Currently driving(owning) one for 1 week,LPG version. It's a nice car,if you don't have high expectations. The engine is surprisingly torqy, considering 1 liter capacity.I'm still learning to drive a petrol engine,as I used to drive diesels for very long time.Yes,I'd be more happy if they had a diesel to offer, but it is what it is.It's pretty decent looking car, lots of positive feedback from a strangers.I think is a lot of car, what you pay for.The manual transmission could be smoother.I find it a little bit rough.

Dacia will sell A LOT of this car. Of course a used more comfortable car would be the better choice if you wanted to travel with it. But used cars are so expensive at the moment that the Jogger might be the better choice for just commuting to work an driving your kids to football matches on weekends.

    • @tgb-vf4es
      @tgb-vf4es Před 2 lety

For that one you don't need a new, uncomfortable car. First of all, the wait period is huge. Secondly, you can still get used MPVs for less than the money for a Jogger, and they are way more comfortable.

"Some people just choose to keep the money in their pockets, but I'll just choose comfort and safety...".
Marek, some people only have so much money so as not to have a choice.
Driving assistants are certainly a gain for road safety, although I cannot escape the feeling that some individuals strongly believe that complete morons have suddenly a right to get behind the wheel, just because there are safety systems in place and they no longer have to be sober, keep their eyes on the road and drive carefully...
Anyway, keep up the good work and don't loose the perspective.

Dacia should have allowed consumers to choose those features (or not)...As for the 1.3 TCe motor, to undertake safely with full load (or not)... We are talking of a 2022 brand new car, without losing the perspective of used cars market available to all pockets (hence Carvago?).

    good review.
I test drove one and liked the long wheelbase but was oddly noisy at motorway speeds.
The engine is better in real life than the figures suggest and best when ragged hard.... but fuel economy suffers and it would soon get tiresome on a long journey.
I bet if Dacia put the 1.3L Tce engine in this the story would be different.
I think the build quality is currently the best that Dacia has done.
I am very tempted to see what the Bigster is like when that comes out.

Other testers on review have achieved 10.8.
Clearly it depends on whose driving.
Just like all individuals have different views, other reviewers have not been so scaithing about the car and how it drives.
Infact some more popular review sites have remarked how good the Jogger was, whilst your review has has criticised and contradicted those positive view points.
To many people this car is an opportunity to own a new family car to be proud of. At a price they can achieve.
In truth Dacia cars are the modern "Volks" - wagon that people can afford.
It might be better if you review only cars that have a €35,000 price tag in future.

So, with all due respect to Matt Watson of Carwow...
Dacia UK quotes 0-62 mph time of 11.2 seconds, not 0-60 mph.
      www.dacia.co.uk/vehicles/jogger/specifications.html
60 mph is 96.5 km/h. I checked my measurements (I use the same Racebox device Matt uses, just set to km/h) and there's around 0.7 seconds from 96.5 to 100 km/h. So he would have got 11.5/6 0-62 mph. The rest we can attribute to my sloppy gear change :)
As for the rest... How easy it is to be the people's tribune, who recommends cheap cars, he will never have to drive on daily basis.

I wouldn't say that. There are models like the VW Sharan, Seat Alhambra, Opel Zafira, Ford Galaxy etc. that are able to accommodate larger families and are not that expensive(at least for western Europe standards). There is a video to be made though on how such models are being fazed out to be replaced by less practical, less economical and more expensive SUV's and how this trend is more controlled by the manufacturers rather than by what the customer wants or needs. At least this is how I see it.

The 1 star rating is very disappointing, but it's probably an improvement if you're coming from a much older car. Whether to buy this over a used car would depend on the buyer - warranty, reliability etc. Like you said, you get what you pay for.

I've had dreadful problems with mine. The main ones:
    1. Power loss after idling for a few minutes in traffic. Turbo will not engage/spool up when pulling away. No warning lights, smoothly up through the revs, but no power at all.
    2. All warning lights come on at once, power cuts, steering goes heavy and after a few seconds the car restarts. This happens whilst driving. Very scary.
    3. Bad noise (like a bad bearing) when using AC that rises with the rpm, and continues after the rpm of the engine has dropped again (like when pulling up to a junction, slowing down) for a few seconds - like an overrun. Dacia replaced the AC compressor but still has not fixed. Getting worse and was not there from new.

