- Tried Crabbing a.k.a. Crab-Fishing along Pulau Burung Walkway, situated right in front of Pantai Cahaya Negeri, Port Dickson. Had no luck, the sun was gone, so we set up camp and cooked ourselves a scrumptious dinner.
After a power nap, we had another attempt at catching crabs again, this time using barbecue thongs while walking on the sea bed at low tide.

Hi Jun! Great to see you back from Japan. Just a word of advice. Do not, I repeat, do not reuse mineral water containers for your water even if you boil or cook them. This is because mineral water containers are the lowest quality of plastics, called PET plastics. Reason is over time, the micro-plastic from the containers will find its way into the water and ultimately will get into your blood. It’s worst if the containers are exposed to heat in your car. Scientist had conducted a test in Netherlands where only 22 persons were selected at random and the test revealed 17 of them had micro-plastics in their blood. So avoid them or even better avoid mineral water totally coz you cannot be sure how the transportation and handling were done from factory to retail outlets and exposure to heat.
Get good plastic containers with BPA FREE if you must and even better if it’s made of Tritan plastic. Of course, glass containers are the best but ease of transportation and weight is an issue especially for camping.
NEVER try you luck with driving on sand, more so loose sand, with a 2-wheel drive vehicle. Even 4x4 can get bogged down in it.

Wow! You are back from the Land of the Rising Sun and gotten to good ole PD! When you mentioned the term "crabbing", it made me smile as you had very,innocently, added the "ing" to the word "crab"... ha! just FYI, technically, the term crabbing refers to a situation when a vehicle encounters "incorrect wheel alignment settings" which makes the rear axle NOT to follow the same direction as that of the front axle. Serious tyre wear and steering control,are the two potential disasters from crabbing. Having said so, there are vehicles that have rear wheel steering ( hummer) which sort of makes intentional use of crabbing. ha ha. Glad you n Kak did get some catch...rgds.
Oh so Crabbing IS a legit word, albeit having a totally different meaning. Thanks again for this info. To me it's simple. Catching Fish = Fishing, so Catching Crab = Crabbing!

This is a free and public place, but not a designated campsite. In fact, recently the authorities have started to forbid any camping here.

I did have an experience where my car stuck on the beach before, it's so helpless and scary....
Oh yeah, not very fun. We were lucky we were at a beach with crowd, so help was not far away :)

We went in from Pantai Nelayan side. Had to drive over a small stretch of sandy area (which explains the last part of the video!)

1.15m - i knew liangnoy Jun is going to camp overnight by looking at the video duration, hihihi
6.25m - wrong or not proper way of holding your fishing rod, this way might cause u to loose your rod while casting where u might 'throw' it alway accidentally, also when hook up a big fish, it might just pull your rod into the water
12.20m - great water lever measurement, v all practice the same, hihihi
22.13m - Woke up with one eye close n later karaoke with a firewood really funny n cute, hihihi
25.20m - By the way do u know how to differentiate a male n female crab ? Here a male which has a smaller err sorry i don't know the name, the part that u try to tear off
Crabbing quite relying on season, tide n lubuk(u already got the correct set up n bait), may b luck is not on your n Kak Maz side, yet

Fortunately PD is a busy place, otherwise being stuck at the beach definitely a nightmare, nextime place be more careful n vigilance about the 'road' condition
