I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

Fun(or actually not so fun) fact, the rhynio’s breeding method of impregnating creatures and having the babies burst out is taken from the real life breeding methods of some wasp species. Tarantula Hawks are large wasps that hunt tarantulas and other spiders. When ready to breed, females will find a tarantula, sting it and paralyze it, drag the spider back to its nest, then lay their eggs on it. The eggs hatch on the paralyzed spider, and the larvae eat it. In Ark the creature immediately dies once the baby bursts out, which is for the best since in real life it’s actually a much slower, more horrific process.
The Emerald, xenomorph, or jewel wasp does the same to cockroaches but with added Hallucigenic chemical mind control!
I'm sending you two my therapy bill for this.
Is it possible to get a tamed female rhyniognatha to impregnate the subject because noglins can control the rhyniognatha
Yep, but it doesn't really have anything to do with IRL rhynio, of which we only have a head, I think. Can't remember if it's an amber fossil or an imprint, though.
@@DracoJ Speaking of Xenomorphs, would have been cool if this was how the reaper worked. Maybe it shoots a face hugger at your dino, ya know. Then your dino has a baby reaper, chest burster style.
"How are we gonna balance this creature"
"No"
balance? in ark? looking directly at manas and dolphins
@@fatlizard_ which are both nearly useless now because of being nerfed into the ground
@@jestershyper happened back in the day to stuff like pteras too lol. don't even get me started on gigas
@@fatlizard_I will get you started on gigas even tho this a 9 month convo. FUCK GIGAS BRO. They use to be good just taming a level 30-50. Now you have to mutate them for months on end to get the best possible giga. Some bullshit.
Thank you Raas for spreading the helpful info, keep up the good content 👍
Watched this and syntac's both are amazing. Rhino can be trapped and re breed. Rng is indeed a part. Feeding the cravings completely gives best chance of higher Stat babies. But all babies so far are male only. Thank you Raas for a great quick guide. Behe gates do seem to make best simple trap for this.
Rhino?
@RPA rhynio sorry lol
Phlinger Phoo's video is pretty in depth too. He also does some experimentation, if I remember right. Idk, it's a lot of videos with similar content today, I may be mixing it up.
I think it’d be interesting if you could get your own female rhynios and impregnate any of your own creatures instead of just breeding more normally
Very thorough! Thanks Raas!

thanks a bunch Raasclark!
You always have the best tips and tricks to all ark and its creatures ❤
A little clarification on the "drag weight" It only determines the chance that the Ryhniognatha carries the stats from the host so choosing to use something like a bronto would only be wise if you already breeding brontos for hp stats. Gigas would be great because breeding melee in them is common and already bred pretty high. Having to start a new line of brontos just to get a slightly better chance to carry stats would take more time/space/energy than to just use rexes that you already have hp/melee bred way higher in 9/10. Its cool to note that brontos/gigas/carchas/megas all give the max % conversion of stats BUT the ammount of time it would take to get any of those 4 tames to the stats that most people have their rexes (mine are 150HP, 120Melee) would take months as oppose to just killing a bunch of the rhyniognatha and spam taming with cloned or bred rexes to get the hp/melee i already worked on breeding. Just an important note.
Thanks since I've messed up getting a rhynio a lot today
Great video, Raas.
Direct, informative, thorough, and all with your singature editing and charisma.
Do ONLY base stats from the impregnated dino matter?
Or do LEVELED stats count?
Base stats
This creature is amazing and thanks for this fast and easy tutorial :)
I have already several fully mutated Gigas to try (the colors are amazing as well). Since I have a breeding pair as bacup, I think I can sacrifice some for this bug :D
brilliant, thanks Raas
I don't like the long list of things it can crave, that is over the top IMO but besides that, looks like a scary fun time is ahead with these.
Rass always coming clutch best ark yt
Dude this is insane i am dreadframes i fully posted it expected nothin thought nothing of it and now its in the game XD
Great video I’ll be breeding up some brontos tonight.
Thanks raas i needed to know this LOL
My fav ark youtuber Raasklark + Syntac +loaded cresis needy the noodles + furious jumper
Big Motha-Bugger...can't wait to get my hands on it.
