    That’s crazy!! That little
    Bead looks JUST like a barn owl. Wow. I’m rather new to CZcams as a professional wildlife artist ....I can tell I have a lot to learn. Ha ha. Thanks for putting out such a great tutorial and I look forward to more

    Thank you for showing the beginning shape info. I want to use my presses more but I always crack my bead release. I like the way you use your pick. I like to use mine to pull dots into hearts too. The marvering in between steps is so helpful. You taught me a new way to shape with my razor tool on this video. Leaving one color on top and not melted in is a great technique. I cant wait to try this one.

      Kerri Keffeler I use an exacto knife for every bead, but did move my pick from left to right side of torch, giving it honor. I made twisties and used it to even out my stripes, pulling them down around the blobs. Thanks to you again. ♡

    I will NOT be making beads like this. I'm still beginning to learn this craft.
    I'm a historical reenactor, and am interested in old traditional forms. That said, this video was very inspirational.
    Could you provide a materials list for each video?

    • @KerriKeffelerlampwork
      @KerriKeffelerlampwork  Před 5 lety

      I'm a reenactor as well and will be creating videos on period style beads in the weeks ahead that I hope you will enjoy! :) The glass I use in this tutorial is Effetre black and light ivory, Raku and Double Helix Aurae. I hope there are some techniques in this video that will inspire you and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out anytime! Thanks so much for watching!

    How did you make the raku stringer?

    • @ARivas-qn3yg
      @ARivas-qn3yg Před 4 lety

      You start with a rod of Reichenbach Raku colored glass. Heat the top of the rod in your flame, slowly rotating for melting evenness until you have a pea sized blob. Remove from the flame and let rest for a couple of seconds so the glow dims a bit (you may even see a "skin" or "film" appear, that's the glass cooling down and letting you know it is time to pull). Take your tweezers and grab a pinch of glass from the pea-sized blob. Hint: the longer you let it cool out of the flame, the thicker the stringer will be (hotter = thinner). Pull on the pinch of glass away from the rod in a straight line. You will now have a thinner line of glass attached to your main rod. Chill your tweezers in your bowl of water, and then come back and grab the stringer at the bottom where it meets the main rod. The drop in temperature should cause it to "chill off" (break off) from the main rod. If it doesn't, give it a wiggle with your tweezers until it does. Voila, you now have a raku stringer for decorating your beads! :) Hope this helps you.
