A quick Google search didn't find me any official statements by Gucci and instead only off-hand allegations / comments by fans in comment sections. Also, it's worth noting brand deals are not a simple yes / no type situation. It could be that the terms were unfavourable and/or too restrictive. And a "no" decision from JYPE doesn't indicate who within the company made that decision - it could be company execs of Tzuyu herself (e.g. if the terms offered weren't satisfactory, etc). As such, with news like this, how much details we know is highly important.

Tzuyu is so famous since debut, she has the potential to be an ambassador. But I think JYP is afraid that Tzuyu will overshadow the group that will lead to disbandment, like what happened with Suzy/Miss A.
To be a brand ambassador, a fashion brand has to contact the label and request for that member to be their brand ambassador. The company doesn't call fashion brands saying "hey you, I've decided I want my K-pop idol as brand ambassador for you, so now let's sign the contract with MY conditions" . Besides, if some brands requested Tzuyu to be brand ambassador, there is first Tzuyu that can also decide to not accept. The terms the brand gives are not acceptable/compatible with her schedule, or they might pretend too much .
@@claudiaStay Not exactly, there are plenty of situations where there might be a position for sponsorship available and brands don't really care who from the group is the ambassador so the company are the ones who make that arrangement. There are also several instances where the company can decline ambassadorships or even ask the company to change the conditions. Example: in izones first sponsorships with a Chinese company was supposed to only be for sakura but the company refused and said that if the brand wants sakura then they have to sponsor the whole group (which didn't make sense since non-jp members were allowed solo gigs). Another example, brands have control over the artists and what is ultimately accepted even if brands are the ones paying, like in the case of izone, they reshot an entire sponsored photoshoot bc the company thought one member was standing out too much / overshadowing other members in a regular group picture bc their of the members hair colour. Also want to add, companies can ask brands if they want their idols for work. That's part of their job as an entertainment company, it's all about outreach. No new group would automatically have sponsorships if companies didn't reach out to the brands in the first place (especially if there's not a lot of noise around them, and lots of companies have new groups under tight wraps). In the show The Manager / The Omniscient Interfering View, you see a lot of managers taking calls and making outbound connections to jobs (especially for smaller groups and solo gigs). Especially if it is a brand that the artist is interested in working with, most companies can't fathom working with certain artists (especially larger groups since they believe that the artist might be outside their budget), so it falls on the responsibility of the ent agency.

But are those actually views and interests that Tzuyu herself actually holds? I feel a lot of the complaints fall into the wish fulfillment and fantasy aspects of K-pop culture. Fans identify with their favourite idol and project their own interests and desires onto the idols, rather than actually understand the interests and desires of the idols themselves. Fans fantasize about luxury brand deals and solo career opportunities, and project these goals onto their favourite idols. Based on what we've seen of Tzuyu, she seems less interested in these things and more interested in stuff like charity work for schools for kids from poor areas as well as animal shelters; both of which she regularly partakes in.

The flag scandal could be exactly why and still to this day she could be blacklisted by major brands. Every group has preferential treatment. Fans love her a lot, but political policies with business opportunities in Mainland China access prevent that from happening.
So, IMO the "mistreatment" comes down to several separate factors and issues that may or may not actually be mistreatment. Lack of attendance to fashion weeks / events on her own as well as lack of solo brand deals are not purely in JYPE's control. Those brands must first want to sign Tzuyu on. However, because most brands - particularly, luxury brands - want to target the Chinese market, they may thus be weary about signing Tzuyu on due to the flag incident and the Chinese government (and netizens) having long memories. Especially since cross-straits tensions are at an all time high. It's also worth noting that, to this day, TWICE generally steers clear of official activities in China or Taiwan despite other K-pop groups being able to do so without issue. Similarly, lack of a solo music career is firstly a bit premature to say as well as not determined purely on a popularity contest. Nayeon and Jihyo had solo releases likely because they had the combination of talent, personality, and fanbase to be safe bets for JYPE. For instance, Tzuyu seems far too timid and quiet, especially with people she's not familiar with, to likely be able to pull off a solo career. Instead, she could fare better in a subunit, similar to MISAMO, perhaps with the others in the Maknae Line. However, doing that now would just leave Jeongyeon the only member without solo / subunit careers, which would inevitably lead to JYPE being accused of mistreatment. Meaning, a hypothetical Maknae Line subunit would likely have to wait until a Jeongyeon solo project, which might be tricky to figure how to optimize. It could also simply come down to interest. Perhaps a strong solo music career is not something Tzuyu wishes to pursue. Case in point, she's one of the members with the fewest songwriting / production-side credits. Instead, Tzuyu seems to have other, non-work related interests (whilst her career with TWICE means she's far from going hungry or in need for money). For instance, we've seen Tzuyu engage in lots of philanthropic work (typically relating to schools in impoverished areas / countries) and volunteering at animal shelters (with Jeongyeon).

