    I am very impressed with this as I do not often see these uncompleted finishes.
    I brought my house because of its build year and features in the knowing that SOME TLC would have to be carried out on it. We truly are not lazy man, the work that goes into putting right collapsing walls, window frames etc.
    I learned about building, agriculture and many other things from my nan grandpops mother father and brother cousins and friends. I also worked on a construction however we did not have the access to these roles. I do love working with various materials, soils, aggregates. This is my kind of large project.
    Really impressed, look forward to seeing the finished project.
    I am Proud to be an African.
    Peace

    Quick question... I can see you built a top floor... Are you comfortable the original foundation can supoort this?
    I nearly bought an uncompleted house too for some of the reasons you mentioned but i wasn't sure whether the foundation will supoort what i wanted to do. I am not sure whether there is a way to test the strength of foundations.

    • @AfricaBuildingHub
      @AfricaBuildingHub  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Yeah so that's a good point. Fortunately for me, I bought it from a friend and we had been tracking the progress of the house from the first day. He built it with the intention of making it a storey building and so made the foundation as such.
      I'm also not sure how to test the strengths of foundations but do make sure to use hollow blocks at the top as it is lighter and doesn't add extra stress to the foundation too much.

      @@AfricaBuildingHub When we bought it last year, it was around 25k ghs per plot (100 by 70 feet). We bought a few plots so we can build and also have land for a decent garden as well as vegetable farming and maybe poultry too... The aim is to be self sufficient as much as possible and i also love greenery, lots of real grass snd trees.
      As things stand we have walled and gated the land and are in the process of registering it at the lands commission - nearly there. The next step is to get an architect and then design and build... But we will take our time to build.
