Played in whitewater many times before the sea...The proper ocean was STILL overwhelming first time.. Top, top instructor made us all roll (slalom kayaks) BEFORE we left (Tenby) harbour. Smart call, broke the spell. I know this is outside the scope of this video, but...Take care, all. It's a privilege to be offshore, not a right. Learn your trade, don't be an expensive rescue project, and above all, don't become a statistic.

Thumbs up for you Dan. Was special to see the seal! I could not do that, even in a 30' cruiser - I have irrational fear of the sea; Inland Waterways and rivers, no problem.
At a certain point of the West Cork coast over here, in the summer months, there is a company that offer "night kayak safari's" - take you out in the pitch black when the sea is alight with millions of microscopic life which reflect myriads of colours from the moon, effective especially when there is a light mist. NOT for me, especially when we do gets quite a few basking shark and also Orca's as well as blue shark - IN A KAYAK!!?? MAD!!

Yeah, tbh this Kayak is not really meant for the Ocean. Could you take it out? Sure, but like you see in this video there is no drain and it is not self bailing.
Hopefully your were testing the waters for a sail to America to visit your viewers on this side of the "pond"

I used this kayak to paddle out to old soaker (seen in picture). I think somebody should go over Niagara Falls with one and a cowboy hat on 😂

Hey Jazu, I know this is a bit late. However, you should be fine. My big advice is not to inflate the bottom part of the seat that the kayak comes with. Otherwise there shouldn't be an issue tbh. One las thing, I probably wouldn't risk taking this Kayak out on the ocean or where there are big/ rough waves because, as you can see in this video too, there is no drain.

Inflatable kayaks don't track well at all, not really for the sea.
does the skeg not help?
I had one of those. waves of 1.5 meters are too high for it, on 40 cm it bent ... (ended with deformed and blown kayak).

Guy Dafny u were using the k2 version.
I find the k1 much easier to use on the sea as it is not as long. The k2 is more for lakes and canals
