Hanging out at the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh today. Working Steam Engine Saw Mill. Start up and cutting timber. Great video Enjoy www.SteamEnginesUSA.com
I like the way everybody uses those plastic drums for the water supply 🙃. That’s one thing not period but I guess they are more leak resistant! Anyway nice engine. I like the potable engines.
Just a little history and trivia on that old sawmill, it was originally located in Coneto, N.C. located on NC 42 E in Edgecombe county. If you have ever heard of Parker's Bar-B-Que in Wilson, N.C., this is the sawmill that was used to saw the lumber use to construct those buildings that house the restaurant today.
The engine wants to be in the nice open air, and a long belt helps keep it working outside. Stops smoke being emitted into the sawmill, the sawdust doesn't get in the valve gear.
thank you for sharing this low tech marvel with us. The infrastructure of the industrious small holder.
That's awesome & he's using a old Homelite chainsaw too!!

It is there, look straight down below the whistle, it is a thing gauge and you can see the pigtail for it.
What happen to the Farquhar Slaburner that was used before?
It was sold to Ken Eader 100 years of progress
Why does the belt need to be a 1/4 mile long
