I bought both v11 and v12 based on your recommendation. They probably did v12 like that because the "socky" v11 has a very sensitive laces configuration that can cause more heel friction. But v12 becomes gigantic in some sizes because of these changes and feels less exciting on foot. Both have excellent durability.
Love the colorway and how subtle the badging is. Looks like the rocker is much more subtle too. Definitely gonna check em out. Thanks!

got these myself in the all black (black midsoles too). wore them all around amsterdam in the rain, and felt really good and held up well. was impressed as an everyday walking sneaker. although not super impressed with the styling. the inside side panels remind me of sketchers. i wear normal width for the mores and 990v6, but im happy I went with the wide version of these. super comfy overall and def looking forward to the new mores (goretex please!).

I ordered a pair on the day they started selling and got them a week ago. They are more cushy than the v12 and have a slight rocker feel. Love them so far!
I personally don't like the rocker feel. It's the reason I haven't liked the other 1080 versions. The v13 look like they don't have much of a rocker so I need to try them.

I have these. I have terrible terrible feet. Arthritis everywhere and the lower on my body the worse it is….. and I’m talking about my feet. My feet are still sore after wearing these but that’s my feet not the shoes. This is the softest shoe I’ve tried so far in my short time trying sneakers. Superior to the v12. It really is softer than previous fresh foam x shoes. Unbelievably soft. If you haven’t tried the v13 because you aren’t convinced they are lighter softer whatever - don’t have doubts. It’s a phenomenal shoe. I had to go wide size as usual - but it’s amazing. I edited this just to ad - the only real issue I had with the v12 is I would have liked just a bit more cushion (mainly in the forefoot near the ball of my feet) probably just a few mls would have been great - I’m not having that issue with the v13. Freakishly soft. Fucking edited this again 😂😂 just as the video was going on - the v13 for me has a far superior spring back responsive feel compared to the v12. I can’t imagine it’s close to like a race day shoe or something but there is some response. Better than the v12.
I’ve had my 1080 v12s for a few weeks now and can confirm they are stupidly squishy lol. Very comfortable for walking, especially on hard pavements. Not so great on uneven surfaces or rocky ground where pointy surfaces are not filtered out well (I.e. you can feel hard impacts when walking over coarse gravel or rocks). Also their stability sucks as the ankles are not very stable or secure. The runners knot helps here though.
If you are walking on relatively flat and even surfaces these are brilliant. Can’t see how you could get a more squishy, foot hugging feel.
For uneven surfaces and sloping ground I’d go for something more stable.
For running I’d also go for more stable and slightly more firmness to filter out the bruising feeling from striking hard ground.

I was hoping that the 1080 v13 released during the Summer month, but it's fine because I got the sc trainer v2 instead and they are next level comfort. I'll pick up 1080 v13 next year.

Nike released a "AMP" version of the Air Monarch IV. This version is supposed to be better than the regular Monarch IV but costs twice as much. Can you do a comparison video?
I tried on a pair of 1080 v13 yesterday. Love the new look. However, the midsole is just way too soft. It was like a dough of flour under my feet. I was able to press the forefoot down and watch the midsole shifting left and right with very little effort. A bit scary really.
Better than fuelcell super trainer 2 or the Nike Pegasus?
These new V13 would you suggest they are good for someone with bad knees/back who is not looking for speed but comfort and shockproofing on the road? If not what would you recommend for the knackered?
Nb has the best cushion shoes, with gd stability for daily running & casual wear but it has the worst outsole that won't last for more than 150km. Had bad experience with the 1080v12... In terms of outsole durability, puma & saucony are the best in market now.
Have you done a comparison of these with the Hoka Bondi 8?.

Been waiting for this review. I was wondering if you could compare these to the top cushion technologies like Zoom x and flight foam. Also I saw you have the fuelcell walker elites cooking up and I’m super exited for that one! Planning a trip soon and I needed a walker :)
It feels as soft as than the zoom x, but you don't get any bounce back like the zoom x after the compression
I notice that most ZoomX shoes can lose arch profile super quickly after break in, whereas the NB FreshFoam X seems to retain shape a bit better. However, the NB is much less responsive.
How much more squishy is the 1080v13 vs the Vongo V6?