If brands were knocking down JYP's door trying to get Tzuyu to endorse something, I can't see him saying "No thanks". SKZ members endorse brands all the time, and JYP loves its gg way more than its bg, so I can't see him holding Twice back. Girl cant do anything. She got lucky big time with Twice and her looks but other than that, she cant sing... So why should she have more lines? She's nothing to wrote home about in the dance departament and has - 1 stage presence. We could say almost the same for Sana, for instance, but at least Sana has personality and charisma to boot, so she's naturally more interesting for brands to work with. Plus, I dont think JYP would refuse brand deals for Tzuyu just to apite her for whatever reason, money is money. The more likely scenario is that brands are not really taking a interest in her. Also, it's worth noting brand deals are not a simple yes / no type situation. It could be that the terms were unfavourable and/or too restrictive. And a "no" decision from JYPE doesn't indicate who within the company made that decision - it could be company execs of Tzuyu herself (e.g. if the terms offered weren't satisfactory, etc). As such, with news like this, how much details we know is highly important.

To be a brand ambassador, a fashion brand has to contact the label and request for that member to be their brand ambassador. The company doesn't call fashion brands saying "hey you, I've decided I want my K-pop idol as brand ambassador for you, so now let's sign the contract with MY conditions" . Besides, if some brands requested Tzuyu to be brand ambassador, there is first Tzuyu that can also decide to not accept. The terms the brand gives are not acceptable/compatible with her schedule, or they might pretend too much .
@@claudiaStay Not exactly, there are plenty of situations where there might be a position for sponsorship available and brands don't really care who from the group is the ambassador so the company are the ones who make that arrangement. There are also several instances where the company can decline ambassadorships or even ask the company to change the conditions. Example: in izones first sponsorships with a Chinese company was supposed to only be for sakura but the company refused and said that if the brand wants sakura then they have to sponsor the whole group (which didn't make sense since non-jp members were allowed solo gigs). Another example, brands have control over the artists and what is ultimately accepted even if brands are the ones paying, like in the case of izone, they reshot an entire sponsored photoshoot bc the company thought one member was standing out too much / overshadowing other members in a regular group picture bc their of the members hair colour.
Also want to add, companies can ask brands if they want their idols for work. That's part of their job as an entertainment company, it's all about outreach. No new group would automatically have sponsorships if companies didn't reach out to the brands in the first place (especially if there's not a lot of noise around them, and lots of companies have new groups under tight wraps). In the show The Manager / The Omniscient Interfering View, you see a lot of managers taking calls and making outbound connections to jobs (especially for smaller groups and solo gigs). Especially if it is a brand that the artist is interested in working with, most companies can't fathom working with certain artists (especially larger groups since they believe that the artist might be outside their budget), so it falls on the responsibility of the ent agency.

I simply can't see that happening. From what we've seen, Tzuyu doesn't speak much when amongst strangers and is prone to making (adorable) gaffes when public speaking. Which likely make it difficult for her to excel as a soloist.

That is so disrespectful. It's amazing that she has people who will take a stand for her because tzuyu always seems to be the person to please others.
But are those actually views and interests that Tzuyu herself actually holds? I feel a lot of the complaints fall into the wish fulfillment and fantasy aspects of K-pop culture. Fans identify with their favourite idol and project their own interests and desires onto the idols, rather than actually understand the interests and desires of the idols themselves. Fans fantasize about luxury brand deals and solo career opportunities, and project these goals onto their favourite idols. Based on what we've seen of Tzuyu, she seems less interested in these things and more interested in stuff like charity work for schools for kids from poor areas as well as animal shelters; both of which she regularly partakes in.