Quick guide. This guy gets it.
Perfect timing
I've noticed that every DLC the featured insect gets more powerful, I was wondering what the Islands OP insect was but turns out he was just late to the game🎉
What are the other features insects? Mantis for scorched, what are the others tho?
Karkinos
Gasbag
Bloodstalker
Noglin
(Karkinos aren't insects but neither are bloodstalkers and I'm pretty sure that ones right so I'm guessing the crabs correct. I'm not that knowledgeable about gen 2 but noggins are called "brain slugs" so maybe them, still most of these are certainly stretches)
Thats my best guess.
Considering the level thing with movement speed, Quetzals and Wyverns would be the best for this since they don’t get stats in movement speed, making them a better host
Do they impregnate flyers?
@@samsparkes7280 should do it to anything, the reason Flyers are better is because a 150 won’t have any points into Speed so the rest of their stats get a buff, 60+ is considered great in flyers so using a Wyvern or Quetz with a high HP or damage stat will give the best results
@@popclamp3508 it doesn't do every dino
@@samsparkes7280 it’s based on weight, so it should work with quetz and I know it works on wyverns
Diplodocus could be good too though no? If I recall they can't be melee mutated since they only have a head shove, nor can they be pointed in melee. Plus the drag weight is way higher.
Listen, people Pay attention to grab structures. It needs resin you can grab few stuff but it is very useful and BE CAREFUL NOT running out of resin while grabbing a structure be it tek transmiter, generator or vault because it you run out it will automatically destroy it
Oo will keep this in mind xD
Oof definitely keep this in mind
love your videos
This thing is damn fast.
I thought it would be pretty slow but no it has the speed of an attack helicopter indeed.
Raas just a headsup a patch was released that changed it to where now only males drop the pheromone
What a final creature...
It's like they stitched many traits from different dinos into it
Wish I could take one since I only play on Switch I'm gonna have to wait 1000 years lol
I've been wondering for a while but how does ark run on switch and does it crash loads?
@@professionalfucktard6395 From my experience it does crash but only twice and my switch is pretty old so it might be just that?
It's enjoyable just with fewer graphics
@@KilroyStillHere alright thanks
I really wish they were on Fjordur. My singleplayer map is there and i want to test it
Thanks rass ❤❤
BUG ❤
Oh yeah, since the initial writing of the taming guide I've learned two more things of note.
On the smaller side of things, supposedly, organic polymer is also on the list of potential craving requests.
And, a far more major thing to note. You cannot use tek, aquatic or unbreedable creatures as hosts, nor can you use creatures below a certain size. The Trike and Shadowmane seem to be on the smaller side of hosts that can be used.
Do stegos work?
I tried to use a dodo before I knew much about it and nothing happened
@@LeoTheYuty Yes, Stegos are big enough to be used
@@emperortethysusdacertified8175 awesome, thanks
Can't use Unbreedable or tek creatures?
Interesting
Our savior is here!
Sheeesh the baby isn’t even born yet and wants 5 star food 😵💫
Man i hate the swamp.
for the trap Syntac just used a few behemoth gates and they worked perfectly.
In case anyone didn't know, Rhynio can stand upright on a cliff, tree or something like taperaja or desmodus
Yah this is very true. Just watched syntacs vid and he had a lvl 854 rhino bug😂
I've been searching since release and haven't seen 1 yet on ofc.
Thank you!
There seems to be a bug where if the Rhynio lands it can't do it's impregnate attack and it gets stuck on the ground, making it useless for the purpose of impregnating.
Also, some dinos aren't able to consume the pheromone, like Stegos and Ankys, for whatever odd reason.
Also, the Stego seems to have a few more bugs, vs the Rhynio, like reflecting dmg back at it (had a stego on passive kill a Rhynio , some how) and it's impale attack seems to 1-shot Rhynios (requires the Rhynio to land). 😅
There is a drag weight limit it seems. Under 300 can't consume. At least for me.
I notice that bug when they get stuck on the ground. Kiting it into to deep enough water makes it fly and fixes that.
