There's just something so alluring with a smol box packing so much compute power.
I got my own s300 build with gtx1080 and ryzen 7600... its on my channel
ETA love this! I was inspired a long time ago by you to create an old optiplex build using chimeraOS and the low profile card you were touting at the time. And it's still kickin' great as a console! Keep up this type of content. My next build will definitely be something like this as I'm all about smaller, budget-friendly rigs that can still hang with today's games with the right settings.
Videos like these restir my desire to build a PC. Switched from console to a gaming laptop in 2019, I dont think I'll go back to console unless I have to (ie $$$). I've been considering my options for future replacements, this is becoming a strong contender! (Or one of those mini PCs on this channel, powerful enough for gaming!) Good video, beautiful PC
Oh this is beautiful. I had to buy a new laptop for my senior year of animation at the start of this last semester due to my last laptop breaking. I wanted to get a computer like this, which is small but string enough to work on with some play as well. While being easily able to move it around. Was looking for something easy to set up and use for a few months but easy to move when i move to new places.
This is deffinently something i want to make in the future.
THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR OMG
I just built something very similar to this except; S300 black case, DDR5-6000, and the Radeon RX7800XT. No overheating issues at all. Love the small form factor and no RGB.
i been rocking this case for over a year with an i7 11700 and a undervolted 3080 and i love it!
This is my dream built, i will love watching linux on it. Thanks for the video.
ETA you should do more videos like these. I think this CPU and GPU combination is great, and the case is unique. Great video!
For gaming the cpu is way overkill
@@harshrajjadhav940 some games that are coming out within this year its perfect. Some of the MMO games are very demanding, if you wanna play old games that are few years old thats not an issue at all its overkill.
@@harshrajjadhav940 it's 8 core 16 threads perfect for gaming.
That's a cool retro look on that case; like an old portable radio. 👍
Have the exact same case, just took off the handle. Airflow is great and fits everything I need
Thats an awesome case!
I love these beautiful builds
Not sure how much clearance you have left on those DIMMs, but Teamgroup has their T-Create DDR5 6000 with Hynix M-die chips (the best for DDR5 right now) which is pretty low profile. It also comes in white which would be a nice touch for this build.
The part number is a doozie, but here it is: CTCWD532G6000HC30DC01
Affordable and awesome CAS latency/nice chips for a low-profile-ish DDR5 6000 kit with EXPO.
Cheers!
Yes, a SteamOS-like test would be fantastic. Thank you for your videos and a happy 2024.
You can also use Ryzen5 7600 to keep the cost and power usage even lower. And have a R5 7600 RX 7600 build
yep, R5 7600 and a step down to 32gb of DDR5 is definitely the way to get the same punch in a more reasonable budget
Yeah but I think the point of this build is to get big boy desktop tower feels out of the smallest formfactor you can. Which turned out quite beautiful I must say
I love it because it gives me a great idea on where moore's law will put us in a couple years for price-size-performance. ~$1300 right now to build pretty wicked mini tower is SICK. It's the price of a nice laptop, for a highly portable desktop tower, with POWER
or a 7500F even would do the job completely
@@seibertron500 yeah bit better . but that's not easy to find everywhere.
This build looks pretty neat! altough is kind of a missed opportunity to see the "all amd 7600 setup", if you would have mounted a 7600x, CPU which probably would perform similary with a bit less of power consumption. Definetily looking forward to the Steam OS video!
I've been a console gamer since PS1, and with cost and having to buy a new console every 6yrs I'm making the jump to PCs love the look of this one Thank you Happy New Year
Another positive is that you don't have to pay a subscription for gamepass or ps plus to have the ability to play online.
Wait until the cost every two years to keep up with the games, although good move to switch to PC, not hating.
@@TheReal_FishFins thats not really a bad thing because you get free games and the biggest point is you have a hacker FREE experience with all games above 360 and PS3.