The flag scandal could be exactly why and still to this day she could be blacklisted by major brands. Those said brands could have most or bulk of their clientele from China so that could be why she doesn’t appear to be in many things. If she does it could bc the company doesn’t care about that clientele or get their sells from mostly outside China.

So, IMO the "mistreatment" comes down to several separate factors and issues that may or may not actually be mistreatment. Lack of attendance to fashion weeks / events on her own as well as lack of solo brand deals are not purely in JYPE's control. Those brands must first want to sign Tzuyu on. However, because most brands - particularly, luxury brands - want to target the Chinese market, they may thus be weary about signing Tzuyu on due to the flag incident and the Chinese government (and netizens) having long memories. Especially since cross-straits tensions are at an all time high. It's also worth noting that, to this day, TWICE generally steers clear of official activities in China or Taiwan despite other K-pop groups being able to do so without issue.
Similarly, lack of a solo music career is firstly a bit premature to say as well as not determined purely on a popularity contest. Nayeon and Jihyo had solo releases likely because they had the combination of talent, personality, and fanbase to be safe bets for JYPE. For instance, Tzuyu seems far too timid and quiet, especially with people she's not familiar with, to likely be able to pull off a solo career. Instead, she could fare better in a subunit, similar to MISAMO, perhaps with the others in the Maknae Line. However, doing that now would just leave Jeongyeon the only member without solo / subunit careers, which would inevitably lead to JYPE being accused of mistreatment. Meaning, a hypothetical Maknae Line subunit would likely have to wait until a Jeongyeon solo project, which might be tricky to figure how to optimize.
It could also simply come down to interest. Perhaps a strong solo music career is not something Tzuyu wishes to pursue. Case in point, she's one of the members with the fewest songwriting / production-side credits. Instead, Tzuyu seems to have other, non-work related interests (whilst her career with TWICE means she's far from going hungry or in need for money). For instance, we've seen Tzuyu engage in lots of philanthropic work (typically relating to schools in impoverished areas / countries) and volunteering at animal shelters (with Jeongyeon).

If brands were knocking down JYP's door trying to get Tzuyu to endorse something, I can't see him saying "No thanks". SKZ members endorse brands all the time, and JYP loves its gg way more than its bg, so I can't see him holding Twice back. idk about fashion brands and ambassadors but tzuyu isn’t a very good vocalist or performer, so i understand why she’s given less lines.
She seems to be upset a lot.almost like she’s being pushed to hard.Her facial expressions tell the tell.
Always surrounded by people to control her every move.
And fans pretending and controlling her too. Pretending she does fashion week etc, instead of being happy that she's able to do all the things she's actually happy to do (helping schools in poor areas/countries, going and helping animal shelters, etc) . She never showed interest in fashion. So why even her fans must control her and demand that she does everything the so called "fans" want from her? Being a fan isn't about controlling the idol like a freaking doll and make them do what "fans" want. Being a fan is loving and supporting your fave no matter what. Being happy when she/he is happy. Showing interest in the activities that she obviously enjoys, instead of projecting onto her an image that isn't true and isn't part of her.
Tbh Tzuyu doesn't deserve any mistreatment, however don't hate on Jihyo. Plus her short lines in songs isn't even mistreatment when she isn't good at singing or rapping, soooo whats your point?
Girl cant do anything. She got lucky big time with Twice and her looks but other than that, she cant sing... So why should she have more lines? She's nothing to wrote home about in the dance departament and has - 1 stage presence. We could say almost the same for Sana, for instance, but at least Sana has personality and charisma to boot, so she's naturally more interesting for brands to work with. Plus, I dont think JYP would refuse brand deals for Tzuyu just to apite her for whatever reason, money is money. The more likely scenario is that brands are not really taking a interest in her. As pretty as she is, there are a whole bunch of younger, fresher, prettier or just as pretty idols out there with much more charisma and personality. At this point she should work on her acting skills and try to make her name as an actress.

Aside from jihyo nayeon and the member with the short hair no one else in twice can sing. This girl is bad at singing, dancing has no stage presence and had an empty look all the time and she’s been an idol for years so what can jyp do about it?
Lamo she easily can outsing 4th generation group like illit and le sserafim she isn't bad at dancing and all twice member can sing except sana and momo