@@cmnightpurse Ah, nice! ty
@@DracoJ Interesting. That's probably it, since a stego is only 250, despite being larger than a trike. I wish they had made that clear on the tooltip for the pheromone. ty
Well pray cuz we ain't getting bug fixes. (Pun not intended)
Before people lose there minds about this thing being OP need I remind you that this is a flying creature. So not only will it take 3x damage from ranged weapons but are old friend the Velonasaur will likely make a joke out of this thing.
Imma laugh hard if it's armor ability negates the Velo debuff 😂
@@unluckyluchiano6092 It's a damage reduction boost so no plus that would also mean it would counter the Reaper so of course it's not going to do that. People will want to know how to counter thing jack of all trades in the sky when the best thing you have is all ready in game...plus we all ready know the net gun works on it. If your talking non cluster server island only map your going to have to give me some time on that...use a chain bolo while you wait and maul it to dead the a Thylo

Or you know? a net and a rex could work just fine
can you use the pheramone on your rynio and have it impregnated? (basically breeding rynios, one tamed the other wild) the fact it cannot breed like normal might be putting a stop to super breeders, but if this works it might still work
I wonder if the Egg Incubator buff lets you see the inherited stats before birthing so you can save your tame for another try?
I tried this on unofficial and didn't see anything either I'm blind but I didn't see anything
Rhyniognatha And Troodons using the big boy dinos
And carchas
So wait just to clarify do you have to fill each craving for it to birth or is that just to get the highest possible stats cause there is no way I can gather all those things by myself at my level and even if I could that’s a lot of time and energy on the off chance it wants one of those things and I would also hate to lose a baby because I couldn’t feed the dinosaur element
Seems like the taming method for an insatiable hoarder like myself. 👍
Love you
I know you can’t cryopod an impregnated creature but I wonder if you can transfer it since when u get impregnated by a reaper you keep the baby on transfer
Correct me if im wrong, but does this mean that on official servers where tames have capped points there is na chance the rhynio will take those over? So u can get a 254 points in hp rhynio for example, that surely wouldnt be broken with there dmg reduction and good saddles
Yes that is absolutely correct
Finally got my first one from a 140. Used a 245 trike for it and got some decent stats.
But I crave more… Bronto taming time!
I wonder if the desmodus elixir helps at all?
I found out the Rhynio can pick up reaper queens. That is insane
Wild makes reaper taming easy. Also picks rexes which is a complete game changer in pvp
Am I the only one who finds this absurd...
@@Mephilis78 well if you watch the insects in real life i could say this is kinda normal! Bc if you watch example the ant it can transport anything that has 4 or 5 times is weight, insects are indeed very strong! But we are talking about a video game so this is kinda op for what we have!
what about Quetzls or other flying dinos? Since they don't have speed stats, would that help with maxing out the level?
I bred a strain of bronto for literally carry weight and stamina alone, not health or melee, or anything else. And I ended up getting a rhino Natha that is amazing for farming and searching runs at least until the wyvern‘s come out on ASA.
Please Use a Titansuar, Extinction Titans, and even Try with a Mek be it a Exo-Mech or other.. I want to see if those can be used as "Hosts"
its metioned that they need to be breedable creatures to be a host
So when you get a creature to be impregnated do you NEED to use the craving or can you do any of them
can it go underwater on its own or do you have to ride it?
Curious to know if you can KO and get the pheromone like megalania toxin. That would be handy
no
Raasclark i have a question how much time is needed to a baby rhynio to born in official? Bc i have another question if the baby come out less than 24h could we use the tita to make a baby rhynio? I have also thought the titans in extintion but you know……
Well, I guess I won't have to worry about trying to tame and breed these....
Waaaaay to involved for me
So can you get damage into them and how do u multiply them into more can u impregnate your own tames ?
Syntac discovered you can trap it in 5 behemoth gates
Fun fact in game thr rhyo can grable to walls like des and u can pull out weapons on it too
Has anyone tested the effect of breeding it with x or r variants? Id be interested to see if any of the special effects of those carry over
sooooo my understanding is that drag weight affects the BASE stats and then then the levels of the parasitized creature are passed on to the baby Rhynio just like breeding?
