You need ti understand the backstory on this. J-Hope grew up as a street dancer... those are his roots before he ever joined BTS. He would dance to Chicken Noodle Soup as well as many other hip hop songs. He loved the song so much he paid Bianca Bonnie (Young B.) $2.7 million for the rights to do a remake. Keep in mind, at this time BTS were HUGE, but this is the level of respect these guys (BTS) show and pay homage to the artists that influenced them. J-Hope released a new mini album a couple months ago called "Hope on the Street". It's 🔥. I think you would enjoy the track "I wonder (ft. Jungkook)," and the track "NEURON" which is the name of the street dance crew he was in before BTS. However, I agree that this song didn't need BG. And, as a die hard ARMY, it's not my favorite J-Hope song by any means. 💜

Hobi and Becky G got chatting and found out that they both loved dancing to this when they were younger which is how this came about. He had her on stage with him at Lollapalooza too when he was there. They've stayed friends too which is cool. ✌💜

I really liked Becky G as a feature on Chicken Noodle Soup! I think J Hope's version goes BEYOND "the block", and the theme goes GLOBAL, finding commonality in people and how we live around the world. Hard to find another song track that has three different languages in it!

I hope this video finally makes you stop entering a j-hope video expecting to dislike the song lol, you've been way too harsh on him 😂 appreciate the honesty tho. his jack in the box and hope world projects have some of his best stuff. check out "more" "arson" "airplane" "hangsang" for some of the harder hitting rap flows, and "daydream" "equal sign" for funk and rap laced with singing. of course, there's also his 80 minute long lollapalooza show which he absolutely killed. I challenge you to watch that and you will 100% see j-hope in a totally new light. it's on bangtantv and the channel "enjoy bts more" has it with english subs
I don’t think I’ve been harsh. Only reason I was harsh on this one is because it was a good classic. So far wonder has been my favorite. But I haven’t found a song that has me like omg it’s incredible u kno.

I know we are past the kendrick and drake beef but since I watch your other stuff and BTS, it would be nice to see both worlds collide. RM remade a Drake track for his first mixtape called "Too Much". Rm, Suga and Jin also adapted Kendrick’s Swimming Pools in their unofficial track ´School of Tears’ to promote their first album ‘2 Cool 4 Skool’ which is part of their school trilogy when they were young. Check them out!!! I thought it would be cool if you reacted to them since you like hiphop! (Bonus since J.Cole is a bit involved: RM adapted Simba by Cole in a track called MONSTER too). Also, since they don't have official MVs, I would recommend you use the color coded lyric videos

Thanks for reacting to it even though your expectations were very low. Bts tries to pay homage and I totally get that some remakes of classic songs or even movies are hit or miss but I think he did it justice. I grew up in the in between era when the original was dying out and then this came out when I was in my early 20s so I feel like I can appreciate the both of them separately and not really compare them because although they are similar I would still say they’re pretty different.
I'm a white girl from buttfuck KS, but I knew the og ver going into my first reaction. Still, I had high hopes for it (since I love BTS and j-hope's music). To me, j-hope absolutely devoured, especially since I know a lot of his bg, but the Becky G part definitely had to grow on me... Also, idk if they were friends before the song, but they're pretty close now!
Recommendations for more j-hope: If you haven't already checked it out, j-hope's Hope World album was part of what made me love and respect him as an artist. Daydream, Airplane, Base Line, Hangsang... tbh I've just named most of the album cuz all the songs are great to me 😅 BTS' Airplane pt.2 is a good song to check out too!
