While I prefer everything else in Hero, I have to agree that Soshite... was way more fitting for the transformation scene. What really threw me off in BorN was that Issei himself called out Juggernaut Drive when here (probably in the books too) it was Ddraig. The chant in BorN was darker/more menacing while here it sounds like Issei is overcome with Anger and is barely able to hold in his voice while he chants. Including the fight, I think that this version is by far superior however, for it was a little janky in BorN.

On one hand the retcon of the Loki thing from the last three episodes works given that even if you hadn't read the LN it was a weak story point. But on the other hand the Juggernaut Drive was much more powerful in Born. So in my opinion just take out the Loki stuff and keep the Born Juggernaut Drive than everything works out fine.
The force of Juggernaut Drive is way more powerful here in Hero than it was originally. You can literally feel how powerful it is; it literally obliterated the castle they were standing in, created pressure waves strong enough to knock Rias and company back, and changed the landscape. I don’t have an issue with the original transformation scene but I just feel like Hero did a better job of showing just how devastating it is even if you don’t get hit directly by it.
Pugachev has a valid point. In Born, we see how powerful the transformation is (Still Badass) but we don’t really feel how powerful it is. Hero doesn’t cut away from the transformation after it’s completed. We see and feel the effect it has.
The animation style is an eyesore in comparison to the animation style from Highschool DxD, New and BorN. I really don't understand how someone likes this style more than them.

I will drop this anime if you go to an eye doctor. And since I didn't read the light novel and didn't intend to read it in the near and probably ever lasting future. So as a logical conclusion, I really don't care at all if this was the "actual original artstyle" of the series or not. And yes, I indeed dropped the anime, because I can't stand watching this style, thank you.
It's one thing prefering older artstyles/animation to newer ones and another calling clearly superior animation an "eyesore". I can understand how people would like the edgier/darker artstyle of TNK to the softer/vibrant artstyle of Passion/source material. However you can't say that the animation and effects are objectively worse.

I love the Juggernaut Drive chants of both Issei and Vali. I memorized them both and always chant along with them in both BorN and Hero versions 😂

The problem with this version is that they decided to use Shouri, a heroic track rather than something menacing like the Born version

En Born fue bueno (una de las pocas cosas que tiene esa nefasta temporada), pero el resto fue un insulto a la novela.
