Honest question....I put a little more âvlogâ style video in this.:..(the minute long sequence in the beginning with our dog etc). How did you like that? Too long, loved it, not enough?
Loved it! Heâs gorgeous and so is the scenery
@@amygoddardmusic awesome! Thank you for that feedback! Iâm really trying to ride the line between telling a visual story and boring people. :)
I enjoyed it, as well as the clips from the town. Always love the scenery you bring us, along with great hair tips!! I liked that you finished up at home, giving us a glimpse of your Sunday evening - a little slice of life along with great hair info.
One of the reasons I love your channel is that itâs extremely unique, creative, funny, and educational.
Thank you!!! Stoked you liked it!
I love hearing an artist actually give practical advice and ideas for those like me who donât have the vocabulary or the depth of knowledge to communicate well with our stylists.
Awesome! Iâm so glad I could help ya out!
Your production is incredible - it's like a film. So much work you've put into this video with some really good advice! Perfect. Hope you all have a Happy Holidays.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to hear. I LOVE the cinematic aspect of video so Iâve really been trying hard to figure out a way to incorporate that into videos about hair (which for some reason, donât seem to typically go hand and hand on CZcams). I appreciate that feedback!
@@justinhickox it's so fabulous to hear from you. I watch you from the U.K so seeing the landscape is really interesting! Your cinematic style, particularly at the beginning was spellbinding - not too long, not too short, you started to get into 'the meat' of your subject at a good point (while still out in that incredible background.) I also couldn't help but notice the colour of your jacket with the monochromatic background. In a good way! ( I'm obsessed with colour! I figured that was a nod to the cinematic rule about yellows and blues.) Either way, the sweeping landscape shots, slo-mos, interspersed with more personal touches with your family worked brilliantly. Seamlessly. The comments at the end made me laugh too Thank you for your really helpful non-egoic advice. You keep doing you (please!) đ
Thank you!!! It's funny.....I literally bought that jacket for the EXACT reason you noticed! I wanted something that would contrast the normal outdoor colors to bring a bit more attention to me in the shots and just because I think it'll look good in photos out in nature! I'm stoked to hear it worked!!!! Thank you!
@@Demoiselle21 Beautiful comment!!!! Couldnât agree more!!!!!đ€©đ
@@mistycolley7018 thank you Misty. Hugs from the U.K đ€â„ïž
I enjoyed seeing your dogs watching your wife cook. They are like my cat and dog while I'm in the kitchen, quietly watching even though they know they're not getting any people food, yet they hope.
I love your incredible advice and knowledge. I love your giggle. The scenery you share with us is amazing, particularly as I'm in Perth, Australia without even a hill in sight. And your dogs melt my heart!!! More doggy views please.
Loved seeing Kevin and it all!... beautiful... people need this now at this time!!!
Thank you! Heâs a pretty special boy for sure!
Iâm just gonna throw this out there! I had a super short pixie cut from 2002-2018. I finally got tired of it and grew it to my collar bones. But, I couldnât seem to find a style that not only worked with my 49yo face, but also that felt like âme.â I knew I didnât want to go super short again, so I literally grabbed a last-minute screenshot of a shag before a hair appointment ~ think 1980s Joan Jett. I LOVE THIS CUT and canât believe I didnât âthink outside the boxâ for the 2 years my hair has been longer!đ My son says I look like an 80s rockstar ~ which is how I feel on the inside so apparently I nailed it!đ Sometimes it pays to completely shake things up. Always look forward to your videos!đ
I love this!!! If you've got the guts to totally shake things up....DO SO FOR SURE!!! Well done!
This is the best explanation of how to decide what hairstyle is right for each person. I have been in limbo for a couple of years and this actually got me excited about my next trip to my stylist. Thank you!
I have watched a lot of your videos and they are all well done. However, there is one thing I have not heard you discuss is how to cut/layer someoneâs hair that wants there hair to also be of a length that is easy to be able to put it up. I am 65 and very active and most of your videos for women over 50 seem to recommend cutting the hair too short for a quick ponytail or a french twist.
Thanks so much for always explaining these things in a way that makes sense to us "lay" people. Knowing not only these terms, but what they actually Mean, and will mean for me, (making it all click đĄ) really helps when I'm trying to communicate with the stylist, because I already have an idea of what I truly want.
Justin!! I tried Phatt Hair and woke up with volumne 3 days in a row! WOW! It is a great product for my soft, fine, thin hair! Thank you! Beautiful video . . .luv the dog đ Nancy
Just found you and am learning so much. Thank you! Now I'll search your channel for curly hair solutions, especially in regard to bangs or front layering for a short forehead with a strong halo and whether fine hair should be layered. I'm sure you have the answer somewhere!
Love the vlog style - everything about it is beautiful!
Awesome videos, love the scenery, such great, helpful content! You seem so cool & authentic and your family & fur babies are adorable!!
I learn so much from your videos. I enjoyed this one best of all. Your dog, Kevin, catching a snowball made me smile. Your wife and her âI have big feetâ made me chuckle. The beauty of snowy woods and water was amazing. That beautiful little town was such an awesome place. I actually had fun watching this one besides learning. Thanks for letting me âhang outâ with your fun family!đ
Beautiful scenery! That dog was amazing! Thanks so much for the thought that you put into your work. Iâd love to have someone like you cut my hair. As much as I explain and show photos, no one really does what I am wanting done. Iâm not asking for anything impossible. Just what I think would not only flatter my features, but work with my hair texture. The first thing I always tell any stylist Iâve been to is that I need fullness on the sides and I like hair with movement. Then they wash and condition my fine straight hair, the conditioner weighs my hair down so much that thereâs no possibility of any body, and the only movement I get is hair that hangs lifelessly.
Thank you so much! We feel pretty lucky to have him. Heâs a good dog for sure! Sorry to hear youâre having a struggle with finding the right stylist. Hopefully soon youâll be able to find someone that understands what youâre talking about.
Love this style of video Justin, so much more interesting than someone standing in front of a camera and just talking. Its also great to see some of your beautiful country. Much love and a Merry Christmas to you and your family, from my family here in Australia.
Justin!! Happy Holidays! Thank you for the beautiful outdoor scenes and the hair knowledge you have shared.
Another fantastic video! I liked the Vlog element and thought it was the perfect length. The way you entertwine instruction with lifestyle and other information is very engaging. Great job as usualđ
Thank you so much! That feedback means a ton to me! I really appreciate it!
Omg , I wish you were in NYC....you exceed the knowledge of the anatomy involving all aspects of overall BEST OF BEST appearance external and internal. Thank you for sharing your great knowledge with all...âŁâŁâŁ

