- It has been many years since I have lived in America and I have not been here since 9/11/2001
So, I wanted to see for myself, the Ground Zero.
I am glad that I went this year (2010) to see for myself this tragic destruction.
The morning commemoration was very moving and it was good to see the solidarity of Americans on this tragic day. Americans appear more united than ever.
This video is of from the morning of 9/11 near the Ground Zero. It is a very emotional place to be. And the folks are doing a good job of observing this tragic event.
A Mennonite church choir sang devotional songs. It was a very powerful performance at the Ground Zero.
It's an incredible tribute to these innocent victims.
as a younger generation Mennonite, i am extremely proud to see that a part of my heritage going out to Evangelize at a place like NYC. God bless everyone of you, and keep up the work of God. i will be praying for you!!! :)
From what little I know of the Mennonite, this is so typical of them, reaching out to others in times of trouble or crisis. Bless them.
How good and pleasant for brethren to dwell together in unity... See how they love one another was the observation of the early Church ⛪

I am Reformed to the bone, but I appreciate this Mennonite witness to NYC.
I am a Seventh Day Adventist, but l was home schooled with the Mennonite school, and l use to visit the Mennonite church every Sunday. They are the most loving and welcoming people, and perhaps one of the finest Christians l know.

Mennonite accapella singing is a beautiful tradition shared with Church of Christ, Primitive Baptists, and other Christians.
I feel kinship with these marvelous young people.
I worship as a Eastern Orthodox Christian.
Our beautifull Liturgies of St. John Chrysostom and St. Basil remain essentially unchanged for 17 centuries and are sung accapella..
Acapella singing isn't a Mennonite, Church of Christ, Primitive Baptist, Eastern Orthodox or any other Christendom group "tradition."
It is a product of the Holy Bible.

These people made a stand in loving christian support of people devastated by a tragedy. To demonstrate christians shewing concern for the people affected would have further impact than breathing fire and brimstone. When Christ healed the ten lepers, he did not preach to them; neither did he preach to the thief on the cross. Those that recognised him and worshiped him did so because of his actions.
We need them in NYC every day!

I'm an old "OLD MENNONITE", so you'd EXPECT me to say it's beautiful and I LOVED it, but I'm saying it from the heart. Anybody, or participants care to tell me which city/town/area you're FROM? and which Mennonite Conference you belong to? The earlier years of my life were in NW Ohio, then NJ [yes, went to NYC Menn Church once, else northern NJ and New Hope PA, etc etc. SO YOU ARE APPRECIATED, LOVED, etc....
For whatever reason...I find encouragement in this!

This preacher is glad you guys warn the world in song to draw nigh to God just be safe and keep some men looking out for to be ready should a crazy dangerous man appear. Be faithful and smart and prudent. Wise as doves and remember Stephen that is to help us be bold but protect our people in process. Good job on singing.

I am so proud of my Mennonite heritage.
God only with holds truth from the people who reject him. On the other hand, people being imperfect will not know the full majesty of His glory till we see him face to face. Therefore no-one can fully understand the whole story, even after we've been sanctified for many decades.

You would find great messages in hymns written by many of the forefathers which explains God's unmerited favour to them as well as to someone God choses t speak to through the hymn. Do not limit God's power to clubbing people over the head with a bible.

Yes, sharing God's message via song would be evangelizing.
Theres nothing wrong in evangelizing just do it safely as possible. If Jesus had thought message in song was not for His church He would have not sang a Hymn with the disciples in the upper room before Calvary that was His endorsement.
