- Today we cover the long awaited finale to the Doki Doki Takeover mod, a Friday Night Funkin' mod that brings the characters of Doki Doki Literature Club over into the Funkin' world. Let's get into it!

1:51 - Her fake death, it should be clarified. Natauki’s actual death was entirely offscreen. The thing the scare was referencing was a scene where the game “punishes” you for pursuing the Natsuki romance in Act 2 when the game (read: Monika and Yuri) was trying to railroad you to a Yuri path, which gave her false hope and drove her to take her frustrations out on the player.
There are 2 references I found in the costume descriptions:
1: Sayori's Bedwear costume description says that you can only find it during "unfortunate" circumstances, foreshadowing her Suicide from the original DDLC, also maybe having a slight nod to the ending of act 2 in which Monika goes badass and LAUGHS AT YURI'S CORPSE saying, "how unfortunate".
2: Monika's Vigilante costume description says, "It's time to wake up, get up, and get out there!", a reference to the intro theme of the original Persona 5, which Doki Doki Vigilante is based off of.
Interesting fact: The reason why Natsuki has an antipathy skin is because in the Antipathy mod's credit mural, Natsuki is dressed as Hank. Also some of the Doki Doki takeover plus team are part of Antipathy team.
On 8:39, Sayori and Yuri's Picnic Outfit was a reference to an original art from the DDLC as a promotional art where Monika and Sayori having a picnic (and seeing Natsuki and Yuri on the back)

i think he said it was a reference to basil because she has a flower crown and also in my confession where she looks like she's dead picnic sayori makes a face that basil does with red eyes
8:40 No that’s not an Omori reference, it’s a reference to official art by the main artist of DDLC

Its actually a reference to the "Play with me" scene in act 2
This update was absolutely jam packed. It was truly the best send off for the mod.

This mod really was something else. I'm so glad for it cause it gave us so many unique songs and styles that have also been used in covers for other songs.
Some of my favorite covers are of Monika singing Sonic songs. I don't know why, but I think her vocals suit those Sonic songs extremely well.
The Protagonist getting his own songs (a whopping six songs if we count NEET, Titular, and all four different versions of You And Me) was one of the best parts of DDTO Plus for me.
Even better is that all of his songs are genuinely amazing, easily on the same level with the other Dokis' songs.
this video misses one pretty cool easter egg
sometimes when you pause the game the normal pause screen is replaced with a white screen with bf with red eyes with words "funky thoughts" laid around the screen (which probably is a reference to happy thoughts- a file that appears in DDLC+ after Sayori's death). the screen has 2 options, restart and... I'm pretty sure it was "bring me back" or something like that. the first one restarts the song and the other one sends you back to the menu
That is the mod's version of the "Gittaro Man" easter egg from the base game.
I got this easter egg like The 2nd Time I paused The game. I was super confused and I thought that it's maybe The death screen
I actually got that at one point. And I ended believing that it only happened during catfight which was when it happened. Up until I tried again.
Yeah I got a video recorded of it, I was hoping for it to get popular lol but nah. I wish
I do think it's a reference from Doki Doki Takeover Bad Ending (and in ddto bad ending, it's a reference to the happy thoughts file)
Well, I found that the Madame Macabre's version of Monika was a complete monster. Because here she lack sympathy and redeeming traits like her canon counterpart. Here are some reasons that explain her adaptational villainy:
1. She caused Sayori and Yuri to commit suicide in the worst ways possible and removed Natsuki, just for standing in her way. Which she feels no remorse.
2. She also shows sadism and malice in her actions.
3. She has high sexual appetites for the player and destroyed her game on propose, so the player would have worth zero chance of deleting her and it was impossible to restore the entire game. Due to how She destroyed it on propose without remorse. Which shows she might be more cunning then her canon counterpart and was competent enough to get away with her wrongdoings.
4. She lacks a tragic backstory, redeeming traits and comedic moments(Although she laughs maliciously). Which means she is taken 100% seriously and her lack of sympathy and good qualities makes her very evil compared to the canon, thus solidifying her cruel and sadistic nature.
Adaptational villain is where a villain is more evil than original works. Some are complete monsters in fanon works, if they are devoid of any redeeming trait their canon counterpart had.(E.g. King Koopa (Mario Brothers), SpongeBob SquarePants(The Bikini Bottom Horror), Mari (Hands) and Monika (Madame Macabre).
Anything about the adaptational villainy thing about Koopa, SpongeBob, Mari or most importantly Monika? Pls reply and don't delete my comment.

