I think it's really cool that the colors of Orange Piccolo are like a Dragon Ball, Orange with red.
right like its something that should be natural to namekians being that they made the dragonballs..it would be cool to see a namek obtain these forms through just training

I don't know...I think there's one step to go for our fav z-fighter!! Orange picollo reminds of that SS2 that was full of muscles but was lacking speed and so...not the reall SS2 mode!! I think there's a slim down version of the Tang Piccolo...hopefully

Nice to have Piccolo become more relevant in dragonball again, especially with the dragonball super superhero movie. Dragonball super superhero is without a doubt Piccolo's movie. Orange Piccolo is a great form for Piccolo, and allows him to compete with the saiyans again. It is strange that while Piccolo does train to get stronger, his most significant power increases has always been because of shortcuts, such as Namekian fusion and a wish from the dragonballs, but I won't complain since Piccolo finally gets his own transformation.
You cannot blame him, the only time he gets those shortcuts or what I would say "blessings" is when he had to protect his friends and when the Earth was in great tremendous danger, like in planet Namek against Frieza, when he fused with a namekian named Nail, against the Androids and then later Cell, fusing with Kami, and now finally after all these years, his full potential powers unlocked from the Dragon balls, because it is really one of its most greatest gifts to earth, and desperate times calls for desperate measures.
Might as well make that wish then see the world ruled by the iron fist of the Red Ribbon Army.
I don't think that's true since he went from weaker than 1st form cell to being able to compete in the t.o.p just by training

Sure I’ll explain it - Namekian magic is the power to do what the plot demands
I get a little annoyed with people calling this form a "shortcut" or "unearned". We literally see in this movie that Piccolo is spending all of his free time (when not being a dope uncle to pan) training. Still training, still encouraging Gohan to train. What exactly do people mean by earning a transformation? Having a rage moment? Why is getting a free transformation when rage moment just because you're born a Saiyan "earned" but this is not? Piccolo has more than put in the work to be this powerful, and if he were a Saiyan he would have been already. And now we find out his race does in fact have a culturally relevant method to bridge that gap and its not "earned" enough? That's nonsense. The dragon balls are Namekian in origin. Kami designed shenron and dendei continues to maintain them. Piccolo getting a power boost from something derived from his own origin and powers is ENTIRELY VALID. Way way more so than Gohan studying bugs or whatever for his entire adult life and then getting an equivalent power boost because he got mad for ten seconds.

Piccolo with his Potential Unleashed (Ultimate Piccolo) has black nails, while his Base form has white. His nails stay black in Orange Piccolo as well as his Antennas facing upward. Besides him losing the many ridges in his arms, those are some really cool micro changes in his transformations. Like the color of the eyes in certain Super Saiyan forms.
Just a thought, I think it would be great if its revealed that this orange form is ONLY obtainable by certain Namekians using the Dragonballs in a great time of need. As if the dragon is preprogrammed in the creation "spell" to grant this power when the need for power is great.
Like Piccolo's new form, hope him and Gohan gonna be in more fights now.

I don’t think Piccolo would just wish to be stronger for the hell of it. Goku and vegeta were off world at the time and he knew the looming threat of cell and androids would be too much for his current power. He made the choice and it worked out in the end.
Shenron obviously has a lot of respect for piccolo. Has he ever given “a little more” for a wish before? Great movie

I like the idea that because of how far piccolo has come, the dragon rewarded him with that little bit extra
The form itself is an evolution of his Potential Unlocked form given to him by Shenlong, but the power he releases is the deeper potential within himself, although that was also given to him by Shenron as a "small" bonus.
Nice to see Piccolo actually get his due. Loved him in this movie, and I’m hoping maybe the orange transformation is something he can perfect/build on like the super saiyan forms!
i really hope to see in the next arc of the manga or in a movie, goku and vegeta reacting to beast Gohan and orange piccolo, maybe doing a 2 vs 2 fight, training together etc.

As far as I know, the official name of Piccolos more yellow form aka the first new form he gets in the movie, is called Power Awakening. Which makes sense because it isn’t the same thing that Gohan got in the Buu saga, but it is immensely similar. Dragon Ball legends just released a few new cards from the movie a little while back and that’s what they called it there, and the other DB mobile game is how we got the official name for Blue Evolution Vegeta as well. So I think as of right now, Power Awakened or Awakening is the official translated form name.
This was a little too lengthy for my liking but I think all of it is necessary.
Namekians can live for centuries. Imagine if Piccolo with his potential awakened were to train in the hyperbolic time chamber for weeks. Frieza, Gohan and Broly wouldn’t be able to close the gap for a long time.
When you realize Piccolo could've wished for this transformation during the Android Saga.

Some folks have wondered how Piccolo became so instantly strong after getting his potential unlocked by Shenron compared to characters like Gohan and Krillin when they got their potentials unlocked by Guru. I think the answer to this is twofold. For starters, as a wish dragon with full access to the Namekian Book of Legends, Shenron is likely way better at unlocking one's potential. Aside from that, let's look at Piccolo's growth prior to unlocking his potential.
Not only did Piccolo gain tremendous power from training, but also from fusing with Nail to become an emboldened warrior AND Kami to become his old self again. Think of all of this as Piccolo stacking his hidden potential like crazy, but never having an ability to unleash it until the latest film because he lacked the means to fully transform like a Saiyan. He was basically saving up his potential unintentionally, building up the hidden reserves of strength that needed a specific unlocking method to release.

I might be wrong, but isn’t the Dragon God Zalama and him having a connection to the Namekians technically canon? If he is, I was thinking this form might be Piccolo tapping into Zalama’s power and the transformation is a Dragon God transformation. “Dragon Piccolo” would be a cool name for the form if this could be true.

