  • Uganda tour operators have been urged to deepen join partnerships with their Kenyan counterparts operating along the vast Kenya coast tourism belt, in order to grow tourism revenues back home, where the sector registered an increase in visitor arrivals of over 1.2 million tourists in the year 2022, collecting 1.03 billion dollars in 2023. Speaking at the foreign affairs ministry, Paul Makumbya the Uganda consul General in Mombasa, says out of the recent engagements 1860 business to business, were facilitated and that Uganda firms are already booking tourists into the country, especially for Gorilla trekking. During the FY 2024/25 budget, missions abroad was allocated 55 to market Uganda to potential tourists and market exports and attract investors.