Monikas valentines outfit was based off official artwork with her in the same outfit while Sayoris picnic outfit (and im assuming Yuris as well) is based off another artwork of them all at a picnic with yuri and Natsuki running in the background. Sayoris depressed animation in My confession was a reference to Basils headspace afraid portrait in Omori (that was said already I know)
1:50 no..... Natuski didn't die because of that, it was supposed to be a jumpscare in the original game, she didn't actually die she was just deleted
As a va11halla fan, when i saw the shaker on the main menu it made me extremely happy with the stupidest smile on my face
A fact he missed is when you complete the entire mod and go to "unlockables" in the settings menu, text in grey, all capital letters reading "bad ending", clicking it takes you to a gamebanana page, specifically, Doki Doki Takeover - Bad Ending. The mod follows an alternate ending, one where Monika was unable to return, I highly recommend playing bad ending because it's such a good mod and the final song is now my #1 favorite song in any other mod of fnf.
Edit: I just found another fact! In your demise, lots of eyes of Markov flood the screen (something I die to often), I just noticed today that they spell "JUST MONIKA"
There's a mod that I don't think very many people know about called 'haunted pokedex' it would be cool if you could make a video on that
In my opinion the pixel sprite remake and the costume are the best❤!! (Also I noticed the Sprite are more smooth than the original)
fun fact 11: The reason Sempai is on a PS1 Is because the original 2003 FNF issue was for the PS1. There was even an trailer for it. Search it up if can.
I, personally had a blast with this mod. And as someone who's played DDLC I get most of the references and secrets. But it's still nice to get to know more about some things that are in the mod itself.

This was a really cool video! Finally, I understand what Libatina is supposed to be, I was **super** confused, lol.
But I feel like I need to explain something: The poems n' thorns song isn't in the main week bc (if I remember correctly) the creator of that song... wasn't a good person, I'll say that. But I guess people liked the song a lot so it was included in the freeplay menu.
Edit: It has come to my attention that the person who made the song was Saruky, not the person I was thinking of. The person who made the song I was thinking of, Dreams and Roses, is an entirely different person. Sorry for the confusion ^^'

Great vid, and while I would say that Epiphany is probably the hardest song to beat due to the mechanics, Catfight is much harder to FC due to the scroll speed and amount of notes
Libitina might also be slightly more difficult with a few sections be ridiculous in skill spike, but I'm not sure
And of course, Monika being an absolute chad, turns off the Markov notes for the lyrics playthough of Epiphany, making an FC more feasible and allowing the player to actually enjoy the lyrics without sweating too hard lmao

One thing I think you could have mentioned was the easter eggs on the TV in the background of "drinks on me". I know about the Needy Streamer Overload one at least, and would have been cool to see that pointed out.

the lyrics for the alternate Epiphony are from lyricist @JunoSong's lyrical cover of the the song. Juno also helped make some of the artwork in the mod.

oh yeah, other funfacts to this mod, for the 2nd song in sayori and yuri what ever skin you chose will have a event with them, so you can get the red eyed picnic skin sayori or yuri on skates trying to kill you, this will not work with glitcher because there is no costumes for the pixel characters :/

I think that that one Yuri outfit you didn't know the reference to may possibly be a reference to the Hex Maniac trainer class from Pokemon, which the Internet has taken quite a... liking... to. I could be completely wrong, and the dress doesn't look exactly right when compared to Hex Maniac's dress, but it's pretty similar. The differences in the design may also be to keep Nintendo from jumping on the mod, just in case.

If more reasoning is needed, At the end of one of the following weeks, Sayori states that she's the president of the literature club. Something that happens in Act 4.
