Glad to see you and I are in simpatico on this film. Kim Seon-ho is definitely the standout but I wish I had caught this movie sooner; definite top ten material. Among South Korea's top grossing films of 2023. And I recommend people stay for the ending credit stinger; definitely elicited more laughs from me.
This is Kim Seon Ho’s debut movie and 1st action role for him. I enjoyed the movie bcos of his Nobleman character that elevated the movie. The end credit had me laughing, best end credit 🤣
Man, this one is really good. My favorite part of this film is the humor, especially involving the Nobleman. The twist during the mid/end credit scenes had me cracking up a lot. It's so dumb but brilliant at the same time. 😆
This is a good movie. The strength of this movie is its plot. Even if its a little far fetched its actually thrilling and original. An amateur boxer needing money for his mother's surgery suddenly gets a call from his dying father who wishes to see him. But as he leaves for Korea he encounters a strange man who apparently wants to kill him and a woman who who it seems wants to save him. The plot is typical Korean style action drama but as the layers come off and plot twists after one are revealed this movie really hits another gear. Maybe this movie needed a little more seriousness and little more exploration of the family dynamics but its a very original and interesting plot. I mean I haven't seen such an original plot in a long time. I give this a 7.5. This has to be my favorite movie of this year so far.
Haven't seen The Witch part 2 yet, loved the first one and VIP, and was slightly disappointed by Night in Paradise (good cats, great first half, weaker and predictable second half, imo). But Park is without a doubt a very competent director, I'll check The Childe when I can get my hands on it !

I missed the end credit stinger. I will watch again soon.

I missed the credit scenes! Just got the Blu Ray though, so I'll rewatch til the end credits this time.
The villain carried the film, without him it would have been very average. With him is was great fun, sometimes.
Thank you so much, without you I wouldn't know about so many movies.
You are welcome! :)

You are correct. The plot is rather unconventional.

Hi, Childe actually means a young man of noble birth. So the title could point to double meanings ie either Marco or the Nobleman.
I did not know that. Interesting fact.

Nice! Let me know what you think, once you've watched it.
