Geysir area and Gullfoss waterfall are ones of Iceland's most iconic attractions on the popular Golden Circle Route found in the South West of Iceland.
You can drive from Geysir to Gullfoss in around 7 min . Gullfoss ("Golden Falls") is located in the canyon of Hvítá river (White River). Gullfoss is relatively close to Reykjavik (110 km / 70 miles) and is the most visited waterfall in Iceland. Gullfoss consist of two falls, the upper cascade has a drop of 11 meters, the lower one 21 meters.
