Recent subscriber, Led Zeppelin is my all time favorite band and I laugh when I see your reaction to their music...you start out wide eyed/unknowing, then u get the groove of the song and you start squinting and moving to the beat, then once your fully entrenched in the beauty of the music n vocals your eyes are closed and you sometimes have to leave your seat because of the unbelievable sound. Its bad ass that the younger folks get it like we did back in the day...gr8 stuff man keep it up
I remember hearing "Hots On For Nowhere" on the local FM rock radio station quite a lot back in 1978-1979 when I was discovering the music of Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin released Presence in March of 1976 and In Through the Out Door in August of 1979. Waiting for three years and four months between albums was unusual back then. But it might have given DJ's reason to play deeper cuts on their albums in anticipation of new music from them. I wonder how much the funkiness of this track influenced bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Faith No More and Rage Against The Machine. Dig how doubling up the briskly descending scales during the lead out foreshadows the abrupt ending of the song.
Just wanted to say, what a cool, fun and upbeat channel you have here, Pope. I always enjoy your reactions because, yes, you don't pause, but just get into the music. That's what it's about my friend!!!
When rock bands used to swing hard. First four or so Aerosmith albums exhibit the same quality. The best rock drummers of the era were direct descendants of jazz drummers like Buddy Rich. You can hear it in a lot of Zep and of course, The Who.
Thank you for doing more Zeppelin. I love your reactions to them. Reminds me of why they are the greatest band to walk the earth!!!! Rock gods indeed !!!!
Great Pope video as always, I think David Bowie has been gone for a long time, it would be great if you check "Young Americans" on the Dick Cavett show in 1974, it was from his "Plastic Soul" period
Hots on for Nowhere is a fun song. Bonzo and Jimi having a great time. Just an overall great tempo progression chords song. Definitely In the light along with Ten years gone all time favorites from one of the greatest bands of all time.
Love your Zeppelin reactions! It's always awesome seeing their music pass on to new generations. You gotta check out the band Heart doing Stairway to Heaven at Zeppelin's Kennedy Center Honors, where they were given a presidential award from Obama. Plant, Page, and JPJ are there to see Heart, John Bonham's son Jason, and a huge orchestra and choir doing Stairway better than anyone but Zep themselves. It'll bring a tear to your eye, I promise!
All of this album was recorded after Robert's car accident. He wasn't happy with manager Peter Grant and Jimmy's decision to push right into work while he was injured and away from his family back in England who had also sustained injuries in the crash. That's why there's lyrics like "take it slower" and "land in a boat without oars", among others. The Presence album was a very difficult time for the band.
I saw your "want to pause it!" face when you were reading "that line," lol! Yeah, man, i'd never REALLY heard these lyrics before, having the words there sure helps. Very cool poetry. Robert Plant didn't ALWAYS write gems, but when he did--hoo boy! One of Page's coolest solos, too, I think. Then that utterly SICK groove pocket Bonzo falls into after the solo, man I always dance a little when i hear that! I often brought my boom box to jam in high school in the 80's. For casual Zep fans, THIS song was a cool discovery when I played it!
Actually I thought you were going to mention....land in a boat without oars...but I also love the quote you pulled as well. This song is slowly climbing to the top of my LIKE list Waiting for you to do For Your Life, same album.
Hey, I've been meaning to ask you if you've done any YES Live reactions. I don't think you have. I recommend you check out South Side of the Sky, Live at Montreux. It's from 2003. You'll greatly enjoy watching them perform : )
I love playing this track when I DJ. Kind of a deep cut, but it's a fun song to play out! Presence is an underrated Zeppelin record!

If you haven’t heard “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” yet, from the “Presence” album, buckle up! Another short but sweet deep cut is “Royal Orleans.”

Glad you enjoyed. Lessor known but a favorite among loyalists. The way it kicks back in and the grove with those drum rolls. The mighty Led Zeppelin

So was ITTOD
i forgot this song even existed lol. now if you've heard one AC/DC song, you've heard them all.
I know you already reacted to how many more time but the one they did at The Royal Albert Hall in 1970 live was FIRE…. It’s worth a look.
Crazy version, with a full medley that was later incorporated into WLL medley when HMMT was unfortunately cut from the setlist

I thought this was the weakest track on 'Prescence', Lol...but now I am not sure, haha!!
Don't forget to do Achilles last stand!
Thanks for doing this! Love this song! “In the Light” would be a good choice from the Physical Graffiti album.

I'm surprised Zep isn't getting blocked. They usually block. Maybe they stopped being stupid? Here's hoping : )
led zep mainly does not care, warner bros does the blocking.
@@saminislam2043 got it. So Warner Brothers are the idiots. Makes sense.
only álbum with no acoustic guitar,,!
Lot of Rapping going on and has start&stop drumming which lends itself to a hip hop beat.
