plant has wonderful profus purple flowers in summer that are much loved by bees.
Thanks for all the tips. I am starting my really hot peppers in your double-cup method. It is working really great since I started. I also started Kratky method outside (about 8 gallons of water, and only two plants: tomato and pepper, and they are doing great as well. God bless you, I love your videos.
I guess you grow pots from pots (looking at your prof pic), but that's Ok :D - Sorry if this joke does not make sense to you, I'm not a native English speaker, I'm Hungarian - Anyways, Happy gardening to you as well! :)
I got you! hahah yep! I love the flowers, but I also love all types of gardening, this kratky is more of an experiment! Saludos im From Republic of Panama!

very helpful! my sage is dealing with root rot and i cut the stem in order to attempt propagation before the entire stem dies.
Great video bud. As always.
Nice video, Khang! I tried to propagate some store bought oregano as you did in your video, and it's working! Thanks for the tips and inspiration!👍🏻🌶

If you try Kratky outside make sure your roots and the water does not get sunlight. Otherwise as you may guessed it, you will just grow algae.
Nice job.
