I really liked this one. Shapeshifters are one of my favourite fantasy races. I was honestly expecting her to freak out when the listener shifted, but thankfully she was very calm about it. Great work, as always.
i tried to keep it a mix of freaking out and keeping it controlled. a controlled internal freak out, you could say.
A very valid response considering her bird turned into a whole person. Also, if I may ask, how do you come up with the ideas for these? Are these just ideas that come to you, or do you have to sit down and think about them? I've been writing myself recently, so I'm kind of curious.
its a mix of a lot of things.
recently, ive been using months old ai roleplay chats to loosely base my scripts off of (please note they are not WRITTEN by ai, they are written by me), thats one way.
another is finding a thumbnail image and asking myself if i can put a backstory to it. those are usually the ones with the most fitting thumbnail (such as this one.) thats obviously specific to content creation, but im sure you can apply it to personal writing and what not. finding images (not text. images let you be more creative and original) that spark an inspiration or idea is good
one other is using what i know works. for example, yandere audios tend to do well. if i have an idea and there isnt much to it, i can add something that makes it interesting, like a yandere personality, an inhuman listener, or a fantasy-like sprinkle in it
and finally, the hardest one... sitting and thinking. a good method to this is finding 2 things you enjoy and combining them. throw in a bit of creativity and dustings of 'what works' and you have something people like

I hadn't even considered using images for inspiration, which is surprising as I really like art, and combining two things together to form story ideas seems like it'll be really helpful with getting an end result I'm happy with. Scratch! This one is so good. And I know I’ve said this about a few, but this one has real potential to expand. Even if not one big story, you could totally make little stand alone episodes of adventures with these two! I love it!
hehehe i really really really loved this one. its possible ill make stand alone episodes of their adventures since i dont know a definitive part two plot besides strict world building (and why world build when its the end?) so

Interesting thing, birds actually have fairly complex brains. Sure, ones more complex than others, but even a chicken can be trained to follow simple comands (personal experience).
More inteligent birds like corvids, psittaciforms and hunting birds can learn a tone of complex things.
I mean, corvids are pretty much monkeys with wings, they know how to use tools to get food and are incredible inteligent.

i tried my best to make it subtle but clear that you are and were a shapeshifter before, but you always stayed as a hawk. the amethyst forced you into your human form for a short while, unable to shift back into a bird temporarily. im sorry if i didnt make that clear enough
