Both teams had trouble getting their offense going. Preseason hangover? All I can say is the 1st half was a real sleeper. Wake me up when they quit sparring.
It's a shame that St. Louis has lost two NFL teams over the years (the Cardinals and the Rams). As a Cowboy fan, I can't even begin to imagine what the folks in St. Louis were dealing with, knowing that 1987 would be the Cardinals final season there.
aargh...the Cardinals evil owner Bill Bidwell put a crappy team on the field every year...and then kept talking about moving the team..not the key to get a fan base to rally around you. We loved the Cards but the owner broke our hearts. We wanted him to sell the team, not move it! Cowboy fans would never understand the difficulty of this..I get it.
The first time the Cowboys have not opened their season on MNF since 1981. It's also their first-ever loss when they have opened their season on the road.
Sadly, the Cards could just never get it together. Still can't. Ownership plays a huge roll in sports franchises of course, and the Cardinals franchise has not had a good owner since 1928. I think Kyler Murray has figured this out.
Danny White was a great player who was never the same after the broken wrist in 86. The decline in Dallas was accelerated tremendously from that exact play forward.
Bradshaw comments about the poor crowd but people in St. Louis knew the team was moving so there was obviously diminished interest. The team did not move because of a lack of fan support. They moved because the city and county could not overcome their childlike petulance and get a new stadium deal done.
Walker cost my Cowboys this game by being too gutless. Look at him....LOOK and he ran out oof bounds a yard before the game winning first down marker. Cards had a good pass rush that day, My Cowboys came into the game with a depleted Oline and WR crew from gruellng preseason and Cards took advantage. That all being said, My Cowboys beat themselves....No Cards fan can say any different. We gotour revenge though in WK 16 by bodybagging both of our future tight ends Novacek and Awalt.
Richard Waldrup. That Cardinals/Saints strike game would be a true find. Actually, if the Cardinals would of beaten the Cowboys in the final game of the 87 season they would of played against the Saints instead of the Vikings in the Wildcard that year.
Those Cardinal uniforms of 1987 are better than their current uniforms
I was a Cardinals fan during this timeframe. Watching this game is like receiving an early XMAS present. Great upload Richard. Thanks.
This was the game that started my die hard fandom with the Cowboys and the NFL.

I believe this is the last game in St Louis vs Dallas in thier history together
All those empty seats, and they wonder why the team had to go.

@@DCussen I've always identified Cardinals with St. Louis more than the Rams even tho Rams won a SB when they were in St. Louis
Bidwell was a grade A asshole.
1988 was their last game in the same conference. They moved to Phoenix in 89

Jay Novacek with the cardinals
Bradshaw was actually good in the booth. I wish he had stayed there instead of going to the studio for pregame shows.
8:28 Cards had future Cowboy Novacek starting for them.
Thought I was seeing things
It's crazy how deep the cowboys had their RBs behind the QB...

Seeing those talentless Cowboys lineups is heart wrenching, as a fan of Tom Landry.
EmeAhG Dorsett , Walker , White , Cosbie talentless ???...... older ( except Herschel) but not talentless dude
@@fib455 randy white everson walls too tall
6:24 Quality playing surface, sold out stadium, endearing owner, what more does a franchise need to succeed?
S James In the Cardinals case, all three of those things.
That game was sold out only because it was opening day in the NFL....and the Dallas "Cryboys" were in town
I almost forgot about Curtis Greer. He was a really good pass rusher for the Cards, too bad his career was injury plagued.
12:41 - Terry Bradshaw pulling a Tony Romo here.

Saint Louis needs a new NFL football team!
Thanks Richard. A strike is looming. Do you have the Cowboys scab games vs. Jets or Beagles?
No not yet.
@@survivor5044 dick Stockton is insanely underrated.
Man, St. Louis was experimenting with a pretty high flying offense for some of this game there, but three drops will kill that dead.

Felony Strutter Walker was the only guy doing anything in that game. I’m not calling him gutless.
ur a blind moron just stop talking walker was playing his heart out for a shit team
Anymore st Louis games
Can you upload the 1987 Saints replacement games?
Yes I can. I have two out three, but still searching for Saints at Cardinals from 87.

I have that game, Saints at Cardinals replacement game.