      @MarekDrivesENG  Před 2 lety +1

It's not just crash avoidance. If you look at Euro NCAP results, the Jogger also scores quite low in the occupants protection department, not just safety equipment. Also, some of the driver aids are supposed to help prevent the crash in the first place.
Only lower scoring cars in recent years were Dacia Spring and Renault Zoe. Going further back we're looking at Jeep Wrangler and Fiat Panda.

The 1 star NCAP score is because of unnecessary and unreliable electronic gadgets that people will turn off, not because it's structurally unsafe. You made me look at the report in detail and they actually lost points for not having ACC or isofix mounts in the rear middle seat. I'm sorry but those are convenience features that you either need or don't need, nothing to do with safety. But now car makers include gimmicks like ACC as standard even in cheaper new cars, so they score high on the NCAP so car journalists such as yourself don't trash them in the reviews, in effect making new cars unaffordable for more people that never cared about those things in the first place.
I bet in a few years they'll deduct points for manual handbrakes because you might forget to put them on or something idiotic like that. On the other hand I never see them deduct points for SUVs that roll over incredibly easily in a swerve or minor side impact. It's not part of their rating yet ACC is.

No, I said the droning noise gets tedious after some time, and it's getting harder to pay attention. Therefore I'd rather have a quieter car, and also I like some driver aids, because thanks to them I'm less tired during long journeys.
1k km during one day? I'm not going to say "good for you", because you're probably endangering yourself, your passengers, and other people on the road.

The second row has to have seatbelt sensors, so the connectors would have to be integrated in the mounting system so that the user doesn't tear them out, when removing the seats. There's probably a click-to-connect cable joint, but that still could get damaged, when a person is dealing with a heavy back seat.

I think you said what needs to be said. You get what you pay for. If I were in the market for a 7-seater and REALLY wanted a brand-new car to impress my neighbours (little nudge at one of my own neighbours), but wasn't interested in little details like how it drives...I think I'd still have qualms, mostly because there's NO DIESEL. Instead I'd look for something like a used VW Caddy people-carrier variant (yes VERY used for the same money...) and bag myself something that is superior in every respect.
As others have commented, this car will be filling the streets of some eastern european cities in a couple of years time, in yellow livery - the best thing being that it's a cheap 7-seater and passengers will only ever need to experience it for a few minutes at a time. In my neck of the woods in England, minicab drivers will stick to their (diesel) Skodas instead, which DO feel nice to be in. I'm no VAG fanboy (meaning - I think VAG are dreadful pirates like many other car makers, apt to destroy suppliers for a penny in cost saving), but they do have knack for making cars that are nice to be in (thanks to their systems / module suppliers, of course - the same suppliers who struggle for pennies in profit - I used to work for one such supplier - VAG was the rock-bottom-price benchmark that other customers used to clobber us with...).
My only experience of Dacia was a few years ago when I had a Sandero Stepway as a Renault dealer courtesy car. It may have looked OK from the outside. but the inside was like somebody had taken random Renault parts and scattered them around in a slightly larger space than they were intended for. The driving position was weird - it had a height-adjustable driver's seat, but this only had two positions: completely up or completely down, operated on a spring - completely pointless, really. I was either far too low or far too high. The ONLY half-decent aspect of the driving experience was the DIESEL engine, which gave me an acceptable 55mpg, albeit with the same sensation of a throttle pedal connected to an elastic band as I experienced in a Mk4 Clio DCI a year previously. It would go, but lacked the urgency of my Mk3 Clio DCI106 (may she rest in pieces - I mean peace - the victim of a collisdion with a van - now replaced by a Fiesta Econetic which is just NOT as comfortable, or as peppy, or as spacious or as robust as the old Clio, but gives me 70mpg vs the 63mpg I had from the Clio).

Well, Dacia is a workhorse in general. It's for those who don't mind 'riding' to their destination instead of very relaxed or very angry driving... or just driving in general on long distances. It is not a good choice for those with 'fragile bones', they'll develop calluses quickly. But it is honest and affordable .. and rather reliable these days.

And sure, when I was in my 20s, early 30s I could do a 15 hour stint behind the wheel, and go party at the end of the journey, but these days are long gone. After 4 hours in the Jogger I was seriously considered driving it into a wall at high speed to end my misery :)

They make decent cars, a little bit expensive if you ask me (culminating with the Spring with a price tag of 20K which is purely madness) but the most important, quite reliable cars. There are a lot of Dacia Logan first generation is use today, most of them with no major problems.
