Using Physics to Remove a Tree!🌳

- For this tree and stump removal, we started with topping the tree. We left the stump on the taller side, so we can get the benefit of leverage. With the aid of some snatch blocks and the Wyeth-Scott Winch we were able to pull down the stump.

Ended up upgrading the winch for a truck! Check out the linked video.
I watched a video of a guy with a tractor and a higher degree in some science that I can't remember struggle for two days removing a stump. He kept preaching pulley math and quoting theories. More money and schooling than the ability to link muscle to mind. The comment section was lighting him up about what he had done wrong. He hid behind excuses and accreditation. Meanwhile, you made this look easy with practical applications of equipment and force without pretending to know what you're talking about.
Surprised it didnt untied from top and didn't slap yours ass in process
That was the most civilized home owner removal I’ve ever seen lol
You should see some of the other tree and stump removals we have done!
@@TheArtOfHomeownership I probably don’t wanna 🤯🤯
I have a tree to remove. The arborist want to.cut it a d grind it. I like this better
First time I've seen a CZcams video with a chainsaw and a ladder that didn't end in disaster
Trust me. If anything bad happens I'll post it.
Everything has been good so far.
Every time i go up the ladder I imagine the homeowner across the way records me hoping ill smash myself with a branch or something Clearing pine/spruce branches on some of the younger trees avg 20/25ft up sadly leaving them without any good useable footage
Who Else SAW a giant slingshot
My favorite part is filling up the hole, too.
u perv 😂
There is is. I came to see if someone else said it so I wouldn’t have to.
Men of culture, assemble.
I'm glad I didn't let either one of you down.
Ahem.
Sawzall is a good way to cut roots instead of chainsaw. Use a Diablo pruning blade. It can sink into dirt without worrying about dulling the blade much.
Agreed! We used that and a cheaper electric chainsaw on some other removals
Damn good idea
Who doesn't love a good snach....
😂😂😂 at first I read "using psychics to remove a tree"... thought to myself, wow, this outta be good lol
Psychokinesis lol. I wish.
The Wyeth Scott winch is expensive and slow, but it always gets the job done. It's one of my most dependable tools. It's built to last for generations.
Nothing like filling a hole
My dad made me remove a whole hedge row using a winch. This gave me flash backs.
Fortunately your tree wasn't too hard to cut down. The removal process was rather ingenious though.
Now remove a tree without using physics...
I love filling up holes too.😊
Something about this video is making me reminisce about my Pop.
Used to do tree work all the time when i was younger.
Sure, do miss it.
How many engineers did you hire for this great feat of physics?
I thought they were gonna fashion it into a sling shot.
Catapult? 😊
Angry bird Style or what 🤣🤣🤣
Sawzall for roots so you don’t have to worry about the blade
Ladders, chainsaws and trees do not mix, gentlemen.
Y’all are tree movin machines
Bruh this dirt 😮 perfect to grow something!!
😎
Don't try this at home folks, always consult a trained professional. As an Arborist who's lost colleagues to tragic accidents I can tell you it's not worth taking the risk, this stuff is dangerous.
I have seen firsthand what can happen when combining tree cutting and ladders. I shuddered when I saw that.
You should see some of the other stuff we do🤣
@@TheArtOfHomeownership I will definitely watch some of the other videos on your channel.
What a great way to generate views! 😁
My wife said she would have paid you $2,000 for that tree stump
Unfortunately, it found its way into my fireplace. May I ask, what does she do with stumps?
It looks like it was a little bit hollow inside…could have been a cool to put some plants in.
Time is the factor. This took a day for two men to remove the tree. How does that cost compare to bringing in a 5-ton mini excavator and spending probably one hour, or a 20-ton excavator and spending five minutes?
Looks like a very safe way to go about this.
What did you hook the wench to?
The winch is attached to the base of another tree with a strap. I have a more detailed explanation in the full video.
You ever find any cool stuff or cool rocks/gems around the base of old trees?
Seems like good wood for turning.
Dayumn gal really got it figured out
Tree was good enough. Possibly helps keep the area cooler
The long horizontal roots were left behind. What about them? Were These roots not necessary to be removed?
The blade into the dirt 😭😭😭
How come anytime i try this the tops snap off.
I can grind a stump that size in about 25 minutes.
That ladder is a good way to die
That ladder has not tried to kill us.. YET
Thanks for watching!
you know why they call em snatch blocks right?
I've got a maple for you.
Firewood boys
Very clever!
OK. We are duly impressed.
Glad we could impress you. Thanks for watching!
Blade? Its called a bar
The winch on my Jeep does it without any effort. Multiple x 2 with snatch block and I have 24,000 lbs of pull.
