I have only heard him this morning for the first time.
I have now elected Tom Ball as possessing the most beautiful and pure voice I have heard in all my 70 years.
But when he adds range, technique, and above all, sheer genuine passion for what he sings, well, this guy's a world beater.
Plus, he is utterly likeable.
His range is crazy!!!!! This is a really hard song to sing and I know Tom Jones would kill it singing thisâŠ.. but when he hits those notes at the end you taken this song to a higher level of singing!!!!! Totally applaud and love this rendition!!!!!â€ïžđŒđ¶đ”â€ïž

Dear Sir, (Mr Ball ) I am now 53 years old (today actually lol) ... My technical drawing teacher was the biggest man I've ever seen, to this day, he was huge. He , before he became a teacher was in the Welsh Guards. He was strict, he was stoic , and my god you didn't piss about in his class! I was in a mixed secondary school and he would tolerate no shenanigans from the boys. It always made me laugh, they all thought they could get one over on him. Nope! They're two things I remember about him, his sense of humour ( which I now know was questionable with young teenagers!) but, most importantly his voice. This man could rumble mountains, when he sang I felt lifted up inside. My saddest memory was when his wife died. We walked into class and I said c'mon Sir, what are you singing today? In all my life I've never heard such beauty sung like he did that day, he broke my heart, no idea what the song was, it was in Welsh, but we all felt it. His voice , his pain, I can't even begin to describe. No TD was done that day, we all sat around him on the floor in a circle and just gave him love. Even the boys. That was the first time I'd ever seen a man cry. It's a memory I will cherish forever. Not many teachers to my recollection got that kind of love and respect. Mr McGuire, Sir. You were a legend. Mr Ball, Sir...This is what you took me back to. I don't care you didn't win, irrelevant. You got this teach...;) go for it xxxx

It was much more than just talent - there are all kinds of singers with talent. This guy had a polished and totally flawless vocal technique. And having studied and majored in voice as a music major in college, I should know flawless vocal technique when I see it.
He should have won đ...not only a perfect voice but a lovely man whom loves his job and cares about his pupils.

I have watched this performance at least ten times.....every moment of hearing his voice sends shivers through me..... Embracing every note sung where especially high notes just grabbed me with pleasure. I enjoyed being raptured into the music and words......wishing someone would love me with the passion like Tom does singing this song. Soooooo beautiful. Thank you for every repeat listen. I would buy any recording Tom puts out. I think the album would sell millions.

Just found out about Tom Ball from his 'Sound of Silence' performance and it led me to this video. Omg this guy is a superstar... That last note put me in a coma đ€Ż. Like out of nowhere, such an incredibly hard note to hit and he does it as if he was God singing himself lol. What the actual... Blew my mind, what a performance. Man I can't believe he didn't win. I'll have to get caught up on the other performers but man, just wow... Literally the perfect performance, I'm blown away by that. Hope he pursues a career in singing or having a lead roll in Broadway or something, he's absolutely destined to be a superstar in that career path.

I believe this young man will be an international star. His fiancee seems very sweet and so much in love. I'm very happy for his success. Kids, you may not have him as a teacher much longer, but I guarantee you'll never ever forget him. He's obviously a very gifted teacher as well.
