Heck yeah! Great Mouse Detective is one of the best underrated Disney movies!! And I agree, Felicia the cat eating Bartholomew the drunk mouse is so scary, esp. the low, forboding bells tolling in the backround, signalling his death. And the climax scene where Ratigan loses his temper and the camera follows him running up the clock gears in blind rage...*chef's kiss* Beautiful and terrifying scene!

The event that happens in Big Hero 6 is called a flashover. It normally happens in events where a window or door is opened. The fire surges toward that large source of oxygen causing an explosion. Its why we vent the roof of a building before going in. Chicago Fire has a similar opening as well when that series starts because one of the fire fighters went in to early before the roof was vented after hearing someone inside.
The only good thing is if your ever stuck in an area where a flashover occurs it will be very quick if not instant as the temperature can reach at times over 1000 degrees.

With Pinocchio, Lampwick's hands changing into hooves is an amazing piece of animation! Add on top that, how much imagination of the viewer is conveyed through just Lampwick's shadow is superb. I remember when I saw the movie as a kid being shocked and believing that if you're a bad boy you'll change into a donkey.
Disney amplified boys being bad by drinking beer, smoking cigars, having no moral compass to do what's right, and being destructive. Disney definitely would not put this kind of behavior in their movies nowadays. It almost seems that now Disney has become a source of sugarcoating things, which I think is a shame. Kids need to feel a wide range of emotions.
I mean, to put it into perspective, I was born in 1983, so I was real little when Disney was in their darkest period. The Black Cauldron, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Watcher in the Woods, Return to Oz, to name a few . And then when I was 10 I discovered R-Rated horror movies. Interview with a Vampire and Pet Sematary were the first two I ever saw. My mom wasn't happy when she found out I was watching those kinds of movies, but she didn't shelter me from them. She sat me down and asked me if I realized movies, especially horror movies, are fake, not real. And I said that I did. So she said I could continue watching R-Rated movies, but break up watching them by watching something familly-friendly inbetween. So even though I started watching R-Rated movies, I was still watching family-friendly Disney movies that have some dark moments. You could say those dark Disney moments helped me get into R-Rated horror movies.
Of course, each indvidual is different so not every one is going to have the same experience I had growing up, but I'd hate to see kids nowadays not have a proper backbone. Don't let them become a complete snowflake. Don't shelter them to the point that it could be smothering for them. Children start becoming individuals when they're preteens, so let them discover things for themselves. Instead of sheltering them from something they discover that you're not happy with, work with your children not against them.
Sorry for the long post, but even though this is one person's opinion, this is a topic that needs to be talked about and not be ignored. As the song goes, children are our future, let them grow up the way they want to, but of course, within reason. If you're a parent be supportive, yet firm with your children.

To be fair, there's plenty of adult themes in Disney movies, especially in older ones. And that was one of the reasons why Disney eventually branched out and created Touchstone back in the 80s. Disney executives at the time wanted to start making more adult themed movies. Up until that point, Disney only made movies that were ratedd G and PG. Creating Touchstone allowed them to make PG-13 and R-rated movies.

That big hero six was triggering. My 12 year old cousin ran back into his burning home for his pug. He did not make it. They found him holding the remains of the dog. People don’t understand that even if a fire doesn’t seem out of control it’s something that can immediately change. So sad.
