When you have a simple idea about the meaning of a card, it's easy to dismiss it and try to find something significant or earth-shattering to say. However, simple is often, or usually, better and gives you confidence in your reading.

I was in rehab earlier and having a hard emotional time. I wanted to leave and had decided to but did a one card tarot reading before I did and I got this upright. First thing I saw was me walking away from abundance , struggling with a stick, into the mountains for a hard time. Basically telling me to stay in rehab if I want the cups. I left still. Perhaps I need to find a new way . Thank you

great video! i just got my first tarot deck and how i’m learning is by letting a card jump out as i shuffle and then learning about it over the next day or so, with the very first thing being studying it in my hand and noting my first initial reactions and intuition about the card. this is the first card of that first day, and what’s interesting is the first thing i noticed was actually the geometry of the card, not in how you explained, which was very useful by the way, but in terms of the artistic composition in the cups. it’s like a pretty design weaving together at the bottom, yet disjointed and incomplete in a way. logically if i was arranging 8 cups i’d put 4 on top 4 on the bottom nice and parallel, yet this card has 5 neatly across the bottom with 2 on top a gap and then another final one. i guess that represents the dissatisfaction of the thing you’re leaving behind, but interestingly looking through that gap you see the foot of the person is framed by the cups. it’s like the steps they’re taking away are the missing piece of the arrangement, they are still part of the composition yet seem unaware and i’d assume unbothered by it. do you think this is a valid interpretation? that maybe say in your “am i going to get with the dude in the office?” example, the answer would be ‘no, one of you will walk away seeking something greater elsewhere, but in doing so, that will entirely unknowingly complete the other person”. i don’t think this is a usual interpretation from a quick google, but it’s what drew my eye in when i first looked at the card.

This card was in my relationship spread on his half of the cards, I ended the relationship, with this card I had 9 of swords and then king of wands, the outcome card was the lovers.. im confused, does this mean he regrets me ending things? does the lovers mean hes coming back?
I know this is 9 years old but if you still wanna know, it means you took action based on your emotional state but you made a major choice that was aligned with you.