Love this style of video. Stunning scenery and superb hairstyling tips. đđ»â€ïž

I love the views and seeing your family. Blessing in the coming year.
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you as well!
This is the first time Iâve watched you, and this is the third of your videos Iâve watched. You have very useful suggestions, and I will definitely watch more. I subscribed after watching the first video-youâre awesome.
Loved it! Yâall live in a beautiful area! Loved the snow especially!âïžâïž
Thank you Justin and family. Very professional video: Beautiful and heart warming. Also, God bless you for sharing so much knowledge. Much appreciated.
Happy to hear that you think (almost) all hair can be layered. So many hairdressers say you shouldn't layer fine hair. I need the movement in my hair or it hangs like droopy puppy dog ears.
OMG what BEAUTIFUL landscape absolutely breathtaking đ„° love watching your videos.
Right! That area is amazing! And thank you! I truly appreciate that!
Hi Justin, I personally really enjoyed the intro with this video. So tyvm! It does break up the monotony of too many typical how-to vids, plus itâs very interesting to see & hear & get to share your own experiences with us/others. Itâs great & refreshing to be able to share in your outdoor treksâ while youâre giving us pro instruction...kind of like school field trip time, right?-(that always made the learning more appealing & memorable, remember those? Lol!)- so, TYVM for that as well! All in all, Iâd say:âyouâre batting đŻ % here! đđđ»đ„°â€ïž Iâm thrilled to find your channel & videos with all of the questions & answers & content Iâve been trying to find, delivered in a personable & inviting wayyyy! TYVM, keep up the great work & many more please! Love you & your family, thank you so much for sharing your pro & personal experiences with usđđđ
Thank you SO much Sheila!!! I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying the content! I LOVE creating these style of videos, so knowing they are being received well is HUGE!!! I appreciate that feedback and support! Merry Christmas!
Love the snow and the City Christmas lights.

Love your videos and it was great to see your family, felt like you were hanging out with friends
A dog, snow, beautiful scenery, all were wonderful. And enhanced your production value
I'm googling hairstyles now, your video really helped me hone in on what to look for. Thank you!
Thatâs awesome! So glad I could help. Canât wait to hear what you land on!
There are billions on pinterest. Since stay at home order and lockdown haven't been able to get hair cut for over a year now. So I've become addicted with hunting down hair styles on google
Loved this video!! I purchased Phat Hair & have used it twice I will not be without it!! Gives great volume, curl or blow out straight!! I'm glad I watched the video on how to use the product. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thank you! And......that's AWESOME! I'm so glad you're liking Phat Hair! It's my favorite for SURE!!!! Thanks for sharing that! Merry Christmas to you and yours too!
Love this video! I so want to hang out with you and your family, lol! You all seem to have so much fun and live the nature walks, just amazing!!
Thank you for the wonderful videos, I look forward to every Tuesdays post.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Thank you! I'm so glad you love the videos!!! Means a lot! Merry Christmas to you too!
Great video. The background in the scenery shots look like they were shot in black and white! Because of you I am growing my blunt lob out and have gotten layers. I have a âlobâ with a long face. It was just adding to my long face. It already looks way better. Thanks for all your excellent tips. Who could ever not like your outdoor activity stuff!? Happy holidays to you and your family.
Justin, I always look forward to all of your videos. Love the "vlog" style.
Thanks for the beautiful day trip. I felt like I went somewhere without leaving my home. Now on to find photos for what I want! Thank you.
Thatâs awesome! Perfect compliment! Thank you!
How appropriate for Kevin to be in the snow đ. Those boots đ. Thank you for this. Being unable to put my hair up at the moment, Iâve been using barrettes which is monotonous and blah. I like layers, so great information. Happy New Year đ„ł
Lovely every time and beautiful advice every time!!!!
Fun & helpful post. Wow that filming & composition was amazing.
Ohh, gorgeous lights in the town!
Hi Justin thanks for your videos, merry Christmas and happy new year, may we all stay safe đ„łđ·đ€
I liked it ok because it provides a context. Thanks for revealing a bit about your personal life. Hello from Washington, DC.
Love Leavenworth! Just a beautiful little spot in the PNW.