@@TheReal_FishFins a console is the cheapest way to play games if you stay legal. If you "uTorrent" games of course it's another story. If you do some research you will see that the series x for example is equivalent to a $800-$900 PC. Mouse and keyboard not included. With a decent set you are around $900-$1000. A TV or monitor doesn't count here because it's the same with both and it depends what you want (size, Hz etc...). A series x is $400-$500. So an equivalent PC is double the price. Upgrading an PC good enough is more expensive than the price of selling the old and buying a new console. Game prices are sometimes cheaper compared to steam. Game pass on Xbox is also a big point. In the end, gaming is legally the cheapest most efficient way on console. The best performance is of course on PC. But im telling this starts with $2500/$3000+ to feel big improvements...
Welcome to a very expensive hobby.
Its my first time building a pc and this is the exact build im going for! Cant wait for my parts to arrive
This case is amazing. I’ve brought it in planes before. Compact. Make sure you buy a pcie gen 4 riser 90 degree cable!!! That is long enough. That was my biggest problem. Google and you will find
Love these AMD builds!
I love build like this. I used to keep top of the line system for years until I became a father of four. I stopped PC gaming for over a decade and now I’m thinking about building a casual system.
I need is 1080 or 1440 with good fps and I’ll be happy 😊
Love your builds. I absolutely wanted an internal blu ray drive but was able to find something small that still allowed for internal drive and a big hdd drive. I used the a2000 which is a good little card but might eventually upgrade to something like this
Loving these videos.
Yay - more love for the mini ITX!
Love to see SteamOS. I have an Intel 12400 build with the 7600.
I love this style case. ive been looking at this one and ones like it for months now. i just gotta pull the plug and get it.
With all these small footprint builds, I want to get a full size tower and then piecemeal a mid size tower inside it and then a mini PC built into that. The Matryoshka build!
Thanks, liked this vid
👏👏👏👌🙌💯 awesome setup!
11:05 - Yeah, definitely the RX 7600 is underrated. I'm personally waiting for the XT which should be announced in a couple of weeks to pre-order it.
I could finally see a diffrrent cooler on that case
I love these builds. Your should make an Xbox Series X-esque "console" with SteamOS in this small form factor (or in something like the fractal ridge).
Nope
He did. The mini pc is on his previous video
@@Wunnabeanbagah, must have missed it.
If you’re mainly interfacing with SteamOS, then at that point just buy a console?
Console way cheaper
I got the same case as my living room PC. I convert it to vertical stand and add a cabinet handle in the rear for easy carry with some rubber feet in the front. I removed the crappy handle it came with. added pci-e gen 4 riser 185mm dual reverse. My rx 6800 fits perfect
You can also fit 2 fans at the bottom of the case to help with cooling.
Thats a Brave choice for the power supply.
Love this case since there's a handle on top. I do prefer the S400 since you can mount 2 slim fans on top, 1 in the bottom and can fit a 3 slot card. Planning to build one this 2024. 😁
Impressive!
I live in the micro ATX land and my build is in that range on the smaller side, so I love the SFF builds. 😅
I went with the S400 model. I'm running an a620i 7800X3D, IS55 and RTX 4070. I got some slim RGB fans for the exhaust
Love to see Steam OS on this build.
I have that case. I have an older build in it with RX 5700 XT. To up grade that build to elite strength is to use a 4070 in there. 4070 is way faster than 7600 and with DLSS 3.0 you can double or even triple it’s already amazing performance if you don’t mind AI frame generation. PNY has a 4070 that will easily fit into this case.
Cool! Awesome build!
Ive never been into ITX until I saw the ThermalTake Tower 100. Now Im building one for the wife and plan one for myself in a few years.
Such nice cases agreed 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 cheers and many healthy years for your family friend
u should do more videos like these my friend|!!! your videos are great!!!
Great Video. The RX 7600 looks like a better than I thought.
But I recommend waiting a little. AMD will release the RX 7600 XT shortly.
A Steam OS video sounds great.
Ooo I really like that case
I just CRAMMED a 7800X3D and a Radeon 7900 XT into this case. It's safe to say that it's FULL now. 😆😆
Love it, and nice work! ( I used the same cooler you did, but swapped out the fan for a Noctua Chromax slim fan. )
I probably wouldn't use an Apevia PSU tho... lol that's a bit bit sketchy, IMHO.