Has nobody noticed that when piccolo summons shenron he begins with i will Grant your wish and then sees piccolo and becomes more humble he says oh piccolo sama like he is respecting him and gives him his full power because piccolo still isnt complete you could argue that if he fused with king piccolo he would be truly complete
If it was the same sacred/ultra divine water used in the Garlic Jr. saga, it fully tracks that it would bring out Shenlong's full potential, allowing him to do the same for Pickle.
Let's not forget when Piccolo fused with Nail on Namek. Whatever essence or power that Nail left with Piccolo, added to the power increase also. So Nail's power is getting unlocked also. In theory🤔 "Mystic Mango Piccolo" is what I'd call him.
One of my favorite things about it is…piccolo got a damn transformation and it still a good day for us piccolo fans.

Glad to see Piccolo FINALLY gets what he deserves. Good to know he's on par with the others. I just wish he revealed this form due to his training. He trains way too much just for him to have to wish for it.

Honestly of all the new transformations I feel like Piccolos is a good one. My evidence for that is that Shenron, originally created by Kami, gave the power to Piccolo so it feels like a nod or recognition of his former station. The dragon gods and dragonballs are intrinsic to namekians; out of all the folks who wished to gain power Piccolo feels like the only one who deserves it.
Let's not forget the dragon god being mentioned in DBS that created the super dragon balls. I think it's the tip of the iceberg for piccolo
I wonder if Orange Piccolo is what a Super Namekian truly looks like. It would be kinda similar to how Vegeta kept assuming he and Goku were super saiyan simply because they got stronger, until they finally saw what a super Saiyan truly looked like when Goku unlocked the form. Everyone assumed Piccolo had already become a super Namekian a long time ago when he fused with Kami(and I think they said he was a super Namekian when he fused with Nail too) but maybe “Orange Piccolo” is the true form of a super Namekian.
I want to see these forms again in the next TOP

It could be the Nameless Namekian was a Orenge Namekian, but the technique to transforming was lost when he split into piccolo and kami.
Piccolo not gaining the power himself could be down to his beimg on earth, with its fewer suns it would be a less optimal enviroment for a namkeian to gain strength.
I wouldn't mind in the next arc if Goku and Vegeta train by sparring with Gohan and Piccolo for a few chapters. We could get reactions to everyone's new states of power lol
I feel like the Orange Picollo form is more akin to the SSJ God form than the normal SSJ form. Something lost to time which the user could not achieve on their own.

Old kai didn't use divine magic to unlock Gohans potential. He used witches magic which he can use because he fused with a witch via the potara rings.
Piccolo became a giant in the original DragonBall series as well 🙂
Now we just need Tenshinhan to have a power upgrade as he always had the most potential out of the human Z Fighters since he was one of Goku’s formidable rivals during Dragon Ball as well as being a descended alien.

@@XJSPlays02 Yeah..not going to happen...he is firmly in the human tier power levels and at this point he could learn kaioken and it wouldn't make a bit of difference..we are at SSYG and beyond levels, what in the hell type of power up is a human Tien getting to get to power levels which would make him relevant..it's ridiculous..Tien fans are just deluding themselves...all human fighters are completely irrelevant in the DBS era..base saiyans are to much for them...to go MCU for a moment, it's like expecting Humans like Bwidow or Hawkeye to get on freaking Thors level..that the type of gulf of power difference there is..it's insanity. The fact is Tien knows his limitations, sadly it seems his fanbase doesnt.

Due to Shenron giving him the form and the Namekian symbol physically appearing on the back of Piccolo's gi, I think this is a mystical form as opposed to something achievable through physical training.
Finally my boy Piccolo gets some love, always been one of my favorite characters. I always found his fighting IQ and style so dope.

I actually totally forgot about this movie, but when I saw a picture of a Gohan that looked like GT's Baby-Vegeta and a big steroid orange Piccolo I first thought this was some random fanfiction stuff.
I had to look this up and well, here I am. Finally our favourite green boy gets a power up of his own.

I think while unlocking Piccolo latent power, the "extra surprise" the dragon threw in was to do the same to nail amd kami within him which helped stack power inside of Piccolo further
I heard that "something extra" was the original shenlong kami created returning to him. In superhero you'll notice that the design of Shenlong changed becoming Dende's dragon rather than Kami's dragon
Im honestly just glad Piccolo was able to get some of the spotlight after a LONG TIME OF WAITING. And lemme say... they did him right in this movie. Him and Gohan both.
I prefer to call it the Ajisa form because of the lore released around Ajisa trees, the symbol of one appearing on the back of Piccolo's Gi as he transforms.
Orange Piccolo is blatantly the Super Saiyan equivalent. He's orange, his antennae are standing on end, and his eyes are red like the original designs of Super Saiyan. Also, Gohan was talking about finding bugs that could effectively achieve a similar transformation, which suggests it's likely possible for many species to achieve it just under different circumstances. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the humans achieve something like this, which builds on Gohan's recent research to become his later teachings of ki to the general public mentioned in some of the extended media.

11:09 - Just putting it out there but: Piccolo Jr. didn't exist back then! The son of Katas was divided in *KING* Piccolo & Kami. Multiple times Jr. is addressed as the *son* of King Piccolo, not King Piccolo himself! Even to this day, the Nameless Namekian has never appeared outside of flashback.
Please make a video, making sense of beast gohan. I think it would be a bit cooler if gohan had his tail in the form. The red eyes look like ozaru, combined with the mystic power/ ssj. To explain the purple ish hair
It seemed like the entire movie was Piccolo pushing a scenario to get Gohan to unlock his fighting spirit again.
All the pretending with Pan and pretty much tanking in the Cell Max fight just to seem like he was dead.
