I know it’s just a TV show, but that scene brought me to tears. My husband killed himself eight years ago, and it’s impossible to imagine how much devastation that caused through his family and my family and our family. After my husband‘s death, I became suicidal, but I found that having a little bit of hope is what got me through the days until my heart and soul and mind were healed.
Honestly, as weird as this sounds, I could see Nolan’s method being a legitimate way of keeping yourself away from suicidal tendencies. At worst, it’s something to distract you, but at best it’s a way to give yourself some hope, and that is incredibly important during bad times like those. So long as you only stick to the one a week, you won’t get addicted and you’ll find yourself always looking forward to something, at least until you pull yourself out of that hole :)
I still stand by The Depths being genuinely terrifying from a lore standpoint. There's an entire system of mines, flora and fauna created by the Zonai UNDERNEATH hyrule and NO ONE KNEW ABOUT IT until ganon blew holes in the landscape. More to the point: The Zonai are peoples of the sky, and as far as we know they don't have a way to descend through solid matter; only up. There are no Zonai tunnel holes, and we don't know of any mines on the surface that lead down into the depths. How the hell did they get down there without anyone noticing? And more importantly: what were they doing that caused so many Poes to be scattered EVERYWHERE?
good cause let me rant, i’m not suicidal or anything but basically: Work: I got grandfathered into a management position at a fast food restaurant and all of my employees are lazy, i get it’s a first job kind of deal but these kids are out of control (i’m only a couple years older than most of them so i don’t know why their maturity level and mine are so different) but like i require the bare minimum, service with a smile, keep things clean and stocked and also show up when you’re scheduled and they can’t handle that. The other night i was counting money from one of the cash drawers and some lady came through the drive thru and said she was missing a burger. All they had to do was apologize, make the burger and be on their merry way because the customer was being SUPER nice about it too. For starters my employees were complaining about her coming back for the burger and when she got to the window one of them said “here, give that bitch her burger” and one of them responded “yeah (insert emploees name) throw that shit at her, i don’t know why tf she came back when we close in 10 minutes.” The window is not sound proof and the way they were screaming I wouldn’t be surprised if the lady heard them. I had to tell them all the next person who says anything bad about a customer is fired on the spot because that’s ridiculous. They also don’t clean or restock throughout the shift and get an attitude whenever i ask them to do anything. I’ve started hiring new people in hopes that they will be better so i can replace the other people but the new people come in, see how the others act and do the same thing. I’ve had many talks with all of them as a group and also 1 on 1 talks with each of them, i’ve tried giving them an incentive for working hard such as saying i’m looking for new shift leads so if you’re interested in a promotion i need to see some more effort and i even spent $100+ of my own money to get all of them food from where ever they wanted after we had a good week but that same night they all left the store an absolute mess and i was there until 1am cleaning everything by myself. They aren’t allowed to leave until i’ve told them their area is good but i was handling an issue with one of the cash registers being $60 off so i just told them look at the checklist in your area (i made EXTREMELY DETAILED closing checklists for every area, so detailed that someone who has never worked fast food could come in and do it) and make sure everything on that list is done then you can leave. They obviously did not do that. I’m at a loss, I want to just quit because things are so out of hand. My dad was in the hospital this weekend because of heart and kidney problems but instead of being with my family or just having the time to process I had to work because I had so many people calling out last minute or just not showing up then texting me some stupid excuse an hour after their shift was supposed to start. I’ve done write ups too, and suspensions, and i’ve fired people so they know the consequences but they just don’t care and it feels like i can’t do anything. I’ve even asked my boss what he would suggest doing and he just says “just be a good manager” but again i was grandfathered in so i was never taught how to be a good manager, i’m just going based off of things i liked and didn’t like about managers i’ve had in the past. Family: I have a twin sister, she has a kid and her baby daddy was already a P.O.S to begin with (example: on halloween a couple years ago she didn’t want him to be all touchy with her in front of everyone at the party, he was basically trying to f her right in front of everyone and it made all of us uncomfortable but then when she told him no for the 100th time he started going around to other girls and trying to be flirty with them EVEN ME) but they moved to Florida and he bought a dab cart from a random gas station then went into full blown psychosis (thought the mexican cartel was coming after him but donald trump was coming to take him, my sister and their kid to costa rica to escape the cartel) but now he has a bunch of psych issues and is bipolar so him and my sister are always fighting but he’s still always around my sister (if he’s not physically with her he’s on the phone with her so i can’t even have a conversation with her without him being there) and is super manipulative. My parents have always had a boys don’t stay the night rule no matter what but he blatantly goes against that and stays her almost every night but my parents don’t do or say anything about it even though they know he’s a terrible person and they get mad at me for not liking him (they’ve tried to get me put on medications and have lied straight to my psychologists face saying all these different things to get me out on what are essentially tranquilizers just so they don’t have to hear me calling them out on their bs) Those are my 2 major rants, i got more, mostly just ✨boy problems✨ but thank you for coming to my ted talk