Nice AMD builds👍👍👍
It's been really beautiful watching Moore's law prove itself over time. In 4 years we'll have the ULTIMATE portable desktop builds!
As a former mITX only builder (from 2014-2021) I've floated going back several times, but its neigh impossible to get full performance from an RTX 4090 in mITX. A standard mid tower is practically SFF. I've considered the FD Ridge mod, a case I've built a R5 7600 6700XT rig in recently and used to have its grandfather way back in 2014, the Silverstone Raven.
i like the size its a 10/10 case
As a big rig bro, this makes me want to switch lol Im a minimalist by nature so this build really appeals to me
I'm the opposite lmao I like big builds and watercooling
I got some stability issues with the B650 + 7700X combo. Had to come back to the Intel camp sadly.
The maximum you can fit in is likely the Asrock dual-fan 7800XT
Looking forward to an emulation video!! 🎉🎉
You could've used a non-x version of the CPU since those Versions have slightly lower performance than it's X brothers, but they consume less power and generate less heat.
to add more cooling to the cpu is AM5 High Performance Heatspreader with good thermal paste to -10 to 20c depending on the paste and gpu....would use tfx
Great powerful small build!! Do the front panel is "resonating" from the GPU fans or not??
This is a nice build if you need to transport it. I would like a 4090 lunchbox build.
It Looks like it would run a 7950X in 105W ECO mode just fine, I think this is my short-listed system to build with that cooler.
I'm planning on building my next rig with this case or SSUPD Meshlicious.
would be great to compare the performance of low profile coolers using top tier fans like p30 or noctua ones
This is cool 👍
i currently have this card in the white Hyte Revolt 3 case and it looks amazing in the vertical position in that case but i do need to go even smaller with the case. Ive been looking for weeks for the perfect case and now I think i just found it. I cant believe the GPU fit so snug or at all for that matter.
I have the bigger brother of this case, the S400. I love it, have a 13400 and RX6800.
Good video. I just wish I new how much everything was together
When I did the math it was over 1.1k so not really budget. Also he didn't even use storage since the build is just scrapped together for views then torn apart after.
Love the small form factor. For non-builders, does any company build something like this for sale?
I like the idea of building a pc but have never done it before
I have that same ASRock Steel Legend RX7600 in an all-white mATX build and it is a beauty. Only downside is that OpenRGB doesn't support it and I refused to install Armory Crate POS on my PC. So, it doesn't work with my preferred ARGB controls :(
I like how it has a carrying handle. It’s like the Nintendo GameCube has grown up.
I personally cannot wait for the 8700G, or 8740G, or whatever they're going to call the desktop version of the 7940HX.
I feel like the ultra small form factor and hand held PCs are held back by lack of BIOS controls.
My Lenovo Legion Go and Minisforum UM790 are great performers, but they're either running really slow RAM(slower than the RAM on my 5700G) OR their MCLK/FCLK are running really slow, like on the Legion Go, with its RAM at 7500MT/s the MCLK/FCLK are running all the way down to 935Mhz, where as my 5700G will hit 2466 with tight timings(CL17-17-17-28), or 2500 with loose timings(20-22-22-39).
Yes , AAA will slay this setup like paper 👍🏻
I have been big rig for years, but not by any conscious choice, and I think I am gonna go much smaller the next time I renew.
Great video, could we see something related to the FSR 3.0 mod on the steam deck/rog ally 👀👀👀👀 pls?
Now that I know what SteamOS is like, I would love to see it running SteamOS. I bet it would be extremely good. Not a big fan of such small footprint PCs, but I do get why some would want one.
Btw there are more dimms which can fit in this setup and provide a better performance
There's a 7600 XT coming that has TWICE the VRAM...16GB. May be worth waiting for any sales on the current 7600 or to scoop the new card.
Yes, run Steam please. Great video as always.
Your link goes to the s300 withcthe gen 3 riser and I can't find the one with the gen 4 riser at all. Love the build though and I'm planning a similar build myself.
