jack and kim had one of the healthiest slow burn romances disney ever created like they were literally made for each other
Interesting fact: Leo Howard, who plays Jack, not only did his own stunts and played kid versions of Snake Eyes (in the first GI Joe film) and Conan (the forgotten reboot one), but he's also the youngest ever to direct an episode in any TV show, directing an episode in the 4th season.
Okay but we can't deny Jack and Kim had such a healthy friendship and solid relationship! Every character was likable. I still think it was one of Disney's best shows ever.
To this day I still randomly remember that scene where Jack slaps that sumo wrestler on his bare ass at least once a week. The line “skin on skin. Awkward” has stuck with me for years
This show was really cheesy at times, but the characters were so likable and they created such a great bond with each other as the seasons went on
Kickin' it had a really big female audience because of the relationship between Jack and Kim, and just the characters in general. I remember all the girls in my class would talk about this show and we'd have episode premier parties.
the best line in this show is in season 3 when jack says “it was rigatoni learn your pasta women”
Besides Eddie's disappearance (which ik it was the actor having personal life issues) the weirdest thing is after the first episode, every episode they act as if they've been friends for years, when it's really only been like a week an episode
This show had “It” unlike most Disney shows, the plot was great, character development was good and it wasn’t extremely cringe to watch. I can go back and still have a laugh
This show will forever have a special place in my heart. No matter how terribly cheesy it is. I'll keep rewatching it, even now if an odd clip ever pops up
I absolutely loved Kickin It and watched it again as an adult a few years ago. The nostalgia rewatching was a delight. Jack and Kims relationship had my teen heart in chains🤣
The only think that weirded me out was that the show had alot of East Asian influences, but not a single East Asian characters they’re also mixed up Chinese and Japanese culture a lot. Also a random thing that I found funny was when they threw a party at a temple and they tried to convince us that Kim, a white girl, looked exactly like the Japanese girlfriend of the spirit that was haunting them
I'm not a huge fan of Disney's live-action shows, but this one was amazing. Kickin’ It has a lot to propose, such as the characters being likable, the dialogue's decent, and the fight scenes are pretty cool. It really got me through some rough times and taught me so much about life, friendship, love, the common thread of martial arts, and fighting for what you believe in.
Honestly, that “that’s right, I’m seeing her!” bit had me cracking up for like a minute and a half
Kickin It ran 4 seasons and Leo Howard was freaking amazing and the fight scenes were very excellent and top notch also very well choreographed for a Disney sitcom comedy. The show had some emotion, heart and teen drama and it worked very well.
I related to this show so hard as a child, coincidentally Kickin’ It came out the same year I rejoined my karate dojo. I was 9 so I was a bit younger than the main characters but the show was EVERYTHING to me. My town also had two karate studios and yeah. It pretty much went the same way of each other saying one was better than the other. But these characters friendships reminded me of my own friendships at my dojo, Sensei Rudy reminding me of my own silly fun senseis, and I know it’s a joke but you’d be surprised at the walls we broke at our studio. One time a kid went straight from one dojo into the other! It was crazy! But he was okay thankfully. By the time the show ended I still hadn’t got my black belt, but 2017 I tested and passed my shodan exam, and it’s one of the best memories I have. One of my senseis, specifically the Sensei who reminded me of Rudy left our dojo to focus on his family, and it upset me so much. He seems to be doing so great right now though, so I’m happy for him. I know to most people this is just a silly show about karate but to me it’s like I was watching a show about my life, and god I miss it. I don’t do karate anymore since Covid, but I still remember it as the thing that got me through middle and high school. And performing on stage is a feeling I can never forget.
Jack and Kim were one of the best Disney ships though, I always loved how they felt like a real teen couple and not overly cheesy like most Disney ships.

All the jokes that you showed were definitely typical Disney Channel faire (how is catching an apple funny?) but goddamn did “yeah that’s right! I’m seeing her!” make me literally laugh out loud for a good while. Absolutely choice joke that Disney should have done more of
there is one thing that this show will always be memorable