Same! I just picked these up last week coming from the More V4's and honestly did not think they'd be that much more comfortable but daaaamn what a difference. Loving my V13s so far! The weight and softness is something you notice right of the bat
@@redstang70 More V 4 have great base for support - but this shoe is amazing , you can kiss the Hoka Clifton goodbye!!! I take these over the Nike invincible 3 zoom x - you just can’t beat this shoe for the price of what you get . Like I’m wearing even when I don’t have too !!??? lol. Got them for work, now it’s everyday for whatever
have these and the more v4 also, and agree, these are softer and i totally like the look better when the midsole stack isnt so crazy. my only complaint of the 13s is i didnt like the esthetics of the inside side panels, and im happy i went with a wide on the v13s and regular width on the more v4s.
Ok, I am noticing it’s not enough arch for me, also The insole sucks . But still a great shoe unless you have foot drama, then stick with fuel cell or More V4. I’m switching up to Invincible again.

So the most highly data driven shoes New Balance has is the 1080 & Vongo, I think the only difference is the Vongo line is a Stability shoe, for $160, I haven't seen anything come close to the comfort & all the goodies you get at that price point.

I really wanted to like these but my only complaint and reason for return was the heel cup was not deep enough for me and seemed to slide easily. Conversely, I love the free foam v4 and fuel cell v2.
I’m watching this again 😂😂 I just got the SC elite v4 because of my wide feet it will be the only “super shoe” I’ll ever get to try. Different to these obviously but what a feel man. Soft bouncy WIDE which is excellent. So excited for the rebel v4, sc trainers and more v5 (if the more v5 have the same foam as the 1080v13 which I believe New Balance have said they will - the more v5 will be mental) I have 2 more pairs of the 1080v13 on the way - that will give me 6 pairs 😂😂

What is the difference between Fresh Foam X 1080 Utility & the regular 1080 v 13?
I wore these on my recent trip to Disney World. For being on the move these shoes were GREAT. Made me feel like I can walk all day long with no issues. BUT these KILLED my feet when being stationary, having to stand in the lines etc. I suspected that it was the shoes and I definitely didn’t have that issue when I wore my $60 adidas lite racers in between days.

Interesting, didn’t know the Vongo was a stability shoe. I’ll look for that next time I’m at an outlet. I only have the v11 (also from outlet, copped for 70€ I think), and what I like about the v13 best is it has mostly gone away from the sock shoe look. Will probably get those when the v14 or v15 comes out 😅
I usually am 1 generation back with New Balance.
(I got my first pair last year around and this Black Friday I ordered a few pairs)
With the Black Friday discount I can get around 40-50% discount.
And in my case I got 2 pairs for the price of 1 pair retail.
I can not be picky with the colors but I still get quality.
I got the 1080v12s in an awesome black color and the Fresh Foam X v4s both at 40% discount so I will be set until Black Friday 2024.

The seam of the gusseted tongue on the v12's rubbed the top of my foot & was a deal breaker. Are the seam on v13's any better? Would have loved a durometer reading. Been waiting for your review on these. Thanks Hes!

6 months on after wearing my V13s to work nearly daily, they have lost ~3mm of stack height on the heel, but have kept the arch profile, and the whole shoe feels genuinely softer, but less springy than a brand new pair. They broke in like a glove, I could see another year of use with no issues! 🤞😃

I have both and it's really just preference. Both are awesome. If I had to chose just one it would be the V13 as it just fits my foot a bit better. But you cannot go wrong with either

I'd love to see the comparison to the vongo v6.
Vongo meant to be 'stability' version of the same shoe. Has a few firmer/heavier elements added toward the bottom of the sole meant to stabilize side-to-side motion. There is a 'Running Shoe Geek' video, 'Vongo 6 deconstructed' , which shows the details of the stability features well. Those who mainly prioritize soft-squish, and lightness, probably stick with 1080.

V13 cushioning is unreal. Way more “cloud” like than its predecessors.
Just making another comment - with my bad feet I’ve been wearing nothing but my 1080v13 and almost always my all white pair (I have 2 more on the way) the foam has definitely squished down a touch but they are still soft and comfortable barely noticeable & im 300 pounds 😮 if they can handle me wearing daily - they can handle almost anything
13 version wide feels narrower than v12 wide
If you count the white claws going in the other direction, then it's a 5 clawed hand for the reaper 😂😂
I wish they would put fresh foam and fuel cell in more of the lifestyle shoes to make them move comfortable

they are. took these to amsterdam and they were great. i personally prefer fresh foam over fuel cell or zoomx because if youre just casually walking and standing, the responsive mid soles make my feet hurt after a while. for casual walking and standing, hard to beat fresh foam.
Do they make a 1080 winter shoe?
No but they make a more v4 trail shoe with goretex I love the fresh foam in it and the waterproof trail pattern is great for city snow walking.