Small and compact can take it anywhere
7600xt,now that will be one to get
They charge more for smaller coolers on GPUs, as well, despite them having less metal and thus costing less to make.
ITX SFF is just not popular enough to justify mass production on components. Therefore the supply is limited which in turn increases production prices of everything. Technically they should be cheaper than even m-ATX but realistically until they grow more popular between us PC geeks they'll keep selling for a higher price.
@@dorayaki5494 What does any of that have to do with GPU manufacturers charging more for less? ASUS makes full size 4080 and 4070 GPUs with normal sized cooler and no RGB that they charge more for than the standard models that require more engineering and more materials to make.
@@TheZoenGaming A popular in-demand mass item will require mass material orders which in turn will cost cheaper because materials do get sold cheaper when ordered in bulk. I work in a company where such happens. As for GPU's you've kind of got the point there... Popularity & demand dictates prices most of the time. If that wasn't the case GPU's wouldn't cost 3x their MSRP during COVID for example. Materials prices remained the same during the pandemic but they were scarce and demand was high. So PC components prices in general shot up like crazy. ITX goes somewhat the same way but as a different story. Demand isn't high so despite material availability they won't order in bulk to manufacture PC cases or motherboards which leads to a higher manufacturing price.
@@TheZoenGaming another additional line to manufacture with separate tooling, among other costs. and the volume made in bulk for ITX isn't as forgiving vs say MATX-ATX. less volume produced = higher price sold to recoup manufacturing cost. making less volume also means less risk for manufacturers as well. as much as ITX seems to be popular with people, that's not the same with the manufacturers themselves - with the complete exception of those who make SFF products specifically.
_sigh_ The ProArt card line isn't specifically made for ITX systems.
Furthermore, there are 11 cards in the line up, from the 4060 through to an overclocked 4080, so they aren't that niche. The reason they charge more for these cards is because they market them for "professionals".
I can guarantee you that these cards are not drastically more expensive to make than the normal cards considering that if they were ASUS would only have one or two cards, likely just the 4080 and the overclocked 4080.
4:49
I guess that's as close as we'll ever get to your head... You're slipping!
great looking build
if this is how good the 7600 is then i think the 7600 XT will be a card on my to buy list
My ryzen 7700x idles at 42c with a deep cool ak500 that I paid 30$ for I recommend the ak620 though since during a stress test it will throttle
LAN parties would have been soo much easier back in the day with a build this small
Also, I recognize the screwdriver... I have the same! Lol. Lost the rear spinning part a long time ago
Great build. The Radeon RX 7600 is one of the best budget GPU IMHO. I used one in a micro ATX build for a friend and it works great for 1080p games!
This was my wife's case for her gaming rig, until I upgraded her rig from the 5800x3D to a 7800x3D and the Fractal Terra. This case is very fun to build in.
5800X3D is better.
Right now I have the Fractal Terra which is very similar to this case but man… I want this, it’s even SMALLER! Too bad I can’t find one with a gen 4 riser cable. Maybe I can buy one separately and install it on my own.
7700X might be a little overkill for the RX 7600 you could save some money and probably wouldn’t even have much (if any) difference in performance using a Ryzen 5 7600
Nice
Idle temp seems high!
Watching ETAPrime flip the ram 3 times during installation.
Relatable! Usual installation wizardry. Same with USB ports. You just need to be faster than the slot messing with you. =P
Happy 2024 everyone
I have the IS50 which doesn't have a backplate. Tjis newer is55 seems so much less sketchy compared to my older one
Are you sure that riser cable is gen 4? I've never seen these cases offer one with a gen 4 riser cable ready?
PC gaming won't stress CPU that much but RCPS3 sure will. Just finished Battlefield Bad Company on that emulator and my CPU was hitting 90C constantly.
I’m looking at the 7600xt. It looks like it SHOULD fit but it’s been a few years and I’m not quite sure of the case size in comparison
I love the case it looks like a guitar amp😂😂😂
Have you had any issues with the riser cable? Are they reliable?
CRUCIAL PRO DDR5 32gb that is what i got for my htpc with the same cooler
Steam OS would be nice
