These are great sleds! That's some pretty great work on that sled getting it running.
I love the 440s are strong reliable engines indeed.
My cousin and I took the 94 engine out of an abandoned wrecked body years ago with 2,549miles. Carbs and harness were intact, exhaust pipe got crushed.
Then he and I rebuilt the engine which had clean cylinders, crank was sound he changed the bearings, seals, pistons, and gaskets. I added tygon fuel line throughout.
I found a nice 91JagDlxLT body and got it running. He lowered the gearing, and changed the clutching, it does about 45 plus but has great low-end towing power. Very reliable I've had a blast hauling loads of wood this winter with my new Cat! Which I began to respect. My 1st Cat as of 2022!

I like those old 340/440 sleds from Cat. I have a 95 puma w/ 340 that I put about 1,000 miles on last year. Nothing but reliable and smiles. It was a bit slow as it would max out around 50-60mph on the flats depending how long the straight was. My main riding buddy would have to wait here and there for me to catch up. It'll be much better this year. I found a rotted out 94 jag Z440 for $50 and pulled all the good stuff from it and transplanted into the Puma. I also rebuilt engine, which had a good crank, case and cylinders, with new crank seals, pistons, rings, gaskets, etc. Also added the roller secondary, dual carbs, oil tank, tach, front stabilizer bar, wire harness etc. Now it has the low oil warning indicator and hand warmer indicator. Should be a nice lil ripper!

this is a great video, in the beginning of the video, I have a identical Jag Deluxe. Have you ever had an issue with it idling when warm? Mine is a 94 with 1300 mile. Been doing it sense new

What did you do with the wires going to the carburetor, I have a 92 Prowler 440 liquid cooled with the same setup but the magnets were missing inside the carburetor so do you just leave the wires disconnected or do you tie them together somehow.

Did it start acting up after running for a while or all good after the cleanup?

That was I nice tutorial on cleaning the carbs. Thanks 👍 where did you end up on the idle air screws. You said you were going to start at 1-1/2 turns out.

Ended up leaving them at 1-1/2 turns out. After turning the gas back on she was right on the money idling😛
