    It's not as powerful as I thought it would be, but it works very well. czcams.com/users/postUgkxGjG43--gYqIoT4Xkur2PqCrtbKwTv2h There are three options to circulate air, and best of all a remote control for us lazy people. Installation was a breeze (no pun intended). It actually took longer to open the box then it did putting the side extenders on and sitting it in the window opening. It's a perfect alternative when you want airflow, but not the AC. Just might order another one for a different room. UPDATE: Bought another one like I said. They work great. Why not have two...

    Thank You again, Very grateful for this! I have the same fan and still working great. From my research re. cold climate venting and ducts are also a key issue. I had too much research to get this more correct than not. I would suggest using galvanized insulated smooth ducting along with the best outside home vent you can find for your cold climate application. Not so sure it was a DYIer project at least for me was a bit over the top.

    It's really hard to reach the other side of joint for basement.

    Your instructions were clear. I missed the spot when you are reconnecting the duct to the fan. How do I do that?

    • @davejohn255
      @davejohn255 Před 4 lety +2

      You'll want aluminum duct tape from HD or Lowes, and make sure your current duct hose is insulated. Use a zip tie or big SS hose clamp for the inner portion of the flexible duct, than tape the outer and inner duct with the aluminum duct tape. It also explains this in the instructions.

  • @comk135

  • @Snoop_was_here
    @Snoop_was_here Před 4 lety +1

    My issue is, how do you know that you are shooting the screws into the actual bracket because once you put the fan unit in place, you can no longer see the bracket?? Every time mi shoot one of the four screws, it feels like it’s just going through straight drywall/ceiling.

    • @ToolsReview
      @ToolsReview  Před 4 lety +1

      Good point. As I remember when I did mine, I could feel the tension as the screw passes the drywall. As you know, the way they have designed the bracket is by creating long channels on two sides of the bracket to hold the screw instead of having specific holes.

  • @SuckTheseStandards
    @SuckTheseStandards Před 5 měsíci

    Thanks for the video. Apparently, this particular model, and any of the Panasonic models you see at Home Depot, is packaged for Home Depot specifically based on the model number. Looks like Panasonic made the model numbers specific for a retailer like Home Depot or Lowes or Amazon. I guess they made it like buying a Sealy mattress where you're trying to compare oranges to oranges but the retailers will have a different model number and you can't really compare because they're different only because they are "different models" yet they're basically the same. And by doing this, you cannot get price matching and price beat by the big box office retail stores from Home Depot and Lowes.

    Can I assume that the mounting bracket extends 24 inches to attach to 2-foot-on-centre roof trusses?

    • @ToolsReview
      @ToolsReview  Před 3 lety +1

      It does extend for sure. The manual shows being attached to two joints, I can’t remember how far exactly it extends though. Hopefully someone has an open box before installation to comment about it.

    In my state it's illegal to vent a fan into the attic space this way! I believe all jurisdictions have basically the same code.

    • @jasonwatson2521
      @jasonwatson2521 Před 3 lety +1

      It's not venting into the attic. He attached it to a piece of ductwork that's running through the attic. I'm pretty sure it's either vented through the roof, eave soffit or outside wall.

    • @kylecampion9668
      @kylecampion9668 Před 2 lety

      It’s not vented into the attic, it’s connected to a duct that is presumed to be properly run to an external vent on the roof/soffit/etc.
