  • Many Ford vehicles equipped with a diesel engine feature a Diesel Particulate Filter, or DPF, which traps diesel particulates, like black soot. These filters help diesel-powered vehicles to be more environmentally responsible. If the Ford diesel-powered vehicle has a DPF, occasionally, it needs to be cleaned using a process called regeneration.
Depending on the model and engine, there can be several ways to initiate a regeneration of a vehicle’s DPF filter. This episode of Tech Talk discusses how each of these functions work, and explains why keeping a DPF clean can help keep a Ford diesel-powered vehicle on the road for years to come!