I think it is time to go back in ARK... Just need to free my whole hard drive for this)
Can you make a list of all the carving items?
Flying reaper
I would love to see a fight between a mutated+imprinted Megatherium and a Rhynio born from a twin to that Megatherium.. I have no means to try that myself tho..
If you find the time and a friend that can battle you *hint hint*, it would be awesome to see if *the* bug killer of the game can kill THIS bug when equal in strength stat wise..
If you’re trying to get it to impregnate more than one dino is there a method to that or does it only happen by chance?
Good luck on dox
you can trap and reuse them. syntac did a video showing this.
It's been patched so you have to get the pheromone from males. Just wondering has anyone tried a titan or titanosaur
That ice titan about to have a lvl 6538 rynio burst out of it
Titanos can't be given the pheromone, titans probably work the same
I want to know if you can impregnate an Titanosaur and what kind of Stats the baby will get
So in other words, this is the overworld version of the Reaper.
Does this one work with wild Rhynio or can I use an already tamed one?
I've been looking all day and only found males so I have 39 pheromones so yay
Is the rhyonagathrna just only spawns on lost island and island?
Yup
Do you have to feed them all the expensive things
This is on an official server right? Im asking beccause ive heard that the bosses are weaker in singleplayer about 67% and we as ark noobs are about to try fighting the broodmother with around 10k health and 400 meele, is it doable or are we gonna get absolutely obliterated?
its absolutely hilarious that the moment you get tranquilizer arrows and a crossbow you can get this thing off a bronto
How do you know if the cravings are working? I force fed the superior kibble 5x and it still says craving superior kibble
Do applied stats points also get taken over, or is it just post tame+ mutation stat points?
Base
@@Raasclark alright thanks
Cool
Finally
highest level ive gottten is 136 from breeding a 180 with a high ML and high HP ferox. IDK man i didnt breed anything else like i bred the ferox do i have to use gigas or large creatures to get higher level rhynio? and i also have everything it asked for in cravings but didnt once transfer any stats from ferox only stats from mommma rhynio! im not fully understanding the stats transfer ive tried 5 times all ranging from level 72-136 from a 180 rhynio my tribemates trapped
hey raas, does the rhynos projectile do more dmg depending on the stat? or is it locked at 75 dmg?
Pretty sure it’s locked i tested it yesterday and it was all 75
@@ASpicyGator they should buff it tbh
@@t3xtn0t35 kind of a jack of all trades and utility flyer idk if it should be that strong dps wise, we’ll have to see i guess.
Sorry if its been mentioned, but Syntac managed to trap a max level and keep it trapped using 5 Behemoth Gates.. Once the gigas were impregnated, he would net the bug to move the gigas outside the trap.. It seems to me like the post impregnation fleeing is similar to torpor-running tho, so netting might not always be neccessary.. Just dont get to close to the trap, cuz at some point it will become angry again and jizz on you.. 😂
Bronto might be the best but I personally not going to mutate them just to get strong big ass wasp (while having 60hp 60 stam and 100+atk carcha)
Can I get any tips on ark because I’m not the best
use behe gates for trap@raas
Does anyone know if you can use fertilized eggs for the feedings or do they HAVE to be unfertilized eggs?
Did this on pvp: use Karkinos to pick up 2 stegos, then used rhynio to pick up the karkinos, chuck itbon the back of a quest in a metal box… You now have the tackiest tank in the history of tanks. And it flies…
Is it possible to het a tamed female rhyniognatha to inject into a creature and have a baby come out because noglins can control the rhyniognatha
What happens when you don’t feed the host anything it craves for?
Less stats
I have been looking for hours and I can't find one do you know where the spawns are?
I know that syntac successfully trapped one. He used the behe gates I believe. It has to be able to fly around I think..
Trying to get this on a boosted server. I intentionally want it low level so that I can manage what stats to put into it and this create a god, like I did with the multiple enforcers at our base… but we don’t talk about what happened to them.
