DPF Regeneration Overview | Ford Tech Talk

Many Ford vehicles equipped with a diesel engine feature a Diesel Particulate Filter, or DPF, which traps diesel particulates, like black soot. These filters help diesel-powered vehicles to be more environmentally responsible. If the Ford diesel-powered vehicle has a DPF, occasionally, it needs to be cleaned using a process called regeneration.
