The consensus in the Twitch chat during the event is that the earbuds are for the audio and the over-the-ear headsets are to block out the crowd noise

Buds still give great directional sound. My cheap buds give me better directional sound than my Bose headphones in counterstrike.

I miss ground pound tbh Spartan charge not so much though. Ground pound punished players for recklessly charging one shot players.

Not only did it punished players who wanted to finish their kills but every other player. I hated to be walking round the corner and suddenly get instantly killed by a ground pound. It takes no skill and its really hard to counter. It also gave players a 2nd chance if they messed up their jumps. Spartan abilities are the little wheels to the bike. They have no place in competitive halo and they are making the social players relay to much on them, reducing their potential as a player overall.

HCS will never reach the level that MLG was at with Halo. The energy doesn’t even compare. HCS always seems so dry.

They are both great. H3 was hands down amazing with the classic Halo feel. H5 is what all shooters are doing now with the sprint, slide, climber. Those new abilities add much more for people to have to master now then they did in H3. I love love the classic Halo feel but in all honestly after I got adjusted to the new abilities I find myself loving H5. People gave up on H5 way way to fast it didn't get it's fair shake from the "original" Halo players that love the way H1, H2, H3 play cause that's what we grew up with. Now that they added these abilities most of the "classic" player saw this and called H5 garbage without actually putting a fairly decent amount of time into, myself included I played H5 for maybe 2 months when it came out and sense they added sprint, etc. I was like "this is wack as hell they ruined the classic Halo feel" and I quit playing. Now a year or two later I came back and gave H5 another try and put alot of time into it and it surprised me I actually love playing it now the sprint and other new abilities add to the core Halo gameplay and expand it further and give you new things to master. You can use these abilities together to fly across the map to get where it going or you can use them together for a "super jump" to get to higher places that you couldn't by just jumping and crouching. I regret giving up on H5 so fast when it came out cause once you actually give it a fair shake it's a really fun and exciting multiplayer experience.
It takes a lot of skill actually, but a different type
The game has so much magnetism because the game is so much faster and people can move around the map faster with slides and thrusters.
Sniping was also much harder in h3