Breath taking sceneries! đđ» great tips as usual.
Thank you! Yes, this place is amazing!!! Definitely going back soon!
This video did not start off the way I expected a video on haircutting to start :-) Then you said you had a course on how to cut own hair at home - at that point I subscribed, because I hate going to the hairdresser. Thanks for the video. Wonderful video, love the snow, the story telling and the location.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Love watching your videos.
Good to see Kevin! Great video!

I know this is about hair but man you have some soul going on there. I think you must be a awesome person in person. Thank you for the hair advice, I'm so unstable when it comes to hair.
So magically to watch also so helpful. Like you production . Thank you so very much!!!! đ„°đđŒđ·

Your Videos are Awesome Justin!! Don't stop doing what you're doing. Film the way you want. Merry Christmas to You and Your Family. I wish more hairdressers thought like you. I Love that Lob with the waves in your thumbnail. Gorgeous.

Love your videos! Very good at explaining hair styles!

Beautiful video with great information. I would love to have some long bangs but I sweat too much and would have to wash them every day...sometimes twice a day.
Really enjoying your videos and the beautiful locations you take us to. Love your dog , so happy in the snow! Bernese? Thanks very much.
Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family. đ

Fabulous video! I seriously wanna jump on a plane to have you cut my hair Thank you for the info and for advising us on how to properly search for the cuts we want to check out!

I really enjoyed the Christmas lights and the dog footage!! I have a husky, this is our fav time of year, snow and cold haha, up here in Canada! Very knowledgeable content with some nature, perfect combo! :)

As always such amazing information. Thank you. Heading to Leavenworth next week. Itâs the best.
Thank you! Glad I could help! Nice! I wish we could go when thereâs even more snow! That place is amazing! Have a great time.
Woaoo... I am impressed by all the details and advices you give. I really appreciate it ! I wish my hairdresser would follow you too.
I like all your videos. Such a great work ! The views outside are so wonderful, your family, your dogs, it is so great... Please continue as it is a pleasure watching your videos whilst listen to you. I am Frenchspeaking, living in Europe, so I apologise for the mistakes.
The only negative point that worries me is the advertisement cutting your videos.
Happy Holidays đ
Thank you so much! And trust me, you speak English FAR better than I speak French.....so ZERO judgment here! I appreciate the effort and you're doing great! I'm really glad you're liking the videos! I totally hear you about the advertisements, but for me, they're a necessity. I want to be able to bring you more content (as my full time job) but to do that, I rely on a part of that income coming from CZcams paying me (the ads are how they do). I appreciate you're support for sure! Thank you!
Loved this style... new subscriber here... Creative and excited to learn more from you.
Loved it. Your tips are great! I
hope I love my upcoming haircut...I seem to never truly get the layers/cut I've really always wanted đ whenever I show a pic, they always say 'that's the way its styled' or 'they have extensions'...its the shape or look when styled I'm trying to achieve đŽ
Wow!! Fantastic editing, music and content!!! đđŒđ€©

Thank you, that was very helpful and gives me a lot to think. As we are in total lockdown, my teenage daughter has been cutting my fine hair. I donât think she is able to do the layering in the back, but probably we can try some layers in the front...
Absolutely! I did a whole video about how to cut layering in the front. If she hasnât had a chance to check that out, it may help a lot. And make sure to check out the free webinar I do (link in the description of this video) all about how to cut/color hair at home.

Great video. Thank you.
Keep doing what you are doing, it's great! I'm still so confused about length and layers on my particular hair. And I just cut bangs shorter and maybe messed up. Watched your videos but I'm just inept. My hair tends to frizz so with winter and Portland weather it may be easier to keep one length for now. Hmmm. Still need an appointment, will call after the holidays.
Thank you! I totally hear ya with the frizz Wirth the good ol' Portland Sunshine! LOL. Looking forward to seeing ya after the Holidays!