A small fruit tree was removed [about 10 feet from my home] they left a small stump and now I have a colony of carpenter ants. I'm guessing that the ants were attracted to the sweetness of the stump. How can I get rid of the ants?
Stir about 3/4 cup of dawn dish soap into 2 gallons of water. Pour slowly. You want it spread wide enough but also deep enough. Works great around my garage. I was told that they breathe through their exoskeleton and the dried on soap interferes. I hope it works for you.
Proceeds to shape it up by killing it!!...lololol
Nice job man
Personally I don’t recommend ladders and tree work go together 😅just my opinion from what I’ve seen in my years and climbing is way safer…I think
I did see one problem ?? You didn’t yell timber at top of your lungs !! 😂😂😂
Sawzall works amazing for roots, i ran a wood with nails blade in the dirt for a long time, only reason the blade broke is because i hit a few large rocks multiple times
Your blades break?
Them Diablo 14 inch embedded wood blades just bend side ways and keep cutting. 😂😂
@@dbongoloid9541 yea after you straighten them out a few times with a hammer they get real brittle lmao, milliwaukee blades
Nice job 👍
The first cut wasn't a "haircut", that was a scalping, the second was a kill cut that no tree would have recovered from. So yeah, barring any rot it had to come out then.
Already rotten and dead is the reason for removal topping would not save it
I think he wanted to take it out, and was just messing with us.
God bless amurican-made winches! Gun-Ho! Yeee-Ha!
Is that what you call a buzz cut😂
Something like that!
Yea science!
That was treementus
My dirt is super hard which is making the digging process a nightmare
I've seen some people use a power washer. I bet it would be a mess though!
TLM tree lives matter 😂
What was wrong with the tree?
Can't believe you got me to watch this .
Hope it pays you well ? Carry On
"isn't doin it for me."
Looks like common sense to me
So satisfying 😊
What is that long pole you were using to cut those branches without a latter
Stihl Pole Saw (PP800). Its a little on the pricey side but it has telescoping handle and can reach 18 feet.
Your going to have to fill that hole slot more dirt and add some lime ..fir grass to grow..also you shouldve showed your block setups
J'ai le même câble acier acheter aux USA 3 tonnes 6 tonnes super efficace j'adore ❤❤❤
Good job.
Well great I've got lile 10. So that's 10 days of work...
What did you anchor to
Another tree. The full video shows more of the set up.
Could've left it up as a snag tree for wildlife..
Needed to make space for new growth. Plan on planting a live oak in the future.
Praise the two fingers
Let’s give it a lil haircut. Op that doesn’t look good let’s just take the whole thing down. 😂 Great video I am now inspired to remove this tree from our yard except it’s literally huge!!! Like the roots are so bad but this video is very inspiring. Thank you!
Did he just say echos aren't cheap?
I think their stuff is priced on the higher end BUT they are quality tools.
Thanks for watching!
Nice stump work! #LittleRed
Best winch on the market!
What lil red run ya?
It was a few hundred when we purchased it which was a couple years ago. It’s not cheap, but it is American made🇺🇸
Okay, now do something without physics.
Chain*
I see a future in tree removal 😮
I see a future with no ugly trees😂
that was a most unsafe chainsaw operation.
Looked pretty mild to me
I’d like to remove a tree that’s next to my house, maybe 5 feet away. It’s ugly and it’s cross bred it something somehow 😆 it was here when we bought the house. But the house (neighborhood) is only 15 years old. We normally are a DIY type of people. But with the roots being so close to the house my husband is afraid we could damage the foundation..??!! It’s just a small tree maybe 15 feet, and less than 15 years old. I wouldn’t think 🤔 that could happen. Any ideas? Heard if we cut it to a stump then there was a chemical we could use to get rid of the roots??
Potassium nitrate can be easily purchased and applied to stumps (and I think roots too) to expedite rotting. Then they disintegrate easily and are almost removable by hand. Takes a couple of months.
Since when do chainsaws have a blade??
Good catch! ‘chain’
Thanks for watching!
The last time I checked my chain saw chain has a blade on each cutting tooth😂
Wow
Physics is not magic.
you are lucky ...
Fast work....
Only on the video!
Oh please hire a professional next time… what you did was so dangerous 🤦🏻♂️
Live life at your own pace. Thanks for watching
why was that dangerous?
Why cut the roots first?
Looks like it could have pulled them out too...
I know we made it look easy, but it really wasn’t that easy😂
Why are you pulling down a tree when many countries wasting tax monies to plant trees 😢 you couldn’t transported that years old tree elsewhere
You are a fool
Why don’t you go plants some trees there😂
LOL echo most definitely makes it cheap
