Great video but slightly disappointing to watch the state of the shoes after only 150miles!!!
Looking for a shoes for next year UTS50 and hoped this could be one.

Interesting. I've not tried the XTRM, but I do have VJ Spark (200mi) and VJ Maxx (76mi) and both are holding up much better than these, so far. The construction looks to be a little different on those vs. the XTRM, so maybe they've improved some things on the newer models.

Great review, thank you. I ordered some VJ Ultra's today and this isn't what I'd hoped to see, but hopefully they have improved since!

Hi. How did your VJs go? Thanks

@@paulbailey7641 I found that the Ultra I ordered wasn't quite big enough, and I decided to go back to the Speedgoat. However, I recently spent a week in Snowdonia (VERY rocky/technical terrain), and on my first day there I went to a local shop and grabbed myself the XTRM 2 since I've heard they're incredible on rock. I'm now 60 miles in, and the grip has been mind blowing. I've had no durability issues to speak of, and I've been really impressed overall. I don't think they're the best looking shoe, but they do seem to be rather bombproof! I hope that helps.

@@bildotunechi Hi. I’m thinking of buying a pair of XTRM 2 for the up coming winter season of fell races on the North Yorkshire Moors.
Do you think they will also work well on muddy peaty tracks across moorland? Thanks for your reply 👍

@@paulbailey7641 if you have rocks among the muddy peaty sections, I'd say yes. I do feel that something like the Inov8 Mudclaw could be a better option if there's no rock. For me, as soon as anything rocky comes into the equation, the outsole of the XTRM 2 is in a league of its own (and I have several pairs of Inov8!)
